Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 110: Chapter 107: The Bloodline Curse of the Dragon Race

As an expert at the Peak of the Sea of Qi Realm with the bloodline of the Bishui River Dragon King, Ao Hua displayed combat power that far exceeded the former Mountain-Splitting Demon King, even while heavily injured!

Especially in this underwater environment—his home turf—his ability to manipulate water currents was amplified to terrifying heights.

The underwater forces of the Insect Swarm fell in droves.

Even though he was already covered in wounds from the relentless pursuit—his scale armor shattered piece by piece and blood pouring from a massive gash on his abdomen—the enraged Flood Dragon King still slaughtered them like a wolf among sheep as he thrashed his hundred-meter-long body. Before him, even a Profound Flood Dragon seemed as small as an infant.

With a single bite, he snapped their bodies in half.

The hill-sized Profound Armor Cyan Ao charged forward, only to be sent flying by a whip of his tail, its carapace completely shattered.

If this were an ordinary army of Demon Fiends, they would have fled long ago in the face of this one-sided slaughter and his terrifying dragon aura. Yet, the Insect Swarm’s offensive did not falter in the slightest. They coldly executed their orders, charging forward without any fear of death.

More units surged forward, stepping over the fallen to continue the assault. They sprayed highly toxic acid, corroding his seemingly indestructible dragon scales.

In the sky, the Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles also erupted. No longer holding back their dwindling energy, they birthed and spat out even more Blade Insects.

During the continuous pursuit, to maintain their deterrence against the Flood Dragon King, the aerial units of the Insect Swarm had kept up a constant barrage of attacks. Even with constant rotations, the energy reserves within these Insect Race units were running low.

The Insect Swarm also had to obey the law of conservation of energy. Although they had Microscopic Insect Nests inside their bodies that could continuously spawn Blade Insects, doing so still consumed energy!

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Thousands of Blade Insects plummeted from the sky with a whistling sound, plunging into the water and setting off violent explosions.

The river churned. The riverbed, which was merely a hundred meters deep, kicked up massive waves.

The massive number of Insect Swarm corpses that piled up in such a short time dyed the water into a Blood River. Yet, no matter how the Flood Dragon King slaughtered them, an endless stream of the Insect Race continued to rush out.

After killing thousands of Insect Race units, the wounds on Ao Hua’s body multiplied. Though the cuts weren’t deep, they constantly drained his primordial power and stamina. Prolonged bleeding combined with consecutive battles was too much to bear, even for a Flood Dragon.

Looking at the Insect Swarm units that were actually increasing in number, the raging fury in his heart subsided, replaced by a rising chill.

These were definitely no ordinary Demon Fiends!

Any intelligent lifeform would possess the primal instinct of survival. Even the elites of the Bishui River Dragon Palace couldn’t possibly maintain such fearless, suicidal attacks in the face of this kind of massacre!

He thought, ”I can’t let them wear me down any longer! I must escape—through the sky!”

He abruptly looked up at the water’s surface. Although there were also massive numbers of flying Insect Race units in the sky, compared to the desperate situation underwater, it was his only path to survival!

Through the continuous attacks, he had long noticed that the flying units chasing him were also reaching their limits. If even an expert of the Qi Sea Realm like him couldn’t withstand it... how could these flying Insect Race units?

”ROAR!”

He let out a resolute dragon’s cry, shattering the water’s surface as he soared into the sky, carrying a massive torrent of water with him!

SPLASH!

Enormous splashes erupted like a waterfall flowing in reverse.

Almost the exact moment he broke out, over a hundred Thunder Rocs desperately unleashed the last remnants of their energy, spitting out arcs of lightning that merged into a combined strike in midair.

However, having intentionally breached the surface multiple times during his flight, the Flood Dragon King was already well aware of this move’s power and its flaw. Although its might was formidable, it required a certain amount of time to charge up.

That brief window was enough for him to mobilize the surrounding Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi, manipulating the water currents to form a shield in front of his body to block this wave of attacks.

The Flood Dragon King did not forcefully charge upward. Instead, he let the torrent of water shoot into the sky while he plunged back into the depths of the river.

CRACKLE!

Blinding thunderbolts exploded over the river. Flashing arcs of electricity eradicated massive swaths of the Insect Swarm within a kilometer radius. Only the Profound Flood Dragons and Profound Flood Dragon Cyan Aos that were further away barely managed to withstand it.

Hundreds, even thousands of Sharp-toothed Catfish charging at the very front were electrocuted to a crisp!

Reality was not a game; there was no such thing as damage immunity.

With a massive swath of the surrounding Insect Swarm cleared out and the Thunder Rocs unable to launch another combined strike in time, Ao Hua let out a frenzied roar and charged out once more, sweeping up a skyward torrent of water.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

In midair, an endless rain of ice crystal arrows shot toward the Black Thorn Eagles and Thunder Rocs, colliding with the rapidly descending Blade Insects and triggering violent explosions.

Amidst his roars, the Flood Dragon King brandished his sharp claws, tearing apart any Black Thorn Eagles that drew near, while his dragon tail smashed the pouncing Thunder Rocs to pieces.

A rain of blood poured down!

Faced with the suddenly erupting Flood Dragon King, these flying units—already heavily depleted from the previous pursuit and combat—were at the end of their ropes. They could hardly stop this massive dragon body that was a full hundred meters long.

Yet even so, none of the Black Thorn Eagles showed a hint of hesitation. They continuously spat out Child Gu and Blade Insects, inflicting fresh wounds all over the similarly exhausted Flood Dragon King’s body. Some Blade Insects even successfully parasitized inside him.

”Who exactly are you?! Why are you making an enemy out of me? Do you know that I am a Dragon Prince of the Bishui River Dragon Palace? How dare you make an enemy of the Bishui River!”

Amidst his furious roars, Ao Hua finally broke through the last layer of Black Thorn Eagles and soared higher into the sky.

There was no reply.

All the Thunder Rocs and Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles shrieked as they flapped their wings, following closely behind him. They constantly launched attacks, but they could only watch as the massive Flood Dragon flew further and further away.

”All of you will die!”

Having finally escaped the encirclement, a heavily scarred and exhausted Ao Hua—whose aura had withered after consecutive bursts of power—turned his head to look at the Thunder Rocs trailing behind him. He let out a roar filled with anger, yet tinged with the exhilaration of triumph.

The Dragon Race was inherently skilled at riding the clouds and mounting the mist. If they were Thunder Rocs at the Qi Sea Realm, their speed would definitely surpass his. But how could a mere flock of creatures at the Blood Sea Realm possibly catch up to him?

However, in the very next moment, the previously triumphant Ao Hua stared at the distant horizon in panic.

A streak of golden-red Flowing Light, like a falling star tearing through the firmament, was hurtling rapidly in his direction.

A Three-legged Fire Crow!

”The Red Feather Demon King of Three Immortals Mountain? No, this isn’t his aura! No! Who exactly are you?!”

His triumphant voice dissolved into panic. There was absolutely no emotion in the golden pupils of the rapidly approaching Three-legged Fire Crow.

It opened its beak, and all the True Sun Fire stored within its body instantly erupted forth!

Its very first move was an absolute killing blow!

Ao Hua fought for his life. His Dragon Pearl flew out of his body, instantly condensing the surrounding Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi into a massive torrent of water that shot toward the True Sun Fire.

HISS—

The True Sun Fire and the water collided, emitting a sharp sizzling sound. The water evaporated into a white mist that blanketed a radius of several hundred meters.

Having already been heavily injured from the running battle and enduring consecutive bursts of exertion, Ao Hua was entirely spent! How could he possibly be a match for the Three-legged Fire Crow going all out?

The incomparably scorching golden flames pierced through the sky-filling water torrent and landed squarely on Ao Hua’s massive body.

The golden flame, which appeared only as thick as an arm, violently ignited upon contact with his huge frame.

Amidst the sizzling sounds, Ao Hua roared in fury. If he were at his peak, how could this kind of flame possibly defeat him? Even if the flames touched him, he could have quickly extinguished them by mobilizing the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi.

But his injuries were too severe!

The primordial qi within his body was completely exhausted. Even his Dragon Pearl, which he had spat out in a desperate bid for survival, was easily snatched up by the Three-legged Fire Crow’s sharp talons. He couldn’t even retrieve it.

”My royal father will avenge me! You will all die!”

Amidst agonizing wails, Ao Hua’s body plummeted powerlessly from the sky. With his dragon eyes burning with unwillingness and fury, he finally slammed heavily into the mountain forest below with a deafening BOOM.

The Three-legged Fire Crow slowly descended, preparing to deliver the final blow to end him completely.

But suddenly, a sphere of blood-red light rose from the Flood Dragon’s body, which had lost all power to resist and whose life aura had already begun to dissipate. As if crossing the distance of time and space, the blood-red light instantly rushed into the Three-legged Fire Crow’s body. A bizarre mark appeared on its frame, flashing with a light of extreme resentment before finally vanishing.

”Is this a bloodline curse?”

Qin Yu, whose consciousness was attached to the Three-legged Fire Crow, looked down at the fallen Flood Dragon King, Ao Hua, in surprise and uncertainty.

He had heard tales in certain legends. The Dragon Race was extremely arrogant. Once a true member of the Dragon Race was killed, the killer would be cursed. All dragons would be able to sense this curse and would hunt them down!

”The Bishui River Dragon Palace? Just as I expected, none of these major factions are easy to deal with!”

However, he didn’t feel too much panic or anxiety. The one cursed by the bloodline was the Three-legged Fire Crow, which didn’t affect the Insect Swarm as a whole. At worst, he would just have the Three-legged Fire Crow hide far away and avoid the Bishui River.

”Clear the battlefield! It’s finally over. Now, we can focus on developing in peace for a while.”
