Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 119: Chapter 116: Marriage Proposal and Mother’s Cultivation

”A marriage proposal?” Qin Yu was dumbfounded. He hadn’t expected his mother to suddenly bring this up.

What young man didn’t dream of romance? Even though he had lived two lifetimes, he was currently just an eighteen-year-old youth. It was perfectly normal and completely unsurprising for him to harbor thoughts about the opposite sex.

”What is it? Have you taken a fancy to a particular young lady?” Ouyang Xue looked at Qin Yu with a smile.

”Mother, what are you thinking? I am still prioritizing my Cultivation. My strength is currently in a phase of rapid improvement. In a few days, I will be able to step into the Qi and Blood Like Dragon Realm. After that, I will attempt a breakthrough into the Qi Sea Realm!” Qin Yu decisively shook his head. ”As for these families in Cyan Peak County...”

If he were to look for a partner, it certainly wouldn’t be in Cyan Peak County. Rather than entertaining such thoughts, he might as well go to the Moon Viewing Tower in Bishui City to listen to some music; that would be much more comfortable.

”Attempt a breakthrough into the Qi Sea Realm? That’s true. With your Talent, the legitimate daughters of these minor families in Cyan Peak County truly aren’t worthy of you. You should at least go to the County City to find a suitable match!” Ouyang Xue looked momentarily startled, but a smile quickly returned to her face. ”However, if you’re interested, you could always take a concubine first.”

The day after Qin Yu received that special legacy, she had seen the bizarre Insect Nest. It was capable of rapidly spawning a massive number of Insect Race warriors, and their growth rate was terrifyingly fast. Now, it could even spawn Profound Flood Dragons and Profound Ice Foxes at the Qi and Blood Like Dragon Realm. It wasn’t hard to understand how Qin Yu’s own strength could reach the Qi and Blood Like Dragon Realm to challenge the Qi Sea Realm. After all, even more outrageous things had already happened.

”Take a concubine? Forget it. There’s no rush for this right now; we can talk about it later. I am confident that it won’t be long before I can break through to the Qi Sea Realm,” Qin Yu shook his head. ”A Qi Sea Martial Artist has a lifespan of two hundred years, and I am only eighteen. Moreover, I don’t want outsiders to know about the legacy I’ve obtained, or it could bring about a great disaster.”

If he were merely looking for a plaything, there was no need to go through so much trouble. But as for taking a wife or concubine, with his current standards and strength, he truly couldn’t find anyone appealing around here. If he were to share his bed with someone, it would be extremely difficult to keep the secret of the Insect Swarm hidden. While he trusted his parents implicitly, others were a different story.

He decided to forget about it for now! Once his strength reached a higher level, what kind of woman wouldn’t be available to him? The legitimate daughters of Noble Families, Saintesses of Sects, or even enchanting women from Demon Sects... This world was vast, and he intended to see it all!

At the very least, his partner should be at the level of Li Wanqing, right?

”You make a valid point. We won’t consider this for now. I’ll go and decline the offer for you!” Ouyang Xue’s expression turned serious.

A Qi Sea Martial Artist was a top-tier powerhouse in Bishui City and a first-rate expert even in the County City. Even the Patriarch of the ’Celestial Wind’ Qin family in the County City was merely at the Peak of Qi Sea! With her son’s Talent and fortunate encounters, he might actually have a chance to step into the Primordial Mansion Realm—just like the ancestor of the Qin family—or perhaps reach an even stronger realm! Such an incredible opportunity definitely needed to be kept strictly confidential.

”Thank you, Mother. It just so happens I also have some things I want to discuss with you,” Qin Yu said. ”Mother, do you wish to take up Cultivation? I can’t promise you’ll gain immense strength, but it will at least strengthen your body and grant you longevity.”

As the Dominator of the Insect Swarm, as long as he didn’t perish along the way, he was destined to have an incredibly long life. But his mother was different; she was just an ordinary person. Even relying on Elixirs, living to a hundred would be her absolute limit. That was a reality Qin Yu simply couldn’t accept.

”Cultivation?” Ouyang Xue sighed. ”I tried when I was young, but my Talent and aptitude were simply too poor to achieve much. Besides, I’m already older now.”

In a world where Martial Arts flourished and supreme power belonged to individuals, who wouldn’t want to pursue Cultivation? Yet, Talent was an insurmountable threshold blocking the path for most people. Those overflowing with natural gifts could step over it with ease. Much like his father—and even Qin Yu himself in the past—who only possessed average Talent despite being born into a wealthy family, they had trained bitterly for years only to remain stuck in the Body Forging Realm. Knowing her Talent was mediocre, his mother had naturally given up long ago.

”Mother, as long as you want to pursue Cultivation, none of that is an issue! I can find a gentle Cultivation Technique for you. By consuming a bit more resources, reaching the Qi and Blood Realm won’t be a problem at all. It’s not even impossible to step into the Qi Sea Realm in the future,” Qin Yu said in a deep, reassuring tone. ”Right now, the entire Wilderness Mountain Range is under my control, and its resources are inexhaustible! With enough resources, it won’t be long before Father can also break all the way through to the Qi and Blood Like Dragon Realm!”

Over the past few days, he had collected quite a few Cultivation Techniques. In the Treasure Pavilion, there were incredibly violent ones like the *Wind and Thunder Treasure Mirror* that tempered the entire body during Cultivation, but there were also gentle ones like the *Water Element Skill* and the *Cyan Wood Formula*.

As the Insect Swarm analyzed these various techniques, it gained a profound understanding of the very essence of Cultivation.

In the first two realms of Cultivation, the Body Forging Realm was divided into four stages: skin, flesh, sinew, and bone. The Qi and Blood Realm utilized the five internal organs—the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys—as Qi and Blood Melting Furnaces. Each stage Enhanced one organ, corresponding to the manifested forms of Qi and Blood: wolf, tiger, bear, elephant, and dragon.

However, at its core, this was simply a process of Enhancing the body from the outside in. It didn’t involve any profoundly mysterious Laws or Mental Realms. It could be forcefully achieved entirely through stacking resources. By having the Insect Swarm continuously analyze the data and using himself as a test subject, Qin Yu now had a crystal-clear understanding of how to practice Cultivation Techniques!

Just like the *Wind and Thunder Poison Dragon Technique*, tailor-making a gentle Cultivation Technique for his mother would be a piece of cake. The same went for his father.

It was just a pity that they couldn’t use the Cultivation Room in the Insect Nest. The corrosiveness of the Insect Swarm was far too strong. As the Dominator of the Insect Swarm, it didn’t affect him, but it was hard to say what catastrophic consequences an ordinary person might suffer.

”Really?” Ouyang Xue’s eyes lit up. If given the chance, who wouldn’t want to walk the path of Cultivation? With a wave of a hand, one could burn mountains, boil seas, and command the very winds and clouds!

”Of course it’s true. Just give me a couple of days, Mother. I have a few Cultivation Techniques here that are exceptionally gentle to practice. They don’t require much strenuous effort and should suit you perfectly,” Qin Yu said with a smile. ”For example, the *Water Element Skill*. The highest good is like water; it nourishes all things without competing. Although it is relatively weak in combat, it can guide Water Spirit Qi to cleanse the body. Practicing it can nourish your bones and allow you to retain eternal youth. Or perhaps the *Cyan Wood Formula*. It is similarly lacking in killing power, but as they say, wood governs the revival and growth of all things. Cultivating it will revitalize your vitality and grant you longevity. Due to the powerful Life Force it provides, it can even bestow eternal youth!”

Fusing multiple Cultivation Techniques together like the *Wind and Thunder Poison Dragon Technique* was extremely difficult, but taking an already gentle technique and making it even milder was much simpler. It didn’t matter if the improvement was a bit slow; he just needed to throw more resources at it. After all, his mother didn’t need to fight anyone; her primary goal was to prolong her life. These kinds of techniques were ideal.

”Longevity and eternal youth?” Sure enough, his mother’s interest was immediately piqued.

She certainly wasn’t adept at fighting, but what woman wouldn’t be drawn to the promise of eternal youth? She was nearing forty; no matter how well she maintained herself, wrinkles were inevitably beginning to appear on her face.

”Haha, it’s absolutely possible!” Qin Yu laughed.

He went into detail about the two Cultivation Techniques with his mother. The light in her eyes grew brighter and brighter until she looked entirely eager to begin.

”I did dabble in Cultivation in the past, and my physique leans towards the Wood Attribute,” Ouyang Xue said after pondering for a moment. ”If I am to practice, this *Cyan Wood Formula* you mentioned should suit me better!”

”The *Cyan Wood Formula*? Alright. I will carefully deduce it further over the next few days to make this Cultivation Technique easier to learn and practice.” Qin Yu nodded. This made things simple.

The *Cyan Wood Formula* was a Gamma-level Low Grade Technique. One of its greatest characteristics was the ability to absorb the vitality of vegetation and feed it back into the practitioner. It strengthened the five internal organs, particularly the liver, ensuring that the human body remained brimming with Qi and Blood and possessed a vigorous Life Force.

After contemplating it in his mind for a moment, he formed a solid plan.

”Mother, there is one more thing. Now that my strength has improved, the Martial Arts Arena in our estate is a bit too cramped. Since you’re also going to start Cultivation and will need a Cultivation Room, we might as well buy up the surrounding courtyards and expand.” Qin Yu had originally intended to bring this up, and now it served multiple purposes at once.

”That’s easy. Since the overall strength of our Qin family has increased so much, the Qin Residence naturally ought to be expanded. I’ll handle this matter myself,” Ouyang Xue smiled warmly. The Qin family didn’t lack money; these were just trivial matters. ”However, how you want to arrange the Martial Arts Arena will be entirely up to you.”

”Great! I’ll just have the Insect Swarm handle the construction,” Qin Yu said with a grin. The Worker Insects were master builders, so there was no need to worry about something so trivial. Besides, he planned to use this opportunity to have the Mimic Fungal Mat cover all the gardens in the Qin Residence.

When his mother practiced the *Cyan Wood Formula*, she would absorb the vitality of the surrounding vegetation. Perhaps he could control the Mimic Fungal Mat to actively cooperate with her Cultivation. If successful, it would make improving her Cultivation even easier. Paired with the power of Elixirs, her progression would still be rapid despite her older age.

”If you have a plan, then go ahead and do it!”

After finalizing everything with his mother, Qin Yu took his leave. He then went to find his second uncle, Qin De, who worked in the County Yamen, and similarly gifted him a War Beast at the Qi and Blood Like Dragon Realm for protection.

He also communicated with his father to ascertain his thoughts. Unlike his mother, though his father’s Talent was equally average, he possessed an ambitious drive. He wouldn’t settle for a simple health-preserving Cultivation Technique; he wanted a method focused on killing and combat. Qin Yu could help deduce a technique for him as well.

Once he had arranged everything properly, Qin Yu stayed home and focused peacefully on his Cultivation for two days. Meanwhile, the Insect Nest was frantically deducing and running various tests.

Finally, when he was absolutely certain that there were no flaws in the *Wind and Thunder Poison Dragon Technique*, he made his move.

BUZZZZ—

The ground beneath his feet silently split open as a Needle-spine Crawler burrowed out. It enveloped Qin Yu and sank deep underground, bringing him into the Insect Nest located five hundred meters beneath the surface.
