Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

BorderlandFlying in this suit, wasn’t that much more imposing than him riding a dragon?

Kuze happily touched the battle armor, then eagerly rushed out of the room, wanting to fly around the town.

”Oh, right! Brother Lin, the magic teacher should be arriving the day after tomorrow. Don’t forget to come find me then. I don’t plan on leaving for a while; I’ll probably stay in this town for a year or two. I’m going out for a quick spin now, don’t leave, I’ll be right back, and then I’ll teach you some basic magic knowledge. You can just look around here for now.”

Kuze turned and finished speaking to Lin Feng, then immediately rushed out the door, opened his jetpack, and soared into the sky. At first, he couldn’t control his direction well, flying erratically, but he quickly adapted and eventually flew quite steadily.

Lin Feng had originally planned to leave directly and return the day after tomorrow, but since Kuze was going to teach him basic magic knowledge soon, he decided to wait.

Kuze’s room was very simply furnished, without much decoration.

However, a map hanging on the wall caught Lin Feng’s attention.

”Why would this guy hang a world map in his room?”

Lin Feng looked at the map, which was identical to the one he had seen in the library before.

At this moment, he suddenly noticed that the giant black hole in the middle of the map had been specially circled by Kuze.

He had also drawn an ’X’ mark.

Could the reason Kuze planned to stay in this small town for a long time be related to this black hole on the map?

Lin Feng remembered that Kuze had said he would leave after only a few days and had even given Lin Feng his home address.

Lin Feng decided to ask Kuze about it indirectly when he saw him later.

After leaving the room, Lin Feng encountered a maid head-on.

”Is that Lin Gongzi? Young Master Kuze asked me to serve you.”

”Ah?”

Lin Feng, who was just about to wander around the courtyard, froze in place.

”Then, then you can take me around the courtyard to see the scenery.”

”Of course, Lin Gongzi, these are pastries freshly made by the bakery. Please have a taste.”

The maid took out an exquisite pastry from a wooden box and brought it to Lin Feng’s mouth. The rich taste of the pastry, mixed with a hint of a young girl’s fragrance, made Lin Feng unable to resist eating the pastry offered to him.

The pastry tasted indeed good, soft and chewy with sweet and sour raisins inside.

..................

After a tour around the courtyard, Kuze also returned just in time.

Perhaps he was a bit rusty with his first landing, as he actually fell directly, but thankfully, he wasn’t seriously hurt.

”Haha! Brother Lin, this suit is simply amazing! It’s just a bit difficult to control the direction.”

”Newcomers are all like this; you’ll get used to it.”

Lin Feng laughed, then quietly released the maid’s small hand.

”In that case, I’ll practice more tomorrow. Let’s go to my room; I’ll explain the basics of magic to you!”

”Go get some food and prepare some good wine. Tonight, Brother Lin and I will have a good drink!”

Kuze instructed the maid, then pulled Lin Feng back to his room.

Back in the room, Lin Feng thought about what he was going to say.

”Brother Kuze, didn’t you say you’d only stay for a few days? Why are you planning to stay for a year or two now?”

”Oh, there’s no harm in telling you about this.”

Seeing Lin Feng ask about the reason for his long stay, Kuze didn’t intend to hide it and spoke directly: ”My family received news that a supreme treasure will appear in the Perimeter Land recently. I happen to be the closest to the Perimeter Land, so the task of finding the supreme treasure was assigned to me.”

At this point, Kuze slammed the table.

”Damn it, if it weren’t for inheriting the family head position, I wouldn’t take this rotten task.”

Kuze picked up his folding fan with annoyance and fanned himself, then came to the map and told Lin Feng when he planned to go and the location where the supreme treasure would appear.

At this moment, Lin Feng realized that this Perimeter Land was originally the black hole in the middle of the map.

”Oh, right, Brother Lin, are you interested? If you are, we can go together. If we go by my dragon, it will only take ten days at most.”

”About that... let’s talk about it later. I am interested, but I’m not sure if I’ll have the time.”

”Alright, if you can come with me, that would be great. I’ll split the treasure with you then. Mainly, I’m just too bored on this journey.”

Kuze sighed, while Lin Feng developed a strong interest in this Perimeter Land.

Just then, the maid from before led several servants in, bringing all the fine wine and snacks.

Seeing these foods, Lin Feng’s appetite was immediately whetted.

Kuze even took out two wine bowls and filled them directly.

The two of them ate and drank like this, eventually finishing two whole jars of wine.

Lin Feng was fine, but Kuze was already swaying drunkenly, unable to speak clearly.

”Brother Kuze, you said this Perimeter Land is clearly in the middle of the map, so why is it called the Perimeter Land?”

Lin Feng saw that Kuze was a bit drunk and wanted to learn more about this place.

”*Hiccup* ~ Because, this place is surrounded by a, *hiccup* ~ tall mountain range, and no creature has successfully crossed the mountains, and the closer you get to the Perimeter Land, the colder the climate becomes. At the same time, this is also the only place in the world that cannot be entered, so, *hiccup* ~, it is called the Perimeter Land.”

Kuze explained vaguely to Lin Feng with hiccups, but fortunately, Lin Feng eventually understood what he said.

”Oh, right! Brother Lin, I, I also heard a legend ~ a legend! Behind these mountains, there’s another world. Although that world is divided into many large and small countries, everyone there has the ability to fly, escape from the ground, and destroy the world.

*Hiccup*! I heard this from an Old Blind Man rambling, so Brother Lin, just take it as a story.”

After Kuze drank the last sip of wine, he fell onto the table with a thud and actually passed out directly.

”This... Alas, then I’ll leave first.”

Lin Feng checked the time, then got up, preparing to return to the Elevator. This guy, he said he’d explain basic magic knowledge to him, but he just got drunk instead??

Lin Feng didn’t pay much attention to the story Kuze told him later.

”Lin Gongzi, are you leaving?”

”Yes, your young master is drunk. Remember to prepare a hangover soup.”

”Of course, Lin Gongzi, take care.”

The maid bowed slightly.

By then, it was already dark. Lin Feng quickened his pace, left the town, put on his battle armor, and flew towards the Elevator.

Just as he was halfway through his flight, the system’s prompt sounded.

”Beep, the floor the host is about to enter is a safe floor. This floor has a large number of entertainment facilities and no rules. The host can choose to enter freely. Any violent incidents on this floor will result in direct teleportation back to the Elevator and permanent exclusion.

Note: The stay on this floor is five hours. After five hours, the stay can be extended by paying gold coins.”
