Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Lin Feng, a banditAt dawn, Lin Feng safely passed his first day in the Mystical World.

Unfortunately, he still hadn’t seen any new villages or Towns.

“Sigh, if it really doesn’t work, I’ll just have to eat this tiger meat raw.”

Lin Feng looked at his surroundings; there was no shortage of wood, but without anything to start a fire, even trying to make one by rubbing sticks together would be difficult.

Moreover, raw meat spoils easily if left out for too long.

Lin Feng took out the tiger meat, which had already turned a bit black, and sniffed it; thankfully, it hadn’t started to smell foul.

He was extremely low on energy right now and needed to eat something to replenish himself.

With a determined look, Lin Feng took a bite, tore off a piece of meat, and chewed it vigorously.

After more than ten minutes, the piece of meat was finally swallowed by Lin Feng.

“Hiss... why is it so tough...?”

Lin Feng rubbed his cheeks; not only was the meat hard to chew, but it also tasted terrible—very fishy, with a faint hint of decay.

He wasn’t sure if it had gone bad.

After walking another dozen kilometers along the mountain path, Lin Feng finally saw people, but...

“Kid, hand over all your valuables!”

Lin Feng looked at the bandits in front of him, feeling quite speechless.

“Big Brother, I don’t even have a single copper coin on me, just this piece of raw meat. Do you want it?”

He was someone who couldn’t even afford a cup of tea, how could he be so unlucky as to be targeted by bandits??

If it weren’t for this being the Mystical World, Lin Feng would have started fighting long ago. Would he still be speaking so politely to a bandit?

But being in the Mystical World, he didn’t dare underestimate anyone.

Perhaps even a three-year-old child could have the strength to kill an ox with one punch!

“No money?!”

“Chief, this kid does look quite poor.”

The junior bandit, seeing his boss get angry, quickly tried to appease him in a gentle tone.

“Big Brother, I really don’t have any money. Look at me, I haven’t eaten for two days. Just a short distance back, a group of... greenwood heroes just asked me for protection money!”

“Greenwood heroes? Haha, I like that title! Alright, you can go. Looking at you, you can’t even afford money!”

“Alright, good! See you, Big Brother.”

Lin Feng’s heart filled with joy, and he lifted his leg, ready to leave.

“Wait!”

“What’s wrong?”

Damn, this guy who looked like Black Whirlwind couldn’t be going back on his word, could he??

“Do you want to join us? Let’s grow stronger together and create new glory!”

“Uh...”

Lin Feng didn’t know how to choose for a moment. His current situation was indeed not very good. Following this group of bandits should allow him to eat his fill, but...

“Alright, Big Brother, if you think highly of me, I’ll work with you!”

What ’but’?! What could be more comfortable than having enough to eat?

Lin Feng immediately agreed to join the gang.

“Hahahahaha, good, good, excellent! Then you’ll be our gang’s Third Chief! This is the Second Chief, Han Yong, and I’m the Chief, Kui Feifei!”

“Me, Third Chief?”

“Yes! Brother, you don’t look like an ordinary person at first glance, so making you the Third Chief is definitely the right choice! What’s your name?”

“Uh, my name is Qin An.”

“Good! A good name! Let’s go, we’re returning to the stronghold!”

Kui Feifei happily put his arm around Lin Feng’s shoulder and then led him towards the mountain forest.

Lin Feng was still a bit stunned at this moment.

How did I become the Third Chief directly??

Wait! This so-called gang... could it really just be two people??

........

Soon, Lin Feng saw their “stronghold,” or rather, a campsite.

Two small huts built from wood and animal hides.

In the middle, there was a stone table and four stone stools.

Besides that, there was nothing else.

Despite this, Kui Feifei, as the Chief, was still very happy and pulled Lin Feng and the Second Chief, Han Yong, to perform a sworn brotherhood ceremony.

Lin Feng also found it hard to refuse their warm invitation.

He could only follow the two and complete the sworn brotherhood ritual in front of a clay idol.

“Third Brother! From today onwards, we are true brothers, though born of different fathers and mothers! From now on, we share blessings and misfortunes!”

“Share blessings and misfortunes!”

Han Yong also said excitedly, then brought Lin Feng a bowl of wine.

“Share blessings and misfortunes!”

Lin Feng, feeling a bit numb, finished speaking and then drank the wine in the bowl.

The wine wasn’t strong, had little taste, and was a bit cloudy; it probably wasn’t good quality.

“Hahahaha! Second Brother, quickly get Third Brother something to eat, didn’t he say he hasn’t eaten for two days!”

“Alright, Big Brother.”

Han Yong quickly put down the wine bowl and then ran into one of the huts to search.

A moment later, he emerged with a dry, hard flatbread and a pot of water.

“Hehe, conditions are limited, Third Brother, please make do with this for now.”

“It’s fine, it’s good to have something to eat, I’m not picky. Oh, by the way, Big Brother, can we roast this meat? It’ll go bad if left too long, let’s eat it together.”

“Right, right, right, Second Brother, quickly go and roast this meat! Today at noon, we’ll eat meat heartily and drink wine in big bowls!”

Kui Feifei quickly took the tiger meat from Lin Feng’s hand and said to Han Yong.

“Alright, Big Brother!”

This piece of tiger meat weighed about two or three catties; it wasn’t even enough for Lin Feng alone, let alone for three people to share. However, Lin Feng didn’t fuss over it too much, as they seemed to genuinely treat him like a blood brother.

After taking a bite of the flatbread, Lin Feng chewed it in his mouth.

The flatbread was very dry and hard, but when eaten with water, one could taste a faint salty flavor and the spiciness of pepper.

The taste was still acceptable.

Such a flatbread was only about half a catty. Although it would expand a lot with water, it was still not enough for Lin Feng to eat.

Kui Feifei also noticed Lin Feng’s appetite and knew he wasn’t full, so he took out another flatbread for Lin Feng to eat.

On the other side, Han Yong had already started roasting the meat.

As for seasonings, there was only salt, but being able to eat was good enough.

Soon, three slightly charred pieces of meat were brought over.

Lin Feng, Kui Feifei, and Han Yong each took one piece.

“Good, this meat is delicious!”

Kui Feifei finished his in two or three bites, licked his fingers, and showed a lingering expression, and the Second Brother Han Yong was much the same.

Lin Feng had also witnessed the extent of their poverty.

This was practically no different from survival, wasn’t it??

After eating, Kui Feifei took Lin Feng down the mountain to do “business,” while Han Yong stayed at the stronghold to build Lin Feng’s sleeping quarters for the night.

Arriving at the foot of the mountain, the two stood there waiting for a moment but couldn’t wait for any travelers.

“Big Brother, are there any villages or Towns nearby?”

Lin Feng felt that waiting like this, hoping for luck, wasn’t a solution. If they wanted to make money, they had to go to places with more people.

“Yes, about twenty li to the west is Song Village. That village has over three thousand households.”

“Are there any cultivators?”

“No, all those in the village who can cultivate have gone to Cloud Mountain Sect, and they usually only return to the village once a year.”
