Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 727: Chapter 727: Fleeing from Famine 32

The children jumped up excitedly, ”Oh oh oh, we get to eat meatballs tomorrow.”

”Grandma, I also want to eat braised pork.”

”Grandma, the meat stew is delicious.”

”Grandma, let’s fry a few slices of meat tonight to satisfy our craving for now.”

The grandchildren gathered around the table and Yuan Chun, chattering non-stop.

Sun Chunfeng also laughed and said, ”Mom, the kids are craving meat. I’ll go to the backyard and pull up a couple of big white radishes to stir-fry with meat slices for the kids.”

”Sure, you go ahead.” Yuan Chun then instructed Dalin, ”Second one, go wash out the intestines, blanch them, and set them aside for us to eat on the Little New Year.”

”Grandma, it’s only two days until the Little New Year.”

”Grandma, I want to eat candy for the New Year.”

”Grandma, I want to eat pastries.”

”Alright, Grandma will buy them for you.” Yuan Chun reached out and touched each grandchild’s head.

”Grandma, you’re the best.”

”My grandma is the best grandma in the whole village.”

The grandchildren surrounded Yuan Chun, praising her with sweet words and coaxing her, making Yuan Chun smile all the time, looking like a cheerful Buddha every day.

Yuan Chun has a diligent daughter-in-law, and the grandchildren would even compete to help with the chores, so Yuan Chun didn’t have to worry about the household at all.

Taking advantage of the children’s winter break, Yuan Chun taught them martial arts every day.

The children had been practicing martial arts with her for four years, and even the youngest, Geng Xiaowen, was quite skillful, with fists that could create a wind sound, so much so that even Dalin couldn’t defeat him.

Out of all the children, Geng Xiaowu had the most resilience and determination. He was the most focused, the most diligent, and the most dedicated in his martial arts practice. Over the years, regardless of snow, wind, or rain, he consistently practiced martial arts for an hour every morning and evening.

Geng Xiaowu also has a high talent for martial arts. Yuan Chun had taught him everything she could, and now it was up to him to improve through his hard work and dedication.

Geng Xiaowu’s four years of effort paid off, and now he could easily take on several grown men.

”Grandma, the village is distributing fish today. Let’s go to the team square to join the fun.” Geng Xiaozen said, pulling Yuan Chun outside.

Among the five grandchildren, Geng Xiaozen couldn’t endure hardship. She often slacked off during martial arts practice and didn’t like training. Yuan Chun didn’t force her; whether she practiced was up to her own wish.

Yuan Chun never forced her grandchildren to do anything they didn’t want to do.

Carrying a large vegetable basket, Yuan Chun brought her grandchildren to the square at the team headquarters.

She arrived a bit late, and the square was already packed with people, so crowded and cramped that Yuan Chun decided against going into the crowd, instead finding a sheltered spot to stand.

The five grandchildren scattered when they reached the square, each finding their little friends to play with.

Granny Zhu also arrived late, carrying a vegetable basket. Just as she was about to squeeze into the crowd, she saw Yuan Chun. She walked over and said, ”Sister-in-law Geng, what are you doing standing here, looking at people’s heads? Come, let’s go up front and check it out.”

”No, I’ll just stand here. The village won’t skimp on giving us fish, will they?”

Yuan Chun didn’t want to be jostled in the crowd.

In the countryside, people don’t like to bathe in winter. Some who aren’t particular about hygiene might not bathe even once all winter. The smell from afar is bearable.

Up close, it can be unbearable.

Her senses are keen, and she didn’t want to smell the odors.

”Alright, I won’t squeeze in either.” Granny Zhu placed her basket on the ground and stood beside Yuan Chun.
