Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 102: Chapter 100: War on Three Fronts! Crush Them

”’Ao Hua’? The Bishui River Dragon King’s only surviving illegitimate son? This Flood Dragon actually has such an impressive background? Its injuries were caused by Bishui River infighting?”

Qin Yu’s cold voice echoed within the Insect Swarm Mind Network, devoid of any nervousness or fear, leaving only absolute indifference.

He glanced at the Flood Dragon fleeing miserably along the riverbed, then firmly locked his gaze on the Blood Demon Sect group lurking underwater, secretly observing the battlefield.

The Xuan Nine Team... the Holy Sect... Combining their conversation, Qin Yu instantly confirmed their identities. The Blood Demon Sect!

”Truly like lingering Yin Souls,” he thought. ”This Blood Demon Sect wants to rope in the Bishui River Dragon King? Could it be they really want to use a blood sacrifice on Bishui City? Is that Bishui River Dragon King insane?”

Listening to their conversation, Qin Yu pondered and analyzed the situation. The Bishui River Dragon King was a ’River God’ officially recognized by the Great Wei Court. As long as he didn’t commit any atrocities to incite public outrage, the Demon Suppression Bureau wouldn’t execute him. His status was on a completely different level compared to ordinary Demon Fiends.

Wherever there was intelligence, there would be conflict. That was not surprising.

Killing this Flood Dragon had indeed stirred up a lot of trouble for him. But since he had already made his move, it had to die, regardless of its background. Let alone a mere illegitimate son, even if the Bishui River Dragon King came in person, he would kill him all the same. Furthermore, this Dragon King seemed to have colluded with the Blood Demon Sect, which gave him even less reason to let it go. Whoever needed to be killed would be killed; there was no room for hesitation.

The Insect Swarm’s antennae had already reached out toward the Bishui River. If given the chance, he wouldn’t mind killing the Bishui River Dragon King as well and taking the Bishui River basin for himself.

”As for these Blood Demon Sect members, since you’re here, you might as well stay! How did you sneak in? Through the underground Water Veins? Or something else?”

Qin Yu’s mind churned with thoughts. No wonder the Blood Demon Sect personnel could come and go without a trace; it turned out they possessed the ability to move rapidly through underground undercurrents.

Ling State had many mountains and rivers, and its underground Water Veins were extremely complex. If one mastered the flow between these underground Water Veins and used a Secret Technique to travel directly beneath the earth, their concealment would indeed be exceptionally high. Let alone the Demon Suppression Bureau, even the Insect Swarm wouldn’t be able to detect them.

To prevent retaliation from the Blood Demon Sect, the Insect Nest had been hatching various ordinary beasts and birds on a large scale to act as the Insect Swarm’s eyes and ears, distributing them throughout the Wilderness Mountain Range. These reconnaissance units were not counted among the Insect Swarm’s combat units. Through their eyes, several Insect Nests formed a three-dimensional network covering the sky, the land, and even the underground.

Yet unexpectedly, there was still an oversight!

”The expansion of the Mimic Fungal Mat needs to be accelerated,” he thought. ”As long as it spreads, with its extremely developed root system, it can invade even the underground Water Veins and completely monitor them.”

Qin Yu looked at the Fungal Mat centered around the Shegu Mountain Range. Under continuous expansion, it had already stretched for over a dozen kilometers. The seemingly ordinary ground was already filled with the Fungal Mat’s root system. Deep within the earth, there were even Fungal Mat Tumors.

Nourished by these Fungal Mat Tumors, the Fungal Mat Organization continuously extended deep underground, penetrating the bedrock and the subterranean rivers, and then kept going down. Given the tenacity of the root system, he could even bore straight into the subterranean magma layer.

According to the memory fragments inherited from the Insect Nest, when the Insect Swarm invaded a planet, the Fungal Mat would cover the entire globe at maximum speed and penetrate its core. At that time, the vitality of the entire planet would be drained. Cleaning the surface was meaningless; as long as the underground root system remained, the Fungal Mat could regenerate infinitely.

The Fungal Mat was not only a hotbed for the Insect Swarm’s growth but also one of its greatest killing weapons. It was a terrifying unit capable of directly altering a planet’s environment.

”First, keep an eye on them. Clean up the Dragon Palace’s remnants, then encircle and suppress the Blood Demon Sect, and finally deal with that Flood Dragon,” Qin Yu quickly formulated his strategy.

A school of small fish circled the members of the Blood Demon Sect’s Xuan Nine Squad, seeming curious about the massive bubble in the water. The squad members didn’t pay them any mind. Ordinary fish had almost no intelligence to speak of. Even if they were seen, it didn’t matter. What they were wary of were Enlightened Demon Fiends, and this was precisely the most terrifying aspect of the Insect Swarm’s reconnaissance.

After that, Qin Yu turned his gaze to the Demon Tide rushing out from the Three Immortals Mountain!

Their mobilization was entirely expected. The battlefield over at the Mountain Demon Tribe was designed precisely for them. The appearance of the Flood Dragon and the Blood Demon Sect was the only surprise! However, this did not affect the overall situation. Even with a war on three fronts simultaneously, the Insect Swarm’s military strength was still ample.

After massacring the Mountain Demon Race and devouring their massive amounts of flesh and blood, the Insect Swarm’s numbers had doubled again in just two days.

[Name: Dominator of the Insect Swarm.]

[Insect Hive Tier: Tier Two.]

[Life Energy Reserve: 16,260/100,000 points.]

[Hatchable Units (Tier Two): Poison Burst Insect, Cockroaches, Profound Flood Dragon, Thunder Roc, Four-winged Black Thorn Eagle... (Folded)]

[Hatchable Units (Tier One): Rapid Insect, Blood Shadow Python... (Folded)]

[Current Units: Tier Two units (Profound Flood Dragon, Thunder Roc, Cockroaches, etc., (regular units: 2,740)), Tier One units (Rapid Insect, Blood Shadow Python, Black Thorn Eagle, etc., totaling 56,300), Worker Insect: 5,000.]

[Simulation Project: Gu Insect Deduction (42 types of Gu Insects), Cultivation Method Deduction (Core Technique ”Spirit Snake Shadow Poison Scripture,” Body Refining ”Wind and Thunder Treasure Mirror,” Body Technique ”Thunder Shock Escape,” Sword Skill ”Wind and Thunder Dominator Blade Technique”). Insect Swarm unit deduction (Rapid Insect, Cockroaches, Profound Flood Dragon, Poison Burst Insect, Thunder Roc...), Mimic Fungal Mat Deduction (Collected 3,632 types of various plants).]

In just a few days, the total number of the Insect Swarm had surpassed sixty thousand. Among them, purely aquatic combat units like the Sharp-toothed Catfish numbered around fifteen thousand, while amphibious units like the Blood Shadow Python, Profound Flood Dragon, and Profound Armor Cyan Ao numbered about ten thousand. Aerial units numbered about ten thousand. The remaining twenty thousand or so were terrestrial combat units like the Rapid Insect.

The number of Tier Two units had skyrocketed to two thousand seven hundred and forty. Aside from directly hatched units like the Thunder Roc and the Four-winged Black Thorn Eagle, the majority had evolved through devouring during brutal combat.

Take the Rapid Insect, for example! As the most numerous Basic unit in the Insect Swarm, they had fought in frenzied, bloody massacres, devoured massive amounts of flesh and blood, and evolved into the Qi and Blood Realm in the greatest numbers. Since entering the Wilderness Mountain Range, the Rapid Insects had experienced the most battles. From hunting Demon’s Nests to the great war with the Mountain Demon Race, and the slaughter at the Three Immortals Mountain, countless Rapid Insects were participating, getting injured, and dying at every moment.

Over the course of numerous great battles, nearly ten thousand Rapid Insects had died. Yet in these most tragic battles, they were also rapidly evolving. Among them, over five hundred had reached the Qi and Blood Realm. There were even more than twenty that had reached the Qi and Blood Like Dragon Realm.

This was one of the reasons why Qin Yu hatched Low Tier units on a massive scale. It wasn’t just because they were cheap to produce and could control larger territories, but also because of the Insect Swarm’s characteristics of devouring and evolving. Units that evolved by slaughtering and devouring flesh and blood in combat underwent evolution through life-and-death struggles. Their combat power was actually stronger than those directly birthed into the Qi and Blood Realm! Their cost-effectiveness was, in fact, higher.

The Rapid Insects were evolving, and the other units were no different. For instance, the Black Thorn Eagles, which had the largest population, and the Sharp-toothed Catfish currently fighting madly at the bottom of the lake, had many members that evolved directly in combat.

When resources were ample and enemies were plentiful, the Insect Swarm’s troop production and evolution speeds were simply too fast!

To encircle the Dragon Palace, the Insect Swarm had only deployed its aquatic units and some amphibious combat units. To hunt the Profound Flood Dragon, they had merely dispatched half of their aerial units. The terrestrial combat units, the remaining half of the aerial units, and a portion of the amphibious units were still waiting for the great battle to arrive.

Even fighting on three fronts, he felt no fear.

”Then let’s kill!” he thought resolutely. ”The Three-legged Crow is also about to hatch. Settling everything in one battle is fine too!”

Without a shred of hesitation, the Insect Swarm that had already gathered around the Mountain Demon Tribe massed together. A full twenty thousand Rapid Insects, Cockroaches, and Mountain Giants assembled. The battle with the Three Immortals Mountain couldn’t be resolved with a sneak attack. It would be a massive, head-on clash. It would be just like the previous slaughter against the Mountain Demon Race, but this time, the scale was even more colossal!

Led by the Mountain-Splitting Demon King and the Seven-Colored Spirit Deer, the wildly charging Demon Tide grew increasingly astonishing. It quickly broke the ten thousand mark and was soon approaching twenty thousand—and this was only because a significant portion of them had been slaughtered by the Insect Swarm while gathering. Their flesh and blood were devoured by the Insect Swarm, turning into members of the Swarm itself. Otherwise, the number of Demon Fiends the Three Immortals Mountain could have mustered would have reached at least thirty thousand.

This represented almost all the surviving Demon Fiends in the entire Wilderness Mountain Range.

RUMBLE—

The ground of the Mountain Demon jungle trembled as the tidal wave of the Demon Army stepped onto the outermost Mimic Fungal Mat.

Among the Insect Swarm, Qin Yu’s voice rang out.

”The enemies have arrived at the battlefield! Attack! Crush them!”
