Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 122: Chapter 118: A Storm is Brewing, Qin Yu’s Decision

Through this network, Qin Yu could instantly know of any disturbance within Bishui City.

Only the remaining twenty percent was red.

This red area represented the Demon Suppression Bureau’s treasury, the Treasure Pavilion, and the core territories of other major families and powerful factions.

Qin Yu was not an inflexible person.

If possible, he absolutely wouldn’t mind using other means to directly obtain Secret Techniques from the Treasure Pavilion or the Demon Suppression Bureau.

The simplest way would be to dispatch units skilled at stealth, like rats or centipedes, to infiltrate their Library Pavilions and inspect the various Secret Techniques within!

However, after trying, he found it wasn’t feasible for now.

For example, the Demon Suppression Bureau’s Library Pavilion was protected by an Array. One had to pass through multiple layers of screening to enter.

And even if one did get inside, the Cultivation Techniques were also guarded by Arrays. Each book required a specific Token to be accessed, leaving no loopholes to exploit.

In this world, many factions possessed Insect Control and Beast Taming abilities.

The Five Poison Sect was a prime example.

Many Gu Insects had peculiar abilities. If factions like the Demon Suppression Bureau and the Treasure Pavilion had no countermeasures, they would have been looted clean long ago.

Within the Bishui River, a large area was also covered in gray.

Large numbers of ordinary fish, spawned by the underwater Insect Nest, were continuously exploring outward from the center of the Bishui River.

’Just as I suspected, there are indeed factions within Bishui City that have secretly pledged allegiance to the Blood Demon Sect, and they’re quite powerful.’

Qin Yu sneered. Even a small place like Cyan Peak County had spies from the Blood Demon Sect.

How could Bishui City not have any?

Under the careful surveillance of the Insect Swarm’s reconnaissance network, he quickly discovered anomalies and caught their trail. They were now under watch.

From the slums to the Noble Families within the city, he had already discovered three strongholds with considerable hidden strength.

’The item the Blood Demon Sect has been searching for might be this Inheritance Key.

But why do they want to perform a blood sacrifice in Bishui City?

Is it a diversion, or part of another plot?

The Bishui River Dragon Palace, the Five Poison Sect inheritance... with so many things happening at once, I’m afraid the Bishui River’s Demon Suppression Bureau won’t be able to handle it all.’

As these thoughts churned in his mind, Qin Yu’s gaze shifted toward the Wilderness Mountain Range.

A few days had been enough for the Insect Swarm to completely digest all the flesh and blood. The swarm, which originally numbered 40,000, had now recovered to 60,000.

Furthermore, among them were five thousand units with the combat power of the Qi and Blood Realm!

And four with the power of the Late Stage Qi Sea Realm!

This was the source of his confidence.

’Ordinary Martial Artists don’t matter. The main concern is the Qi Sea Realm, and even the possible appearance of the Primordial Mansion Realm!

I need more flying units!

I need to hatch more Thunder Rocs, and I also need to speed up the development of the Daoist Soldier Technique.

As long as I can mobilize the power of the swarm in unison, its overall strength will increase dramatically. I’ll even have a fighting chance against a Primordial Mansion Realm expert.’

Resolve shone in Qin Yu’s eyes.

He didn’t necessarily have to get involved, but he had to make the necessary preparations.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to seize the opportunity when it arrived.

Once the Fungal Mat was spread, it constantly acquired a large amount of Energy, no longer relying solely on Hunting.

Over the past few days, he had invested a massive amount of resources into developing the Daoist Soldier Technique.

The Insect Swarm had almost completely grasped the essence of the Taoist Soldier Secret Technique, ”Wind and Thunder Cavalry.” Its core was using a special Array to link the swarm’s power together.

At this moment, in Snake Valley, one could see densely packed Array patterns appearing on the bodies of the Thunder Rocs, including the Red Feather Demon King.

The precious resources purchased from the Treasure Pavilion had been used on them, with the Red Feather Demon King as the core, commanding the power of eighteen Thunder Rocs.

Once successful, this would become another major trump card for the Insect Swarm!

Relying on the Insect Swarm’s Insect Sea Tactic, he would have a fighting chance even against a Primordial Mansion Realm expert.

After a moment of contemplation, Qin Yu directly contacted his father, Qin Hu, who was in Bishui City.

WHOOSH—

The White Jade Falcon perched on Qin Hu’s shoulder exhaled a frosty mist, which coalesced into the form of Qin Yu.

”Father, the Five Poison Sect inheritance has appeared. Bishui City is no longer safe. All the major factions will likely send people, and the auction will be extremely dangerous.

You should return to Cyan Peak County for now.”

The White Jade Falcon spoke, briefly explaining the situation.

”The Five Poison Sect inheritance? It’s highly likely that the remnants of the Red Scorpion Sect deliberately leaked news of the treasure. Otherwise, word wouldn’t have spread so quickly.”

Qin Hu furrowed his brow. The timing was too tight.

”Our negotiations with the Demon Suppression Bureau aren’t settled yet, and the partnership with the Evil Suppression Bureau Army hasn’t been finalized either...”

He had been working nonstop since arriving in Bishui City and had acquired many properties. If he suddenly left now, the subsequent losses would be significant.

”Those things aren’t important. They’re just material possessions.”

Qin Yu shook his head. That small amount of wealth meant nothing to him.

”So we just give up on all this? This is just one Inheritance Key, not the emergence of the actual inheritance. Even if we get it, it’s only a chance.

The Treasure Pavilion sent me a message as well.

There are supposedly five Inheritance Keys. Only by gathering all of them can the location of the inheritance be known. The fight this time is only for a single key.

It will take time for the other factions to arrive.

I’ll leave after I’ve handled these matters.”

Qin Hu said in a deep voice.

If obtaining the key was enough to open the inheritance, the Red Scorpion Sect would have taken it for themselves long ago instead of auctioning it off.

Even the fastest of the other factions would need a day or two to get here.

”No, what I mean is that I’ll be coming over.”

Qin Yu said.

His father had just entered the Qi and Blood Realm, making him one of the weakest at that level. Even with the protection of the Insect Swarm’s Elite Units, the risk was still too high.

But he was different.

”You? Weren’t you planning on not coming to Bishui City so soon?

With this news spreading, the Commandery City’s Zong Family will probably send people. If I’m not here, how will you contact them?”

Qin Hu, however, frowned.

He knew Qin Yu’s strength was increasing at an astonishing rate, but for that very reason, he was even more reluctant to let his son be exposed to the public.

In just one month, his strength had soared from the Body Forging and Flesh Refining stage to the level of Qi and Blood like a Dragon!

That was a leap of one entire major realm and seven minor realms!

It was too outrageous.

Anyone would become suspicious.

This was not a good thing for Qin Yu.

”Don’t worry, Father. I’ll go with a different identity. Changing my appearance is not difficult for me. As for the Commandery City’s Zong Family, I know how to handle them.”

Qin Yu naturally understood his father’s worries.

But for the Dominator of the Insect Swarm, even without the aid of the Insect Nest, slightly adjusting his appearance was a simple matter given his absolute control over his body.

As for the Zong Family, once the news reached them, they would almost certainly send someone.

The other three great families of the Commandery City, as well as several Sects, would not pass up this opportunity either.

The ’Celestial Wind Ancestor’ was nearing the end of his lifespan. The Five Poison Sect’s inheritance might contain life-extending methods, Celestial and Earthly Treasures, or other such things.

He would be even less likely to let it go.

”Change your appearance?”

Qin Hu breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed Qin Yu hadn’t let his rapid increase in strength go to his head. With his power, plus that absurdly strong Insect Swarm, it was indeed possible for him to get a piece of the pie, or even seize the key.

’The auction?’

’Perhaps because of the Treasure Pavilion’s reputation and strength, the various factions wouldn’t dare to rob it directly.

But after the auction, a bloody battle was sure to erupt!’

Qin Hu had a general idea of the Insect Swarm’s strength. Qin Yu hadn’t hidden the battles at Three Immortals Mountain or against the Lake Bottom Flood Dragon from him, so he knew about the swarm’s situation in the Wilderness Mountain Range.

He was even more aware of the Insect Nest hidden beneath Cyan Peak County.

”Since you’ve made your decision, we’ll do it your way. I’ll take care of business here as quickly as possible and then leave on the Black Thorn Eagle.”

Qin Hu said.

After the two discussed the details, Qin Yu ended the communication.

He didn’t rush off to Bishui City. Instead, he turned and walked toward his mother’s courtyard. The Insect Nest had also been analyzing the Cultivation Technique his mother practiced, the Cyan Wood Formula, for the past two days.

With the Insect Swarm’s understanding of the human body, after some simplification, the Cyan Wood Formula became much gentler and easier to learn, though its killing power was reduced.

It had essentially been turned into a longevity skill.

So, Qin Yu simply renamed it the ”Cyan Wood Longevity Skill.” Although it consumed more resources, that was of no concern to him.

After all, he just wanted his mother to live a long life. When it came to fighting, why would he ever need her to act?

His father was also right.

Commandery City and Bishui City were thousands of miles apart. Even if the Treasure Pavilion sent the news through special channels, it would still take time for them to arrive.

Arriving before the auction would be considered fast.

There was no need for him to rush. He had no intention of breaking the promise he made to his mother about her Cultivation.
