Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 136: Chapter 131: Bishui River Dragon King, a 400,000-Strong Insect Swarm Army

A dragon!

A true dragon in every sense of the word!

With the antlers of a deer, the body of a snake, the claws of an eagle, and the scales of a fish, its vigorous and agile form stretched nearly two hundred meters long. It was far more massive than the Flood Dragon King, exuding an aura of majestic authority as it swam without even needing to bare its fangs.

Its imposing presence was at least thirty percent stronger than that of the Demon Suppression General, Chen Jianqiu.

Behind him trailed a massive retinue of Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals, forming a dense, overwhelming black mass. Wherever they passed, all the fish and shrimp at the bottom of the river trembled and sank to the riverbed, yielding the way.

”The Dragon King is on a patrol? Is he also here to attend the auction in Bishui City?” Qin Yu wondered, doubt rising in his heart.

That shouldn’t be the case, right?

While the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance held significant value for human Martial Artists, it offered little use to the Dragon Race beyond mere resources. The two simply belonged to entirely different cultivation systems. Furthermore, true dragons possessed their own innate bloodline inheritances. These inheritances, passed down from ancient times, were far beyond what ordinary Sects could compare to, and likely even surpassed the Five Poison Sect.

When the Insect Swarm had analyzed the bloodlines of the Flood Dragon King and the Red Feather Demon King, they had discovered hidden inheritance information within. Unfortunately, these inheritances were sealed by some sort of Genetic Lock. Forcefully breaking them was far too difficult—at least, a Tier Two Insect Nest was incapable of doing so.

”Keep an eye on them!”

With a single thought from Qin Yu, the surrounding scouting Insect Swarm sprang into action. His relationship with the Bishui River Dragon Palace could hardly be considered amicable; after all, the Flood Dragon King’s corpse had been turned into hatching materials for the Insect Swarm. Moreover, the curse lingering on the Red Feather Demon King was incredibly eye-catching.

Sooner or later, a battle between the two sides was inevitable. Qin Yu had long coveted the untold resources hidden within the Bishui River, which stretched for tens of thousands of miles.

The Bishui River Dragon King’s destination was clear—he was heading straight for Bishui City!

Along the way, disguised units of the Insect Swarm kept a distant watch. However, the Bishui River Dragon King remained completely oblivious, or perhaps he simply wouldn’t care even if he did notice. If these watchers were Enlightened Demon Fiends daring to maintain a continuous gaze, a Primordial Mansion Realm demon fiend could easily detect the anomaly. But if they were just ordinary fish devoid of intelligence, no one would pay them any mind.

This held true in Bishui City, and it was the same within the Bishui River.

The Bishui River Dragon King’s patrol moved swiftly. Their underwater procession also carried an air of stealth. Unexpectedly, when they finally arrived a hundred miles away from Bishui City, they came to a halt and quickly began to set up an Array.

Having just obtained the family array inheritance from the Zong Family elders, Qin Yu easily recognized the formations they were establishing and immediately sensed that something was amiss.

”Besides the outermost defensive and Killing Arrays, they are also setting up a Blood Sacrifice Array?” Qin Yu wondered in alarm.

A Blood Sacrifice Array!

He already knew that the Blood Demon Sect was secretly attempting to rope in the Bishui River Dragon Palace. He had also heard rumors of a Dragon Consort assassinating the Bishui River Dragon King’s other heirs, though he was unclear about the underlying reasons.

”They come with ill intentions!” he thought.

As large groups of Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals mobilized beneath the water, planting Array Banners into the riverbed under the guidance of an old turtle, a sense of unease rose within Qin Yu.

He feared that the Bishui River Dragon King had already colluded with the Blood Demon Sect! With three Blood Sacrifice Arrays located inside Bishui City, and the Song Family controlling thirty percent of the city’s grain and oil business, what exactly had they been up to during this time? Qin Yu’s heart grew heavy with worry.

The Insect Swarm’s scouting network had spread rapidly, but it was still too late. Furthermore, these scouting units were merely ordinary snakes, insects, birds, and beasts. While their concealment was exceptional, they also had flaws. They could not sense energy fluctuations and were unable to infiltrate certain heavily guarded secret locations.

In his study, Qin Yu sat in his chair, his fingers unconsciously tapping against the desk as thoughts raced through his mind. He didn’t want to expose the Insect Swarm prematurely, but he also refused to witness a tragedy like the one in Zoushan County happen again—a scene of streets littered with corpses and every household wailing in grief. If a similar disaster were to unfold in Bishui City, the consequences would be far more catastrophic.

”The Insect Swarm cannot take the lead in this matter, nor can the Qin Family. I need to leak the information and inform the Demon Suppression Bureau!” he decided.

If the Demon Suppression Bureau didn’t shoulder this burden, who would?

”Inspector Liu mentioned earlier that they were preparing for the blood sacrifice on the Laba Festival. That was likely just a smokescreen, or perhaps they decided to act in advance because of the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance.”

With these thoughts swirling in his mind, Qin Yu did not rush into action. Instead, he submerged his consciousness into the Swarm Mind Network.

The most eye-catching detail was undoubtedly the sheer number of the Insect Swarm, which had broken past four hundred thousand! Among them, over two hundred and sixty thousand were combat units, with the number of those in the Qi and Blood Realm exceeding thirty-two thousand!

The swarm’s overall combat strength was more than ten times greater than it had been during the great battle against the demon fiends of Three Immortals Mountain. The key to this tremendous growth lay in the ever-expanding workforce of Worker Insects!

A full one hundred and eighty thousand Worker Insects. With their coordination, mining operations had commenced across more than a dozen large-scale mineral veins within the Wilderness Mountain Range, providing abundant resources to incubate High Tier Units for the Insect Swarm. Aided by the Worker Insects, the wildly expanding Fungal Mat was spreading at an ever-accelerating pace. With the Fungal Mat gathering energy and the Worker Insects excavating resources, the Insect Swarm’s numbers were able to snowball rapidly.

This was an unstoppable force. With over thirty thousand Qi and Blood Realm units, a single volley or combined strike would give Qin Yu absolute confidence in wiping out the vast majority of factions within Bishui City in one fell swoop!

Quantitative changes lead to qualitative changes.

When the scale of the Insect Swarm reached a certain threshold, its overall strength underwent a qualitative transformation. Moreover, with abundant Energy and resources, the swarm’s explosive growth in numbers was accompanied by comprehensive enhancements across all other aspects. The emergence of the Microscopic Insect Nest, along with the increased power and diverse variants of the Blade Insect, had drastically improved the individual attack capabilities and striking range of the Insect Swarm.

The introduction of Arrays empowered the swarm to execute coordinated collective attacks and defenses. Coupled with the Cultivation Method Deductions tailored specifically to elevate Qin Yu’s personal strength and the creation of Hive Guards, the Insect Swarm had evolved exponentially on all fronts.

”Just a little bit more. My comprehension of the Wind and Thunder Mental Realm will soon be profound enough for me to break through to the Qi Sea Realm! I just need to accumulate some more Energy,” Qin Yu thought to himself. ”If the hive breaks through to Tier Three, the Insect Nest should be able to unlock even stronger units! I need to prepare in advance.”

After carefully taking stock of the forces at his disposal, Qin Yu shifted his gaze to the skies above Snake Valley. There, the Red Feather Demon King was now able to almost flawlessly command thirty-six Thunder Rocs.

If the Red Feather Demon King were to approach Bishui City, the secretly lurking Bishui River Dragon King would likely detect him instantly. Deploying the Flood Dragon King would also trigger a violent reaction. While others might not recognize the Flood Dragon King, there was a high probability that the Bishui River Dragon King would.

”I’ll have the Seven-Colored Spirit Deer take command and hatch a batch of Wind Attribute Hive Guards to set up the Wind Array. The resulting power shouldn’t be weak,” Qin Yu concluded. ”With the Array Banners and Suppression Plates, executing this won’t be difficult. The Mountain-Splitting Demon King can also be mobilized! And then, there are the Thorn Snakes!”

Within Snake Valley, three hundred Thorn Snakes simultaneously spat out sharp Bone Spikes from their maws. Propelled by immense muscular compression, the Bone Spikes broke the sound barrier in an instant.

BOOM!

A violent explosion rang out. Under the command of the Insect Nest, the three hundred Thorn Snakes struck a massive boulder a thousand meters away simultaneously. Possessing terrifying penetrating power, the spikes drove deep into the heart of the mountain before triggering a massive blast.

The most striking aspect was the distinct fluctuation of Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi upon impact. Those sharp Bone Spikes were also Blade Insects! Through continuous optimization, they had not only been infused with the Wind Attribute to drastically increase their speed but their Armor-Breaking Ability had also been significantly enhanced, allowing them to achieve an effect similar to a combined strike.

WHOOSH—

In the sky, the Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles swooped down, lifting the Thorn Snakes into the air one by one and flying toward Bishui City. Meanwhile, the underwater Insect Nest located in the Qiushui River of Zoushan County also sprang into action.

Led by the Profound Flood Dragon, the combat units of Profound Armor Cyan Aos and Sharp-toothed Catfish began advancing in the direction of the Bishui River.

After meticulously putting a series of arrangements in place, Qin Yu finally stood up and headed toward the courtyard where the three elders resided.

By this time, the sky was gradually brightening.

From receiving the family’s array inheritance to discovering the Bishui River Dragon King and continuously monitoring his movements, an entire night had passed.

Today was the day the auction would commence!

”Three elders, I have discovered some anomalies,” Qin Yu said upon arriving.
