Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 715: Chapter 715: Fleeing Famine 20

Geng Dalin quickly stood up, concerned, ”Mother, you’re not well, you should stay indoors. Whatever you need, tell your son to handle it, you shouldn’t tire yourself out.”

”Mother’s fine, very healthy indeed, I’m just going out for a bit. In any case, don’t ask, and don’t wait up for me tonight.”

Yuan Chun couldn’t find an excuse to trick this naive son, so she carried her basket and hurried off.

Yuan Chun didn’t go far. After turning two corners, she slipped into a space, changed her attire, applied an Invisibility Talisman, and continued with her grand plan of stealing grain and water.

For the next three days, Yuan Chun barely slept; during the day she stole grain and water, at night she distributed them, exhausted to the point her legs felt as heavy as lead when walking.

It wasn’t until the water levels of the world’s largest freshwater lakes dropped several meters, and there was flowing water in rivers throughout the country sufficient to ensure it would reach all cities, counties, towns, and villages, that Yuan Chun stopped her feverish activity.

Utterly exhausted, Yuan Chun slept heavily for two days at home.

On the third day, 007 reported to her, ”Host, the villagers of Fengling Village are on their way back, they’ll probably return in about four days.”

In the past few days, Yuan Chun had been so busy with grain and water that she forgot about the Old Fan Family and the Du Family.

She asked, ”Have the people from the Old Fan Family and the Du Family cooked any meat these days?”

”Host, the Old Fan Family cooked once, but the Du Family hasn’t. Shortly after you and the village team separated, the half bag of husk that Geng Dazhuang had was taken by the Du family. Geng Dazhuang went hungry for two days, then followed the villagers to find food, dug up a small bundle of grass roots on the mountain, and only managed to survive these days without starving.”

”Because of the small bag of husk, Geng Dazhuang and Du Jincui had a falling out, they’ve torn each other apart. Geng Dazhuang even threatened to divorce Du Jincui.”

”Today, the villagers got the news that the government would distribute relief grain soon. They set off back, and Du Jincui worried that once back in the village, Geng Dazhuang might really divorce her, spent the whole day trying to please Geng Dazhuang.”

The villagers were returning.

The village was about to become lively again.

Yuan Chun was very happy.

Of course, she wouldn’t let go of the two families who wronged the original host in the past life.

So in the afternoon, claiming she had to go out, Yuan Chun applied an Invisibility Talisman, sat on a Flying Device, and found the fleeing village team.

Taking advantage while everyone was busy preparing food, Yuan Chun struck a few lightning bolts, killing all the people from the Old Fan Family and the Du Family.

Every last one, young and old.

Don’t say the children are innocent.

The children were not innocent at all.

They were especially happy when eating meat.

Geng Dazhuang and Du Jincui were also struck dead.

Yuan Chun didn’t want to deal with their bodies, so those two beasts were reduced to ashes, blown away by the wind, leaving no trace.

The people of the Old Fan Family and the Du Family weren’t turned to ashes, but into large chunks of charcoal, scaring the villagers enough to make them vomit.

The old village chief intervened, arranging for a few villagers to dig a pit, and buried all the people of the Old Fan Family and the Du Family in one pit.

They couldn’t just be left on the main road, could they?

Then, someone in the crowd murmured, ”Ah, retribution, eating what they shouldn’t have, Heaven couldn’t stand it.”

”The whole family wiped out, not a single member left, it must be karma.”

”Poor little Ya, such a clever and sensible girl, gone just like that. Maybe when the Old Fan Family was struck by lightning, that girl was watching.”

”Even Heaven took revenge for her.”

”Never seen a family as vicious as the Old Fan Family, how could they eat that meat.”

”I’d rather starve to death than eat it.”

”Ugh...Don’t mention it, I’m going to throw up.”

”Yeah, let’s not talk about it. In the future, don’t mention such things that Heaven punishes; as mere mortals, we shouldn’t speak of it.”
