Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 74: Chapter 74: The Poor Child Killed by Her Uncle 30

Liu Hongjun no longer lived like a young master in this life, with everything done for him, from clothes handed to him to meals brought to his mouth. Even the foot washing was done by the original host, and he used the original host’s money to graduate high school, only to exchange the original host for a hundred yuan dowry in the end.

In this life, without the original host serving him, he had to fetch his own foot washing water and also for Liu Tiezhu and Ge Cuilan.

In this life, without the original host’s money, he dropped out after third grade.

Second Uncle had no money to support his education.

After dropping out, Liu Hongjun neither went to the fields to earn work points nor worked; he just played in the village all day, and Second Uncle didn’t care about him. Liu Tielin couldn’t stand it and reprimanded him once, which Second Uncle overheard.

Second Uncle said, ”The child’s still young; he doesn’t need to earn work points. Let him play for a few more years.”

Liu Tielin disagreed.

Second Uncle bitterly added, ”Earning work points in the fields, no matter how much we distribute, it gets stolen. Even if we distribute more grains, it’ll be stolen, too. Why let the child suffer through that? For our family, as long as we don’t starve, we’re fine.”

With that, Liu Tielin didn’t have much else to say.

Everyone in the village knew that if Second Uncle’s family got anything good, it would be stolen the next day.

When Second Uncle’s family was allotted grains, half would be gone by the next day, leaving only enough for the four of them to be barely full and not starve.

So, whether Liu Hongjun earned work points or not, Liu Tiezhu really didn’t care. After all, no matter how many work points he earned, the money would be stolen, and the extra grains would be stolen, too.

Thus, for the past few years, Liu Hongjun did nothing but play.

He became a little thug in the village.

Later, he even learned to steal.

Stealing eggs, sweet potatoes, picking cucumbers, stealing chickens... anything edible, he’d steal.

Became a despised petty thief and thug.

Initially, when people found out he stole, they would go to Second Uncle to complain.

But Second Uncle was just a big rogue; if you complained, he’d smile and say he’d educate the child, but when it came to compensation... his house was even cleaner than a face.

Eventually, everyone stopped complaining; they’d just catch him and give him a beating.

As a result, over the years, Liu Hongjun wasn’t short of beatings.

Liu Hongjun even thought about stealing from Yuan Chun’s house, but every time he approached their yard, his head would hurt as if nails were drilling into it.

Once he came, he felt the pain once.

Very eerie.

Afterward, he didn’t dare come again.

Upon seeing Yuan Chun, he’d avoid her from a distance.

On the other hand, every time Liu Yuzhu saw Yuan Chun, she’d roll her eyes at her in jealousy and hatred, but still didn’t dare to do anything to Yuan Chun.

Yuan Chun loved seeing her with a look that said she wanted to kill her but couldn’t, feeling very satisfied.

In the previous life, Liu Yuzhu relied on her parents and bullied the original host, even taking over the original host’s room and clothes.

In this life, without the original host’s money to support her, without the original host’s clothes and shoes, Liu Yuzhu wore shabby and patched clothes, with so many layers of patches that the original color couldn’t be seen.

Seeing her, Yuan Chun seemed to see the original host from the previous life.

In the autumn harvest of 1961, the groups on the mountain hadn’t left yet. Yuan Chun didn’t dare venture deep into the mountains and could only follow the aunties to gather some mountain goods on the outskirts.

On the second day of the twelfth lunar month that year, she sought out Zhang Jisheng and caused him to die suddenly from a brain hemorrhage.

On the sixteenth day of the twelfth lunar month that year, he was engaged to his first wife and married on the second day of February the following year. The old bachelor, finally marrying, didn’t cherish his wife; even when she was pregnant, he dared to act violently. If not for the baby’s strong survival, it wouldn’t have been born.

Soon after the baby was born, his wife was beaten to death by him.

Later, he married the original host.

She was also beaten to death by him.

Yuan Chun wanted to save that poor woman’s life, so she killed Zhang Jisheng before they even met.

Afterwards, she went to the county town to send some food to Uncle Soldiers in the army.
