Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Make money, make money!“But that village is also under the jurisdiction of the Cloud Mountain Sect. If we were to rob the village, it would be no different than seeking death.”

Kui Feifei still thought Lin Feng intended to rob the village, so after analyzing the situation, he stated their inevitable outcome.

“Uh… who said anything about robbing the village? If we want to make money, robbery is far too inefficient. Let’s go to the village first; maybe I have a better idea.”

Lin Feng chuckled, then had Kui Feifei lead him to Song Village.

As a modern person, making money in a place similar to feudal society shouldn’t be too difficult, right?

However, before going to Song Village, Lin Feng still needed to simply cover his face. After putting on a mask, he set off with Kui Feifei.

Their speed was not slow, and in a short while, they had walked about twenty li and arrived at Song Village.

A village with over three thousand households could no longer really be called a village; its scale was already comparable to a small town.

The village was quite lively. Lin Feng walked around and found that there were many merchants selling goods there.

At this moment, Lin Feng noticed a place ahead where many villagers were gathered.

And from time to time, sounds of frustration and cheers could be heard.

“This… it looks a bit like gambling.”

Lin Feng scratched his head, then squeezed into the crowd with Kui Feifei.

These were all ordinary villagers; even if they were strong, their strength was only a little over ten points, so Lin Feng easily squeezed in.

The vendor surrounded by the crowd was a middle-aged man.

In front of him was a wooden box.

“Pinball machine?”

Lin Feng’s heart filled with joy when he saw the wooden box in front of him.

Isn’t this how he’s going to make money?!

He never expected to encounter such a classic scam in this world.

A pinball machine is where you shoot a marble, and each slot represents a different amount of money; you win whatever the marble lands on.

Usually, in this kind of game, you can easily win when you try it out, but in actual play, you can’t get it in every time.

Actually, there’s a reason for this.

The boss’s hand usually touches the wooden box, or he holds something in his hand and inadvertently touches the pinball machine.

Through the mechanism above, he controls whether you can make money, although most of these games later used electronic remote controls for the mechanism.

But in this world, they must still be controlling the mechanism by hand.

“As expected.”

Lin Feng observed carefully and chuckled. The boss’s hand never left the pinball machine from beginning to end.

He always touched the pinball machine with the back of his hand.

Although it looked like nothing, in Lin Feng’s eyes, this was controlling the mechanism.

The principle of this machine is very simple, but people who play it for the first time generally don’t notice it.

And this vendor uses this point to make money; if he can’t make money here, he moves to another place.

“Boss, how do you play this thing?”

“Ten coins per play. You get whatever you hit.”

The boss said with a smile.

“I’ll play once.”

Lin Feng patted Kui Feifei, who looked at Lin Feng and whispered.

“Third Brother, can we win this? We only have ten coins left.”

“Don’t worry, I have a plan.”

Lin Feng took the money and handed it to the boss. Usually, in the first round, the boss will let you have a taste of success.

Sure enough, Lin Feng won ten coins on his first try, just enough to break even.

The largest denomination on this pinball machine was a hundred coins, and the marble was a glass ball.

“Little brother, if you had used a little more force just now, you might have won fifty more. Want to try again?”

“Again!”

Lin Feng handed over the copper coin, then prepared to continue. At the same time, he kept observing the boss’s hand. Seeing that the boss wasn’t going to touch the mechanism, Lin Feng calculated his strength and shot it out directly.

This time, he was lucky, and the marble steadily entered the hundred-coin slot.

The surrounding crowd immediately let out gasps of surprise, as this was the first time anyone had won a hundred coins.

Kui Feifei, who was beside him, was also very excited.

Ten coins turned into a hundred coins in just two seconds!

Damn it! It really is more profitable than robbing!

“Little brother, your luck is good. Here’s your money. Want to try another round?”

The boss said with a forced smile, enticing Lin Feng to play again. He hadn’t expected Lin Feng to be so lucky, directly multiplying his money tenfold, so he was really afraid Lin Feng would quit while he was ahead.

That would be a huge loss.

“Again!”

Lin Feng threw over another ten coins.

The boss immediately smiled at his words.

Then his hand inadvertently touched the pinball machine with the back of his hand.

“Boss, can you take your hand off? This game shouldn’t be touched.”

“Uh… that, you have a point, hahaha.”

The boss awkwardly pulled his hand back, thinking, could this kid know how this thing works?

In the next few minutes, Lin Feng consecutively won three hundred-coin prizes.

The boss was getting restless, and the people around him also became excited.

Winning a hundred coins every time, his luck was too good!

The fourth time, Lin Feng still won. This time, the boss couldn’t sit still anymore.

He coughed, then secretly slipped a piece of silver into the copper coins he handed to Lin Feng.

Feeling the different weight of the copper coins, Lin Feng smiled.

At this moment, the boss’s eyes also held a hint of pleading.

Pleading with Lin Feng to let him go.

“Oh, it seems my luck is indeed good, and the boss is very trustworthy; he gives money as promised. I won’t overdo it. I’ll be leaving now.”

Lin Feng stood up and stretched, emphasizing the words “overdo it.”

His meaning was to tell the boss not to overdo it, or he would expose this little trick.

After Lin Feng left, the onlookers who had witnessed Lin Feng making money tenfold immediately started playing the game.

In the end, of course, those who lost lost, and those who left left, and the boss indeed didn’t dare to overdo it. After breaking even, he packed up his equipment and ran away directly.

“Third Brother, why did you stop playing? That was such a profitable business!”

Kui Feifei asked curiously.

“Haha, Chief, do you think the boss would be willing if I kept winning? This was just a trick to deceive people anyway. Never mind that, now that we have money, how about we buy some food and drinks and go back to celebrate properly?”

“Good! I’ve long heard that the food at the Song Village Inn is delicious. Today, we’ll try it!”

Kui Feifei said grandly, as if he were paying.

The two ate and drank heartily at the inn, and finally packed some food to take back to their second brother.

This meal ultimately cost two hundred coins, mainly because Lin Feng ate too much.

But the price was indeed a bit expensive, though the taste was still very good.

By the time they returned to the stronghold, it was already evening.

Han Yong had also finished building the wooden house, and after learning about Lin Feng’s money-making exploits, he greatly admired Lin Feng.

Finally, Kui Feifei laid out the food and wine, and the three began to eat and drink heartily.

However, the alcohol content of the wine was a bit hard to describe; even Lin Feng, who didn’t drink much, could drink several bowls without his face turning red.
