Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 361: 361st time at Mu Family

Afraid that Han Yan would be bored alone in the carriage, Mu Yuying and the others gathered around to chat and joke with him. Although to Han Yan, the thoughts of his younger siblings sometimes seemed childish, this was the first time he really felt the warmth of family, so he indulged in their idle ramblings about everything under the sun.

With her experience from two lifetimes, she was far more knowledgeable than these sheltered flowers. When discussing various places in Anyun Country and even beyond, it was as if she were reciting treasures from home.

Listening to Han Yan ramble from east to west, the group of youngsters was not only filled with admiration but also respected her deeply. Being members of the Mu Family and not much different in age, why did Han Yan know so much while their knowledge was so pitifully sparse?

Seeing Han Yan and Mu Yuying having a great time, even Mu Ze dropped his precocious facade to revert to his true self, pestering Han Yan with endless questions. Mu Ziqing was also immensely relieved.

These past days, he had been detained by Yan Yuchu in Xiushui City. Although he wasn’t mistreated, and was even served with good food and drink daily, he was still fraught with worry. Now finally free, his mood relaxed, only to be replaced by deep fatigue, and he too climbed into the carriage to rest.

Unbeknownst to them, the group chatted and laughed all the way back to Heishi City.

Upon entering the city, a servant hurried back to report at the manor.

As per tradition, every time a Mu Family’s disciple returned from a mission, everyone from the Family Head and elders to descendants over thirteen years of age, would gather in the grand hall to welcome them, and this time was no exception.

Seeing Mu Ziqing deeply asleep, his brows, which although young had seen their share of trials, finally smoothed out and relaxed. Han Yan could imagine the days he spent in Xiushui City filled with constant fear and suffering. Not having the heart to wake him, Han Yan instructed the carriage to drive straight into the courtyard.

At the entrance of the grand hall, a dense crowd was gathered, led by Family Head Mu Rui’an and three elders. The Great Elder, who had not been seen for some time, was back and whispering with the Second Elder.

”Don’t worry, elder brother, this time we will definitely teach Han Yan a harsh lesson,” Second Elder transmitted using Gathering Qi Transmission to the Great Elder.

”Hmm, that brat, relying on his father’s backing, has become increasingly arrogant and reckless, nearly ruining the Mu Family’s reputation. It’s indeed time he was taught a lesson,” the Great Elder also used Gathering Qi Transmission and nodded in agreement.

”According to the latest information I’ve received, that Yan Yuchu is already a Sword Master. Given Han Yan’s cowardly and bullying nature, he would probably flee back to Heishi City without even daring to face him. We’ll need to deal with him severely according to our family law,” Second Elder added.

”Naturally,” the Great Elder nodded, then added with some concern, ”But with this, Ziqing is still in his hands. Won’t there be any problems?”

”That’s not a worry; it was merely childish mischief. I’ve already sent people to negotiate with the Yan Family in Shanyang City. He should be released in a few days,” Second Elder reassured.

After all, they were family, and even if they were to discipline Han Yan, they couldn’t ignore Mu Ziqing. A family like the Mu’s, that had survived upheavals and passed down through thousands of years, did not do so without reason.

”By the way, elder brother, how are things progressing in the Capital?” After discussing Han Yan, the Second Elder inquired curiously.

”All is taken care of; someone will arrive in a few days. I initially planned to deal with Mu Rui’an first, but with the current situation, we should start with disciplining Han Yan to temper Mu Rui’an’s sharpness,” the Great Elder said, his expression animated as he spoke of the Capital.

”Who is coming?” The Second Elder perked up, asking eagerly.
