Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Upon entering the Treasure Vault, the group immediately saw two openings in the stone wall, one large and one small, as well as a burial chamber and some discarded items that Han Yan had deemed useless and tossed aside, alongside a pile of clutter mixed together with more than a dozen longswords sticking out.

”How could this be, how did he find it, how did he find it?” Seeing that burial chamber, the Great Elder’s face changed dramatically as he muttered to himself.

”Found what?” Mu Feng asked, puzzled. He too had seen the burial chamber and felt it was eerily bizarre, yet he was unaware of the details.

”Han Yan, you come out, come out!” the Great Elder shouted in frustration and anger.

That burial chamber was the final resting place of their Mu Family ancestors; also buried there were the ancestral treasures of cultivation. For many years, each generation of Heishi City’s Mu Family heirs had tirelessly searched for the exact location of this chamber. Strangely enough, despite the Treasure Vault being so small that one would expect to uncover it even if digging three feet into the ground, generation after generation of the Mu heirs pressed on without success.

Who could have imagined that on his very first entry today, Han Yan would actually find the ancestral tomb. Without a doubt, the ancestral treasure of cultivation must have fallen into his hands, so how could the Great Elder not be frustrated and enraged?

No one answered; the eerie silence pervaded all around.

”Han Yan, come out!” the Great Elder shouted once more.

”Could he be dead?” Housekeeper Geng speculated. As the leader of the Treasure Vault guards, essentially the tomb keepers, he was privy to some insider knowledge and knew that the Treasure Vault housed hidden dangers, far from as simple as it appeared on the surface.

The Great Elder fell silent. The last time, just when he thought he was about to find the ancestral tomb, he accidentally triggered a trap and was severely injured, taking half a year of recuperation to recover.

The older generation had warned that even greater peril lay hidden within that chamber; all were advised that if they lacked the strength, they should not enter even if they found the tomb, as doing so could bring about a fatal catastrophe, or worse, complete obliteration without a place for one’s body to lay at rest.

Even if Han Yan had stumbled upon the tomb by accident, he wasn’t necessarily guaranteed to emerge alive with the ancestral relics. Calling out twice with no response, he might already have met his end inside the tomb, reduced to nothingness.

With this thought, the Great Elder was sparked with new vigor and quickly rushed towards the burial chamber, but remembering the old teachings, he soon slowed down, proceeding with utmost caution.

The Treasure Vault was originally gloomy and dreadful. With the addition of the burial chamber, it seemed even more mysterious. Seeing the Great Elder’s tense demeanor, both Mu Feng and Housekeeper Geng’s hearts involuntarily stirred, realizing there might be some danger, their eyes fixed unwaveringly on him.

”I’m here, give me a hand.” Just then, a faint voice drifted over.

”Ah, a ghost!” Mu Feng, already on edge, suddenly heard the spectral voice drifting over like a mournful spirit, and with a scream of terror, he leapt high into the air.

Indeed, as one of the two great young talents of Heishi City’s Mu Family, Mu Feng demonstrated exceptionally strong capabilities in his moment of horror, leaping a full thirty feet.

”Bang!” The head of the talented Mu collided heavily with the stone roof, also constructed of bluestone, causing his neck to twist and crash down to the ground.

”A ghost...” Mu Feng’s head bled profusely as he let out one more ghastly scream.

”Han Yan, is that you?” The Great Elder too was so startled that his whole body shook, but he retained his composure better than Mu Feng, not leaping up on the spot. Despite the ghastly voice resembling that of Han Yan, he pressed down his shock and asked.
