Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”I’m sorry, but my Guard Leader is preoccupied and probably won’t have time for a sparring session,” Yuan Tianbo said.

”He may not have time, but I wonder if Young Master Yuan does?” Han Yan’s expression chilled as he slowly rose to his feet.

”Are you joking?” Seeing Han Yan’s unfriendly demeanor, Yuan Tianbo was slightly taken aback.

”I’m certainly not joking. Today, my two personal guards are definitely looking to spar with someone. If your Guard Leader is not available, then you’ll have to do,” Han Yan declared authoritatively.

”Are you threatening me?” Yuan thought that with Ye Fengyun present, Han Yan would at least restrain himself somewhat. However, he didn’t anticipate that even in front of Ye Fengyun, Han Yan would still be so arrogant and domineering. Yuan Tianbo hastily turned to Ye Fengyun with a look of pleading in his eyes.

”Han Yan, you are, after all, a descendant of the Mu Family and the son of the City Lord. Isn’t it a bit too much to be so aggressive?” Even Ye Fengyun hadn’t expected Han Yan to remain so insolent in his presence, and with a scowl, he said so.

”Young Master Ye, you’re not unaware of the kind of person I am. I am considered the number one playboy of Heishi City; such behavior doesn’t really qualify as excessive to me,” Han Yan responded with a cold sneer.

Since Ye Fengyun was clearly allied with Yuan Tianbo, making it obvious he intended to embarrass the Nanyan Commerce, even if she were to swallow her pride today, nothing would change. With that in mind, why should she care about his attitude?

”You...” Ye Fengyun was taken aback by Han Yan’s self-righteous retort, as if his reputation as a playboy was something to be proud of, and he was left speechless.

As an elite of Long Yan Academy and the leading disciple of Holy Dragon Master Wenren Qingqiu, Ye Fengyun was always prideful and aloof. Although he traveled extensively, no one dared to be so brazen in his presence, all conscious of their image. He had never before encountered someone like Han Yan.

A scoundrel, that’s what this guy is! Ye Fengyun cursed inwardly with disdain.

But curse as he might, he found he was at a loss on how to deal with such a scoundrel. If someone not only takes pride in such a disreputable title but also flaunts it, what more could he say?

”Young Master Yuan, are you ready? If you are, then let’s begin the sparring session,” Han Yan said.

”No, I don’t want to spar; you can’t force me.” Yuan Tianbo had suffered at the hands of Huayue and Zirong, not just once. Aware of how viciously skillful these two could be when they struck, he dared not accept the challenge, shaking his head rapidly like a rattle-drum.

”All right, then I won’t force you. If you don’t want to spar, so be it. But you’d better be careful in the future. If you happen to walk along a night road and someone cracks your skull open, don’t blame me,” Han Yan warned with a sinister squint in his eyes.

That was a naked threat.

”Han Yan, in my presence, you dare to threaten so viciously!” Unable to bear it any longer, Ye Fengyun slammed the table and stood up, pointing angrily at Han Yan.

”A threat, did I threaten? I don’t feel like I did. Didn’t I just give him a friendly reminder?” Han Yan asked with an innocently puzzled look. Reasoning with a playboy? Are you out of your mind?

Seeing that feigned ignorant look on her face, Ye Fengyun seriously wanted to slap her across the face. However, considering his status, he refrained from striking, his hand trembling slightly with anger.

”Brother Han Yan...” Seeing Ye Fengyun so infuriated, Mu Nan tugged at Han Yan’s sleeve. After all, Ye Fengyun was the leading disciple of Wenren Qingqiu, and Mu Nan was not keen on openly breaking ties with him.
