Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 106: Chapter 104: A Qi Sea Realm of the Insect Swarm Sweeps the Battlefield

”Third Brother!”

The Mountain-Splitting Demon King joyfully rushed out of the underground cavern. However, as it looked up at the sky, its joyous expression abruptly darkened into one of sheer astonishment.

There hovered a Three-legged Fire Crow, its entire body ablaze with golden flames.

Yet, its size was a full magnitude larger than the Red Feather Demon King. Flames seemed to dance upon its dark red wings, and its life aura was entirely distinct from that of its fallen brethren.

”This is... an enemy!”

Earthy-yellow light surged from the Mountain-Splitting Demon King’s body. It stared at the Three-legged Fire Crow in the sky, bracing for a deadly threat.

Evidently, this was the Insect Swarm’s version of a Three-legged Fire Crow. The Insect Nest had incubated it using the Red Feather Demon King’s Demon Pill and mangled corpse as a core, fusing them with Insect Race genetics and a massive amount of Fire Element resources!

Amidst the fierce slaughter of the battlefield, the Three-legged Fire Crow had finally been born.

”I was still a step too slow, actually letting this Mountain-Splitting Demon King destroy the Insect Nest! After this is over, I need to be more cautious when placing the Insect Nest. I must also master knowledge regarding Arrays as soon as possible,” Qin Yu sighed emotionally, his consciousness attached to the body of the Three-legged Golden Crow.

The Three-legged Golden Crow had been incubating long before the battle began. However, the stronger the unit, the longer it took to spawn, and the incubation method for this specific Three-legged Golden Crow was incredibly unique.

It had taken nearly a full day for it to finally be born.

On the battlefield, relying on its extraordinary defensive prowess and Earth Manipulation abilities, the Mountain-Splitting Demon King was virtually invincible. Not a single Insect Race unit could delay it for even a moment.

Facing such a formidable foe without a matching High Tier unit, there was only one choice left to kill it: outlast it! They had to use the sea of insects to slowly grind it to death!

Qi Sea Realm experts could manipulate Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi, absorbing it to rapidly recover. But through his research on the Red Feather Demon King’s corpse and Inner Core, Qin Yu knew this method of recovery wasn’t particularly efficient.

As long as the damage inflicted exceeded its absorption rate, it could be worn down to nothing.

Under normal circumstances, defending against the attacks of three to five Qi and Blood Realm experts was enough to make its energy consumption outweigh its recovery. Although the Mountain-Splitting Demon King had withstood the Thunder and Lightning Joint Attack, its expenditure must have been astronomical!

The continuous barrage from the other units only exacerbated this drain!

But now, there was no need for such a tedious method.

SCREECH!

A cry brimming with tyranny resounded through the clouds.

The Three-legged Fire Crow opened its beak. Flapping its wings with extreme speed, it dove down and spewed a beam of golden flame, condensed to the absolute limit, straight at the rock-covered Mountain-Splitting Demon King.

”True Sun Fire?”

The Mountain-Splitting Demon King’s expression turned grim. This Three-legged Fire Crow was actually insane enough to use a desperate, last-resort technique right from the start!

Although the Three-legged Fire Crow possessed a trace of the Golden Crow Bloodline, unleashing the True Sun Fire was still exceptionally difficult. It was a last-resort trump card meant only for life-and-death struggles!

RUMBLE!

Not daring to take the blow head-on, the Mountain-Splitting Demon King channeled the surrounding Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi into the ground, raising another thick, heavy earthen wall to shield itself.

HISS!

The True Sun Fire collided with the rocky bulwark. There was no violent explosion; instead, it emitted a sound akin to a red-hot iron plunging into cold water!

Before the Supreme Yang and Firm nature of the True Sun Fire, the thick rocky wall melted and crystallized at a visible rate. Even through its heavy Rock Armor, the Mountain-Splitting Demon King felt a wave of scorching heat!

The Rock Armor on its body began to glow red-hot, yet it didn’t dare to dispel its defenses.

Almost simultaneously, the rest of the Insect Swarm made their move. The remaining two hundred Thorn Snakes on the battlefield burst forth from the ground in unison, violently spitting out a sky full of Blade Insects.

In an instant, over a thousand Blade Insects shrieked through the air.

They sliced into the fiery-red rocky bulwark. Because of the True Sun Fire continuously spewed by the Three-legged Fire Crow, the intense heat scorched the tough outer shells of the Blade Insects the moment they drew near.

Then, they violently detonated.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The chain of explosions instantly shattered the rocky bulwark, which had already been superheated by the flames, blowing the Rock Armor right off the demon’s body.

Following closely behind was another attack from the Thunder Rocs in the sky!

Thunderbolts flashed brilliantly!

The terrifying might of the incoming assault made the Mountain-Splitting Demon King’s eyes go bloodshot with fury.

If it were solely the joint attack of the Thunder Rocs, it could have withstood it while standing upon the earth. But under continuous attrition, the Primordial Power within its body had fallen below half its total capacity.

If it had to face the combined onslaught of lightning strikes, Blade Insects, and True Sun Fire simultaneously, there was no way it could survive. That was a force capable of total destruction!

It even sensed the Needle-spine Crawlers slithering beneath the earth, rapidly breaking through the soil!

In the blink of an eye, it was pushed to the absolute brink of despair.

This was the deterrence brought by an expert of the same tier.

With a unit of equal strength keeping the enemy pinned down, the entire Insect Swarm could attack with impunity, drastically elevating their hunting efficiency.

”ROAR!”

Bellowing furiously, the Mountain-Splitting Demon King abandoned its defenses and sent its massive frame hurtling across the ground in a frantic sprint.

But the exact moment it dropped its guard, the scorching True Sun Fire engulfed the last remnants of Rock Armor clinging to its body.

”Die! All of you, die! Wrath of the Earth!”

The Mountain-Splitting Demon King madly pushed its internal power to the limit. The earth instantly coalesced into over a hundred massive rock spikes, each a full ten meters long.

The second they formed, the earthen projectiles launched into the sky.

Their targets were none other than the Thunder Rocs in the air and the diving Three-legged Fire Crow.

RUMBLE!!!

The fiery glow on the Three-legged Fire Crow’s talons surged violently, crushing the incoming boulders to dust, but its diving momentum was completely halted in the process.

Crackling thunderbolts clashed against the sky-filling barrage of rock spikes.

As the lightning violently struck the Mountain-Splitting Demon King’s body, its final layer of Rock Armor ruptured, exposing the Scale Armor underneath. The impact tore its flesh open.

However, the price for this was a dozen Thunder Rocs in the sky failing to dodge in time. Pierced through by the rocky spikes, they spilled blood across the battlefield and plummeted to the earth with mournful cries.

”The final struggle of a cornered beast!” Qin Yu thought, his consciousness hovering in the sky as he looked down at the wretched Mountain-Splitting Demon King. The fact that it had suffered injuries meant the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi within its body was running dangerously low.

And right now, there were over twenty thousand Insect Race units on the battlefield!

Kill!

The surrounding Insect Swarm roared as they charged forward. Rapid Insects, Poison Burst Insects, and cockroaches surged forth like a tidal wave. As for the other Demon Fiends, they had long since routed and fled.

The moment the Three-legged Fire Crow emanated its terrifying oppressive aura from the sky, every Flying Demon Fiend had scrambled for their lives. Even the Demon Fiends who had been barely holding their ground under the Mountain-Splitting Demon King’s coercion suffered a total morale collapse.

”Ants! Get lost!”

The Mountain-Splitting Demon King let out a desperate, unwilling roar. If it were in its peak condition, it wouldn’t fear these weak Insect Race units no matter how many there were. It wouldn’t even need to launch proper attacks; mere rams and stomps would have been enough to carve a bloody path out of the encirclement.

But now, with its internal power depleted, the Three-legged Fire Crow looming above, and a massive flock of the Flying Insect Race glaring like tigers watching their prey, how could it possibly hold on?

It didn’t even dare to take flight.

Once it took to the sky, it would lose the sanctuary of the earth. In its current state, it would be reduced to nothing more than a plaything for the Three-legged Fire Crow!

The Three-legged Fire Crow excelled most in speed! Even if it wanted to put its life on the line for a desperate attack, it wouldn’t be able to catch its opponent. Furthermore, those terrifying Thunderbolt attacks were more than enough to completely finish off its already wounded body!

As it sprinted madly, the rushing Rapid Insects were trampled into a bloody mist beneath its feet. But in the next second, several managed to leap onto its body, swinging their scythe-like arms.

Flesh and blood splattered!

The Mountain-Splitting Demon King roared in agony. Snapping its jaws, it crushed the Rapid Insects to death and continued its frenzied sprint. ℯ

Only by escaping this battlefield did it have any hope of survival. Only by restoring its Primordial Qi and healing its wounds would it have the strength to exact revenge.

However, how could the Three-legged Fire Crow and Thunder Rocs in the sky possibly allow it to escape?

Lightning and flames rained down from the heavens.

They relentlessly bombarded its body, accompanied by a massive swarm of shrieking Blade Insects.

Amidst the endless explosions, the Mountain-Splitting Demon King’s roars grew fainter and fainter.

By the time its colossal frame was entirely swarmed by Rapid Insects and its Scale Armor and flesh were thoroughly embedded with Blade Insects, the sprinting Mountain-Splitting Demon King finally collapsed with a thunderous crash.

Its life aura rapidly faded away.

The Mountain-Splitting Demon King had perished!

The final Demon King of Three Immortals Mountain had ultimately fallen beneath the endless, relentless assault of the Insect Swarm.

”Clean up the battlefield, rest on site! Spawning a new Insect Nest!”

Looking at the finally slain Mountain-Splitting Demon King, Qin Yu swiftly issued his orders. Even the Thunder Rocs descended onto the Fungal Mat to rest and replenish their Energy. Only the Three-legged Fire Crow flew off into the distance.

The Demon Fiends of Three Immortals Mountain were wiped out, but that Flood Dragon and the Blood Demon Sect were still out there!
