Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 142: Chapter 137: Blood Demon Statue, Solar Flare

”Insect Swarm! Move out! Kill every member of the Blood Demon Sect!”

Qin Yu let out a low roar.

Amidst a piercing cry, the Thunder Roc soared into the sky, charging toward the Blood Demon Sect members nearby.

In the courtyard below, the ground suddenly bulged upward.

Over two hundred Qi and Blood Realm Rapid Insects roared as they burst from the earth.

A crack of thunder exploded.

Blinding bolts of lightning struck with precision, hitting the Blood Demon Sect members locked in fierce battle with the Demon Suppression Bureau and turning them to ash.

The violent boom made many Demon Suppression Bureau members on the ground look up.

”The Qin Family is making its move! Those are the Qin Family’s War Beasts, hold your fire!”

In the eastern part of the city, the Demon Suppression Bureau and Evil Suppression Bureau Army, who were fighting the Blood Demon Sect, immediately shouted out.

They had grown accustomed to the sight of the Qin Family’s flying War Beasts crisscrossing the sky over the past few days.

However, the reinforcements who had been secretly dispatched were unaware.

A faint tremor ran through the ground, like a cavalry charge.

Over two hundred Qi and Blood Realm Rapid Insects sprinted down the streets. Some even leaped onto the rooftops, charging directly into the front lines of the battlefield under the watchful eyes of the Evil Suppression Bureau Army.

ROAR!

With roars, the Rapid Insects became a blur of afterimages. Sharp blades sprang from their backs as they plunged into the bloody mist, clashing with the physically mutated members of the Blood Demon Sect.

Scythe-like arms fell, and flesh and blood flew everywhere!

Their sheer ferocity made even the slaughter-hardened members of the Demon Suppression Bureau twitch.

The sudden appearance of reinforcements greatly reduced the pressure on the eastern side of the city.

Qin Wenyuan’s expression was grim, but he didn’t stop Qin Yu at this moment.

He also gathered his power and unleashed a sword strike at the sky, but it couldn’t even shake the Blood Sea Array.

”We have to find a way to break this array! If the Bishui River Dragon King arrives with a huge Demon Army, we’ll be in big trouble,” Qin Mohe’s face was dark.

The Blood Sea Array was a well-known array of the Blood Demon Sect.

The array’s greatest feature was trapping enemies.

Its offensive power was average.

But once inside, even experts of the same realm would find it difficult to break out quickly.

”Fellow Daoist Wan! Let’s join forces and break this array!”

High above, Chen Jianqiu’s heart sank. He knew, of course, that the Bishui Dragon King was lying in wait a hundred li away.

The moment the battle began in the city, it would likely rush over.

If they were trapped inside the array then, it would be a dead end!

The General’s reinforcements were tens of thousands of li away. Even if they set out immediately upon receiving the news, the long journey would take considerable time.

If they couldn’t hold out until reinforcements arrived...

...their fate was easy to imagine.

”General Chen, did the Demon Suppression Bureau not have a contingency plan for this operation? Are you the only one taking action?”

Wan Yongchang’s usually amiable face was now grim.

Smashing a Prefecture City’s Treasure Pavilion was one thing.

But for even him to be dragged into this, facing the threat of death, was infuriating.

”Of course we did. I did not come here alone. General Zhang Han is also here, but right now he and another elite unit from my Demon Suppression Bureau are outside the city, intercepting the enemy!”

Chen Jianqiu’s face was like iron, his hand gripping his longsword tightly.

’Knowing the Blood Demon Sect was plotting something, how could I have come unprepared?’

Two Demon Suppression Generals!

They had mobilized a full thirty-two elite Demon Suppression Teams from the County City and even the surrounding Prefecture Cities. This was a force more than capable of suppressing the Blood Demon Sect.

But who would have known their opponent would be the Bishui River Dragon King?

”What? Intercepting the enemy outside the city? The Blood Demon Sect has more experts?!”

Wan Yongchang’s pupils contracted. Given the Blood Demon Sect’s strength in Yunlong County, mobilizing even one Primordial Mansion Realm expert was a rare feat. The Demon Suppression Bureau only had three Primordial Mansion Realm Demon Suppression Generals.

”It’s not the Blood Demon Sect, it’s the Bishui River Dragon King! It’s leading a large force of underwater demons this way. Zhang Han is trying to buy us time.”

”Otherwise, if that horde of demons enters the city, it’s all over.”

Chen Jianqiu didn’t hide anything. His voice spread out, allowing the experts from the hundred-plus large and small factions within the city to hear him clearly.

Many people’s faces changed dramatically on the spot.

If it were just the Blood Demon Sect members inside the city, they could have joined forces and annihilated them in the blink of an eye!

Two Primordial Mansion Realm experts, over a hundred Qi Sea Realm experts, more than two thousand Qi and Blood Martial Artists, and tens of thousands from the Evil Suppression Bureau Army to support them.

At most, the Blood Demon Sect could have caused a bit of chaos.

But the Bishui River Dragon King?

That was a Great Demon at the Late Stage Primordial Mansion Realm.

In the water, even an ordinary Myriad Phenomena Master might not be able to handle it!

And how many demons were in the Bishui River?

That was a number chilling enough to make one’s blood run cold.

”The Bishui River Dragon King? Has it gone mad? How dare it collude with the Blood Demon Sect?”

’I see now. It probably has gone mad.’

’It wants to use the Blood Sacrifice Power to break through to the Realm of Myriad Phenomena?’

”That’s like asking a tiger for its hide—a death wish!”

Wan Yongchang’s face turned ashen.

He was, of course, aware of the matter between the Bishui River Dragon King and the Canglan River’s Dragon Consort, but he never expected to get caught up in it.

”Everyone, attack together! This array won’t last long!”

”Attack together! How can a mere array possibly stop so many of us?”

”The Blood Demon Sect are bastards!”

”Kill every last member of the Blood Demon Sect!”

Figure after figure shot into the air, glaring furiously at the sky. A monstrous pressure radiated out, causing the rampant arrogance of the Blood Demon Sect throughout the city to falter.

Instantly, be it beams of saber light, torrents of Sword Qi, or bombardments of Secret Techniques, everyone erupted in unison. Led by the two Primordial Mansion Realm experts, Qin Clan Members like Qin Wenyuan and Qin Zhengyuan, as well as experts from other families and Sects, all unleashed their power.

No matter how deep their grudges, they had to break out first.

The overwhelming aura made even Mo Yuzi, high in the sky, flinch.

But then, a savage grin spread across his face.

SWISH!

With a wave of his hand, a ten-foot-tall, Three-Eyed Divine Statue with three heads, six arms, a green face, and long fangs appeared, hovering in mid-air.

’I dared to seal the entire city, so how could I not have a few tricks up my sleeve?’

”Hahaha, none of you can even think of escaping! Today, you will all become sacrifices!”

Mo Yuzi laughed maniacally. The Three-Eyed Divine Statue was completely soaked in blood, and an extremely bizarre aura emanated from it.

The statue seemed to tremble slightly, releasing waves of incredibly dense, bloody mist that merged into the Blood Sea Array.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Amidst the violent explosions, the Blood Sea Array trembled but showed no signs of breaking.

”A Blood Demon Statue?”

Chen Jianqiu let out a low cry. The Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi in a radius of several hundred meters roiled violently, coalescing into a hundred-meter-long Ice Sword that shot into the sky, stabbing fiercely at the churning bloody mist.

The Ice Sword shattered and dissolved inch by inch, and the bloody mist was also consumed at a frantic rate.

But in the end, it still couldn’t break through.

”This is big trouble. The Blood Demon Sect’s blood sacrifices everywhere were probably all for today! Who knows how much blood and how many resentful spirits are stored inside this Blood Demon Statue.”

”Until its Blood Sacrifice Power is depleted, it’s impossible to break through, even for a Primordial Mansion Realm expert.”

Qin Mohe, who was standing guard by Qin Yu’s side, couldn’t help but pale.

’The Blood Demon Statue!’

Qin Yu had seen this thing before. Back in the Tiger Demon Cave, he had seen a three-foot-tall Blood Demon Statue, and that one had been prepared for Cyan Peak County.

’Cyan Peak County wasn’t the only target.’

During this period, many small villages and even towns had been attacked.

Zoushan County, for example!

”The Blood Sea Array isn’t the key. Mo Yuzi is just stalling for time. Under this kind of bombardment, even with the Blood Demon Statue, it won’t hold for long.”

”The problem is the Bishui River Dragon King!”

Qin Yu shook his head slightly, contemplating whether to have the Insect Swarm break the array first or to intercept the Bishui River Dragon King, who was rapidly approaching from outside the city.

He looked up and out of the city.

The river water surged. No longer concealing its presence, the Bishui River Dragon King roared and took flight, followed by a massive host of Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals.

Ten li outside Bishui City, a figure like an iron tower stood in the air above the river.

”Deploy the Nine Heavens Sealing Demon Formation!”

”Yes, sir!”

A grim voice responded from behind. With nine black Flying Ships as the core, Array Banners connected by chains flew out and plunged into the river.

A moment later, a thick fog rose from nowhere, shrouding the surface of the Bishui River.

’No time to hesitate.’

’Break the array!’

’First, break this array and save the city’s people! We can worry about the rest later.’

He had no confidence in killing a Primordial Mansion Realm expert.

But attacking a stationary target like this array was all too easy for the Insect Swarm.

”Sixth Elder, I have some hidden forces outside the city that can help break the array. This force is a hidden strength of our Qin Family.”

A smile traced Qin Yu’s lips.

”Break the array first, then we’ll talk!”

Qin Mohe’s heart leaped. He knew Qin Yu had a formidable team of War Beasts, including four at the Qi Sea Realm. Bringing them out now for a pincer attack from both inside and out might be effective.

”Good!”

Qin Yu nodded slightly and then looked to the sky. At an altitude of ten thousand meters, Heaven-Burning Fire Crows, each with a wingspan of over thirty meters, flew over, escorted by a large group of Thunder Rocs and Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles.

A full eighteen hundred Heaven-Burning Fire Crows at the Peak of the Qi and Blood like a Dragon level!

Each one had a greatly swollen abdomen.

This was because they had stored too much Energy internally, leading to the gestation of a massive number of Flame Blade Insects.

’This is the strongest attack I have!’

’I call this move... Solar Flare!’

At that thought, ten li away, the abdomens of the eighteen hundred Heaven-Burning Fire Crows split open.

From within their honeycomb-structured abdomens, giant Flame Blade Insects—half a meter in diameter and over three meters long—flew out, jets of flame shooting from their tails.

What they lacked in power, they made up for in numbers!

To maximize their destructive capability, these specially bred Flame Blade Insects had sacrificed some of their speed to push their attack power to the absolute limit! They would be difficult to land on a master.

But against a stationary target like this...

...it was a guaranteed hit!

After instantly locking onto their target in mid-air...

...these 1,800 souped-up Flame Blade Insects screamed through the air, streaking toward the Blood Sea Array ten li away.

SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

A full eighteen hundred streaks of fiery Flowing Light, accompanied by a piercing whistle, shot through the air, instantly capturing everyone’s attention.

Even Mo Yuzi, who was controlling the Blood Sea Array, couldn’t help but look.

Even the other Demon Suppression General, Zhang Han, who was holding the line above the river, glanced over.

What was that?

Mo Yuzi was just about to act.

But how could Demon Suppression General Chen Jianqiu and Wan Yongchang below give him the chance?

They immediately launched a frenzied assault, forcing him to focus all his energy on stabilizing the Grand Array.

The Blood Demon Statue spewed mist, desperately trying to stabilize the array.

BOOM!

The first Flame Blade Insect slammed into the roiling blood mist, violently exploding into an incredibly dazzling mushroom cloud that covered a hundred-meter radius.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A continuous, frantic series of explosions from the Flame Blade Insects set the entire sky above Bishui City ablaze. The terrifying scene made even Primordial Mansion Realm experts like Chen Jianqiu and Wan Yongchang look on in horror.

The Blood Sea Array churned.

The crimson canopy let out an overwhelmed wail amidst the unending, destructive blaze, and a web of cracks instantly spread across the sky!

Mo Yuzi violently coughed up blood, a look of utter shock in his eyes.

The Blood Sacrifice Power stored in the Blood Demon Statue was being consumed at an astonishing rate. The Array Banners maintaining the array’s power were groaning as if on the verge of collapse.

Each of these explosions was almost comparable to an attack from a Qi Sea Realm Martial Artist!

That was like the attacks of 1,800 Qi Sea Martial Artists.

And the most terrifying part was that, under the Insect Nest’s precise control, these Flame Blade Insects had focused almost all their explosive power on the exact same area, pushing the force endured by the Blood Sea Array to its absolute limit.

”This?! How is this possible!”
