Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 63: Chapter 63: The Pitiful Child Killed by Her Uncle 19

Why?

The old man died, why should the grain he grew only go to that money-losing good-for-nothing Yuan Chun, and not to her family,

The grain wasn’t grown by that money-losing good-for-nothing, it was grown by the old man himself, her family should get half as well.

So much grain, only given to her, a money-losing good-for-nothing, why?

Ah ah ah...

Head of the house, I’ve gone mute, I’ve gone mute.

Ah ah ah ah...

Don’t come looking for me, it wasn’t me... it was your son, it’s all your son’s evil scheme, nothing to do with me.

Ge Cuilan started with a fierce look in her eyes, shouting hoarsely, then fell pale-faced to the ground, full of terror.

Suddenly, she scrambled up, dashed back to the room, curled up on the bed, covered herself with the quilt, trembling.

laughed heartily, ”Host, Liu Tiezhu and Ge Cuilan think it’s your grandfather punishing them, hahaha... kills me with laughter, two cowards.”

Yuan Chun’s lips also curved slightly, ”Second Uncle, Second Aunt, what’s happened to them? Is Second Aunt sick? She doesn’t seem normal to me?”

”No, it’s nothing, Yuan Chun, your Second Aunt sometimes says unpleasant things, just ignore her, she has a sharp tongue but a soft heart, no ill intentions, but she’s actually very kind.”

Liu Tiezhu didn’t even believe his own words.

He sighed again, ”Big Brother, you guys just take the grain away, tomorrow I plan to go to the Ge family to ask for money, the Ge family owes me a hundred yuan they haven’t paid back, if the Ge family can’t repay it, then let them use grain to offset it.”

At this time, a jin of corn was only one mao, a hundred yuan was enough to feed Liu Tiezhu’s whole family for a year.

Liu Tielin and Yuan Chun hauled the grain back home.

The next day, Liu Tiezhu and Ge Cuilan went to the Ge family to demand the debt.

At noon, the couple came back with bruised faces.

They didn’t get a penny and got beaten up instead. After returning to the village, Liu Tiezhu didn’t even go home, but went to Second Grandpa’s house to wail.

In the afternoon, Second Grandpa took more than thirty Liu Family Members to the Ge family, not only did they haul back five hundred jin of grain, they also got fifty yuan back.

Liu Tiezhu was moved to tears, bowing to thank the family members.

After receiving the fifty yuan, Liu Tiezhu sewed it into his underwear pocket, letting Yuan Chun, who originally wanted to play the thief one more time, get nothing.

”Hahaha... Host, if you think the money smells, just steal it and throw it away.” 007 laughed, doing somersaults in the System Space.

Little Yuan Chun couldn’t be bothered with it, went home to sleep.

Time came to the autumn of ’58, the villagers had just stored all the grain in the warehouse, when a document came down from above, to establish a production team.

Xiaxi Village also needed to be changed to Xiaxi Team.

The old village chief remained the village chief, but people from the commune came to the village and promoted a team leader and an accountant.

The team leader was Liu Tielin, the accountant was a villager named Wang Huiquan.

Afterwards, the village changed from individual farming to collective labor for work points.

The more work points everyone earned, the more grain they were allocated.

This year, Yuan Chun was nine years old, not yet at the age to work in the fields, so she went up the mountain with other children in the village to gather pig grass, earning two work points for a basket of pig grass.

Yuan Chun kept pace with the other children in the village, a basket of pig grass in the morning, a basket in the afternoon, earning four work points a day.

Though it was little, the grain exchanged was enough for her as a child to be seventy percent full.

In the winter of ’58, another document was issued, to eat from the collective pot.

Under the old village chief’s persistent persuasion, Xiaxi Team’s villagers didn’t sell their grain for the past two years, each household dug a cellar, and bought big jars, hiding the surplus grain in the cellar’s big jars, sealing them tightly so they wouldn’t get damp or infested with bugs.
