Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: The Poor Girl Killed by Her Uncle 31

During the three-year drought, she found various excuses to send the grain and dried chicken, rabbit, and pork stored in her space little by little to the army, for her dad’s comrades to eat.

After sending for three years, there was still one-third left in the space.

It was really too much.

After returning from the county town, she received a message from 007 that two groups of people had come down from the mountain, and another two groups were still on the mountain.

However, in the early spring of ’62, the two groups that had left came back again.

After that, they came and went several times, and some even explored the bottom of the lake but found nothing. However, they never gave up.

It wasn’t until the winter of ’65, when the snow was heavy and they couldn’t endure on the mountain, that they completely gave up.

After that, they never appeared again.

In these years, apart from hunting some small prey on the outskirts of the deep mountains, Yuan Chun never ventured deep into the mountains again, fearing she would leave some trace that might be discovered.

In ’66, Yuan Chun was 18 years old and already a second-year student at Beijing Medical College.

Yuan Chun planned her time well and took the graduation exam in the summer of ’66. While her classmates were excitedly losing their composure, she quietly and obediently waited for her diploma to be issued.

After receiving her diploma, she packed her luggage and boarded the train back home.

For the next ten years, the city would be chaotic, and she didn’t want to live in the city.

She wanted to return to Xiaxi Village.

She loved the tranquility and simplicity of Xiaxi Village.

She loved going up the mountains to gather wild goods, loved hunting, loved the life of having meat at every meal.

”Uncle, I’m back.”

Returning to the village, Yuan Chun put down her luggage and went to the team office to find Liu Tielin, showing him her medical qualification certificate, ”Uncle, look, I got my medical qualification certificate.”

Liu Tielin excitedly took the medical qualification certificate, looked at it for a long time, his eyes a bit red, and said ”Good” three times in succession, ”Good, good, good, Yuan Chun, well done, good child, from now on, you will be a doctor, saving lives and serving the country...”

”Uncle, I don’t want to work in a hospital. I want to work in our village health clinic.”

Liu Tielin immediately became anxious, ”Yuan Chun, our village only has one health clinic, how can it match the benefits of a city hospital...”

”Uncle.” Yuan Chun interrupted him, softly telling him, ”Uncle, it’s really chaotic outside recently, the hospitals will become chaotic sooner or later as well. I’m a pretty girl living in the city, I would be scared. It’s better to return to the village to be a small doctor, with you and Grandpa the village head protecting me, nobody can bully me.”

Liu Tielin immediately fell silent.

Recently, he had heard about the chaos in the city, and even saw it with his own eyes, where there was a group of unreasonable, immoral kids.

Looking at his niece, already grown into a young lady, with fair skin and fine, beautiful features, letting her live alone in the chaotic city was indeed dangerous.

Uncle nodded in agreement, ”Alright, as you wish, just work in the village health clinic, but our village can’t pay you a salary, only work points, ten points a day, calculated as full points.”

”Uncle, no need to calculate work points, I’m assigned to our county hospital, and will report there tomorrow. After reporting, I will apply to work in the Xiaxi Team’s village health clinic; the hospital will still pay me a salary.”

”Good, good, good.”

At this, Liu Tielin was even more pleased.

In the evening, Yuan Chun ate at her uncle’s house. Aunt killed an old hen that no longer laid eggs, and cooked a big pot of chicken and potato stew, giving both chicken legs to Yuan Chun.

Yuan Chun also brought gifts from Beijing for several close families, and everyone in Grandpa’s family received a gift.
