Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 76: Chapter 76: The Pitiful Child Killed by Her Uncle 32

The next day, Yuan Chun took the documents and reported to the county hospital.

She completed the formalities, and before she could voluntarily apply to the Xiaxi Team to become a village doctor, the hospital leader called her to the office, saying, ”Mr. Liu, today is your first day on the job. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t assign this task to you, but since you’re from the Xiaxi Team, you’re the only one who can accept this task.”

The statement left Yuan Chun puzzled.

”Director, what task?”

The director hesitated, saying, ”The Xiaxi Team Health Clinic has been established for three years, and the Xiaxi Team leader has applied to our hospital for three years. However, because the place is remote, the village doctor has never been dispatched. Recently, the leaders above have issued an order that a doctor must be dispatched within a month. But... the Xiaxi Team is too far from the county town. The doctors in our hospital are from the county town, most of whom have families and children, making it inconvenient for them to work at the Xiaxi Team, so the personnel have not yet been finalized.”

Upon hearing this, Yuan Chun understood.

What is this?

A sleepyhead finds a pillow?

”Director, do you want to dispatch me to work at the Xiaxi Team Health Clinic?” Yuan Chun asked knowingly.

The director nodded somewhat embarrassingly, ”I know, you just started and don’t meet the qualifications for dispatch, but there’s no other option. You’re the only one from the Xiaxi Team in our hospital. However, I will give you a three-month learning opportunity and increase your salary by three yuan a month as additional allowance. When you come back to the county hospital to collect medicine, I will also ask the colleagues in the pharmacy to take good care of you.”

The director was afraid that Yuan Chun would disagree, so he offered the best conditions he could give within his position.

After all, it was not easy for this young lady to get into college and leave the countryside. Now he had to send her back, and it’s understandable if she was unwilling.

Yuan Chun was cheering inside, but on her face, she calmly said, ”Director, there’s no need for the three-month learning period. I can handle common illnesses now.”

”You have agreed.” The director let out a sigh of relief but still said with some concern, ”Mr. Liu, if you encounter any difficulties, feel free to come to me. I will certainly help if I can.”

”Thank you, Director.”

Yuan Chun went to handle the dispatch formalities and collected a set of medical tools configured for the health clinic doctor, as well as this month’s medicine and injections.

In the evening, the Xiaxi Team held a public meeting to announce this matter.

Aunt Lin happily exclaimed, ”From now on, our village health clinic will have a young doctor. Our villagers won’t need to go to the Gazi Village Health Clinic to ask for help anymore when they get injured or sick.”

The entire village was jubilant.

Only Liu Yuzhu looked at Yuan Chun with eyes full of jealousy.

Yuan Chun felt it but didn’t care.

Just a foolish woman, she cannot harm her.

After the meeting, the team leader said, ”Yuan Chun, the health clinic is full of dust. Tomorrow I’ll have your auntie come to clean it up. The roof tiles also need to be inspected; if there are any broken ones, they must be replaced immediately. If it leaks and the medicine gets wet, the loss will be significant.

”Yes, yes, yes, girl, you’ve just returned. Take two days to rest before starting work.” The old village chief said cheerfully.

The next day, Yuan Chun still went to the health clinic to clean with her aunt.

The health clinic was built next to the village team office and comprised three mudbrick houses. The middle was the consultation room, with just a table and a stool inside.

The left was the storage room, containing a new shelf and a lockable cabinet.

The shelf and cabinet were both empty.

The right was the patient’s resting room, with three single beds and three sets of bedding. All of this was funded by the commune, and tickets were provided to the village team to purchase them.

For the convenience of patients cooking medicine, a kitchen was built outside the back door of the health clinic, containing a small stove and three earthen pots.

Not only could they cook medicine, but meals could also be prepared.

Yuan Chun was very satisfied, fetched a bucket of water, and cleaned the entire health clinic inside and out.

Her aunt took the three sets of bedding down to the riverbank to wash.

Coming back, she dried the bedding and went home to get a hoe to plow a piece of empty land in the backyard.

Her aunt said, ”After work tomorrow, I will plant some vegetables you like to eat. If you don’t want to go home to cook, just prepare some oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar and cook here.”

”Okay, Auntie.”

Yuan Chun responded with a smile.
