Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 714: Chapter 714: Fleeing Famine 19

In the evening, Yuan Chun stir-fried wood ear mushrooms with eggs, made a cold dish with dry wild vegetables, and stewed dried gourd strips with vermicelli.

There was steamed rice.

The whole family was stuffed.

At eleven o’clock at night, Yuan Chun extended her spiritual power, hypnotized her family into a deep sleep, then slipped into the space, changed into night clothes, and took the Flying Device to the county town.

She filled water into the three wells in the county and stocked the government granary with grain, then placed a letter on the county leader’s desk.

Then she went on to the neighboring county... city district, delivering water and grain from city to city... After three hours of this, Yuan Chun was exhausted.

Yuan Chun delivered all the remaining grain to the Imperial City’s granary and also sent notes to the top three leaders of the Imperial City.

The Water Storage Treasure can only contain water from three lakes, certainly not enough for the entire nation’s people.

Seeing that it was still early, Yuan Chun took the Water Storage Treasure abroad, making several trips to transport water, and returned home hurriedly just before dawn.

When she got home, Yuan Chun fell asleep immediately.

By the time she woke up, it was already afternoon.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Geng Xiaowen gently tugging at her ear, ”Xiao Wen, Grandma’s ear is almost being pulled off by you.”

”Grandma, you’re awake.” The little one was full of joy, then sensibly said, ”Grandma, were you too tired from working yesterday? Dad and Mom said you were very tired and should sleep more, but you haven’t eaten, and sleeping on an empty stomach is uncomfortable. Grandma, get up and eat before going back to sleep.”

The little one tugged her sleeve, trying to pull her up.

Yuan Chun patted the little one’s head and was about to put on her shoes when Geng Dalin rushed in.

He looked at his mother with red eyes and said, ”Mom, you are finally awake. You’ve been sleeping since yesterday, and we were all worried if you were sick.”

”I’m not sick, just had a lot on my mind last night, didn’t fall asleep until almost dawn.” ℯℯ𝑙.

Yuan Chun put on her shoes and led her grandson out.

Geng Dalin followed behind, saying, ”Mom, is the situation in the county not good? In the future, let me buy things from the county instead, you shouldn’t go.”

”I’m fine.”

”Mom, there’s food in the pot. I’ll bring it for you.”

Geng Dalin suddenly turned, went to the kitchen, and brought out a large bowl of rice and a large bowl of stewed dried beans and bamboo rat meat.

Sun Chunfeng’s cooking skills were quite good, and the food was delicious. After Yuan Chun finished eating, she wanted to find out more about the outside world, but theirs was the only family in the whole village.

There was no radio.

No place to inquire.

Yuan Chun had to instruct 007, ”Spread some information about the outside situation.”

”Host, the food and water you supplied were distributed by the government right away, and now many people fleeing famine outside have heard about the government distributing relief grain.”

”Host, that water also saved many people.”

Those fleeing famine saw water in the lake at dawn, and those in a hurry and who could swim jumped directly into the water and started drinking.

”However, Host, many places still lack water and food. If you wish to save more people, you need to keep striving.”

Yuan Chun looked at the grandchildren learning to weave baskets with Geng Dalin in the yard, smiled, and said cheerfully, ”Second son, I’m going to the woods, I’ll come down the mountain at night. Don’t wait for me for dinner. I might come back very late. Lock the courtyard door from inside, I’ll climb over the wall to get in when I return.”
