Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 101: Chapter 99: The Blood Demon Sect’s Tentacles, the 3 Immortal Mountains Take Action

”What a cautious Flood Dragon!”

Within the Mind Network of the insect swarm, through the eyes of the Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles and Thunder Rocs, Qin Yu watched the Flood Dragon flee the moment it appeared.

Strictly speaking, this Flood Dragon hadn’t even entered the encirclement yet.

Because the attack was launched in a hurry, ground units like the Needle-spine Crawlers and Thorn Snakes in the swarm failed to play any role. Only a portion of the aerial units managed to unleash a wave of attacks.

If the Black Thorn Eagles and Blade Insects in the swarm hadn’t completed an upgrade prior to this, it would have been difficult to even inflict an injury on this Flood Dragon.

During the first wave of attacks, the damage caused by dozens of Blade Insects breaking through its defenses looked astonishing, but for a Flood Dragon with a body length of over a hundred meters, it could only be considered a light flesh wound at best.

To prevent the Blade Insects from parasitizing his body, the Flood Dragon was incredibly ruthless. He voluntarily tore open his own wounds, ripping off large chunks of flesh and blood.

Qin Yu thought, ”This is going to be a bit troublesome. This Flood Dragon is a Fish Dragon. Once he enters the water, his combat power will inevitably surge with his Water Control Ability Talent. There aren’t many aquatic combat units in this area.

”The damage from ranged attacks like the Blade Insects will also be significantly reduced after entering the water.”

SPLASH!

With a loud crash, the Flood Dragon dove into the water, kicking up massive waves.

Immediately after, the Fish Dragon turned his head to look behind with a ferocious gaze. Primordial Power surged from his body, causing the water currents within a radius of hundreds of meters to shoot up into the sky, sweeping thousands of pursuing Blade Insects into the torrent.

Amidst a series of violent explosions, the vast majority of the Blade Insects were detonated.

The small remaining fraction could no longer pose a threat to him.

”What are these things?” the Flood Dragon King wondered.

Only then did the Flood Dragon King, still reeling from the shock, carefully observe the pursuers tailing closely behind.

The largest group consisted of eagles covered entirely in spikes and exposed bones.

Among them, the eagles with two pairs of wings spewed out high-speed rotating Blade Insects. They were absolutely terrifying—even his Scale Armor as a Late Stage Qi Sea Realm Flood Dragon couldn’t block them.

Not only could they slice at high speeds, but Parasitic Gu Insects were hidden within them, capable of devouring flesh and executing self-destruct attacks.

Then there were those Rocs enveloped in lightning.

Under their combined bombardment, even he found the assault too much to bear.

What was most terrifying was their sheer number. Just the ones charging out to hunt him down exceeded five thousand, and among them, five or six hundred had reached the Qi and Blood Realm!

Fortunately, these were all Flying Demon Fiends. As long as he entered the water, they couldn’t do anything to him.

But in the next instant, the Flood Dragon King’s pupils shrank violently.

In the sky, the circling Black Thorn Eagles shot out Blade Insects in unison. A sky full of Blade Insects frantically dove into the water, slicing toward him at extreme speeds.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Like depth charges, the Blade Insects plunged straight toward the riverbed.

This river was just a tributary waterway within the Cang Mang Mountain Range. Its widest point was no more than ten kilometers, and its depth was only around a hundred meters.

Although Blade Insects weren’t suited for underwater attacks, this little depth was clearly unable to completely impede them, and they could still unleash immense damage.

”It’s useless! In the water, these things can’t touch me. I refuse to believe they can sustain this kind of attack for long!” the Flood Dragon King thought.

Hugging the riverbed closely, the Flood Dragon King swam rapidly.

Water currents swirled around him; it was as if all the water in the great river was protecting him. His Defense Power had increased by more than ten times.

Before the Blade Insects could even get close, they were all detonated.

The even smaller Flying Snakes posed a much lesser threat. Once they entered the water, they couldn’t even manage to get near him.

CRASH!

Suddenly, a full hundred Thunder Rocs screeched in the sky.

Thunderbolts roared.

Under the Flood Dragon King’s shocked gaze, the thunderbolts converged together and violently struck the surface of the water.

Destructive power rapidly spread along the river, instantly evaporating several meters of water.

The Flood Dragon King let out a furious roar.

While his body swam at top speed, the water currents morphed into a high-speed rotating vortex for defense. When the terrifying thunderbolts struck, the entire vortex transformed into a storm of lightning.

Surging electricity dispersed through the water, causing fish and shrimp within a kilometer radius to float belly-up.

The Flood Dragon King raised his head, coldly glaring at the Thunder Rocs in the sky and the overwhelming swarm of Black Thorn Eagles converging from all directions.

If they were in the air, such a thunderbolt attack would injure even him.

But this was underwater!

Even if it was only a hundred meters deep, the water dispersed more than half of the Energy in the thunderbolts. The residual Energy striking him posed no threat whatsoever.

”Where did these things come from? How could such ferocious creatures be raised in the Wilderness Mountain Range? Is it a secret force reared by that Witch?

”But why isn’t there a Qi Sea Realm Commander leading them?” he wondered.

Countless thoughts flashed through the Flood Dragon King’s mind. His current injuries were the result of a sneak attack by a Qi Sea Realm Great Demon secretly dispatched by that Witch, nearly causing him to perish on the spot.

But these Flying Demon Fiends relied entirely on numbers.

Even when executing such a Thunderous Assault, not a single Qi Sea Realm entity appeared.

If there had been even one Qi Sea Realm Demon Fiend to entangle him, being besieged would have meant certain death right here.

Those Blade Insects were simply too terrifying.

And there were far too many of them.

Even he couldn’t withstand them.

But there weren’t any!

This was clearly not that old Witch’s style, and it was highly unlikely she could command so many Flying Demon Fiends.

Could these be native Demon Fiends of the Wilderness Mountain Range?

Was he just unlucky to run into them?

If that were the case, then perhaps there was no need to flee. Although this ’Dragon Palace’ was remote, it was his final lair.

If he lost this place too, he would be forced to live as a wandering fugitive.

The danger would only be even greater.

”I’ll return to the ’Dragon Palace’ first. They’re just Flying Demon Fiends; as long as I get back, these things won’t be able to touch me. And I refuse to believe they can keep up these kinds of attacks forever.”

The Flood Dragon King, who had originally planned to flee for his life to the ends of the earth, changed his mind and rapidly swam in the direction of his lair.

As long as he returned to his lair, he could easily shake them off and resolve this crisis.

Moreover, there were undercurrent channels at the bottom of the lake, allowing him to follow them and sneak into other areas. No matter how many Flying Demon Fiends there were, they could never threaten him there.

This was exactly why he had chosen that particular lake to build his ’Dragon Palace’.

While fleeing, the Flood Dragon King failed to notice that at every stretch of the river, Blood Shadow Pythons, Sharp-toothed Catfish, or even common native fish were watching him.

They watched him continuously flee, acting as a guide for the Black Thorn Eagles and Thunder Rocs in the sky.

...

”Accelerate the extermination of the ’Dragon Palace’ Demon Fiends. Assemble the aquatic insect swarm forces! We can’t let him go back; block him midway!”

Watching the Flood Dragon King flee along the riverbed, Qin Yu’s voice rang out.

Given the strength this Flood Dragon had displayed, if he returned to that massive lake, the difficulty of killing him would increase drastically.

Whether it was the Profound Flood Dragon or the Profound Armor Cyan Ao, the gap in strength between them and this Flood Dragon was simply too vast; they would be instantly killed.

A relatively narrow river channel like this was the most ideal battlefield.

It would allow the swarm to utilize its numerical advantage, wearing him down to death alive, or forcing him out of the water to be finished off by the aerial insect swarm.

”Hmm?”

Qin Yu, who was in the middle of making arrangements, suddenly let out a sound of surprise and doubt.

Wandering deep within the Flood Dragon’s lake, at one of the underwater undercurrents, five ’human figures’ clad in black profound robes had suddenly appeared!

Human figures enveloped within ’bubble-like’ water spheres!

If Qin Yu hadn’t spawned a large number of common fish to act as ’eyes and ears’ to scout the Demon Fiends in this lake, he truly wouldn’t have discovered them!

This lake covered a massive area, spanning fully one hundred and eighty kilometers in diameter. Not only did it connect to numerous great rivers, but it also contained quite a few subterranean rivers.

The water currents of the subterranean rivers were too complex; even the insect swarm hadn’t fully mapped them out.

This was also why Qin Yu didn’t want to set the battlefield there. If things went south, the Flood Dragon could easily charge into certain massive subterranean rivers, and the swarm wouldn’t be able to stop him at all.

But at this moment, humans had actually emerged from the subterranean river.

This was simply unbelievable.

And these humans were also staring dumbfounded at the massive underwater battle.

The slaughter between a full twenty thousand aquatic insects of the swarm and over five thousand aquatic demons of the Dragon Palace had turned the entire lake a bloody red.

Severed limbs and broken arms littered the waters everywhere.

”Captain, what happened here?” one of the human experts stared at the battlefield in shock and uncertainty.

”This isn’t good. Could this be the pursuit team dispatched by that ’Dragon Consort’?”

Another person also looked at the tragic slaughter on the battlefield with a throbbing headache. However, he didn’t dare leak his aura, carefully hiding deep at the bottom of the lake for fear of drawing an attack.

”It’s possible,” the leading Captain frowned as he carefully observed the battlefield. ”This Ao Hua is the only surviving illegitimate son of the Bishui River Dragon King; the rest have all been secretly eliminated. He is one of the Holy Sect’s greatest bargaining chips to win over the Bishui River Dragon King.

”Otherwise, why would they send our ’Xuan Nine Squad’ here?

”However, I don’t see ’Ao Hua’ anywhere on this battlefield. He might have already fled, or perhaps he just happened to be out and isn’t here.

”Be careful, don’t let those Demon Fiends spot us.

”Otherwise, we’re dead meat.”

As they conversed, they failed to notice a school of panicked little fish swimming over. These were just ordinary fish, found everywhere in the water.

Even in the subterranean rivers, a large number of common fish lived.

...

Meanwhile.

Deep within the Wilderness Mountain Range, Three Immortals Mountain also noticed something was amiss.

To encircle and annihilate the sudden appearance of the Flood Dragon, although Qin Yu didn’t pull away the Black Thorn Eagles and Thunder Rocs battling the Flying Demon Fiends of Three Immortals Mountain, he didn’t have much extra power to send over as reinforcements either.

And this abnormality was quickly discovered.

The Seven-Colored Spirit Deer even charged into the sky, slaughtering over a dozen squads of Black Thorn Eagles before gazing into the distance at the area where the insect swarm and the Flood Dragon King were battling.

Its Talent made it extremely sensitive to Energy fluctuations.

Successive violent Energy fluctuations, even though separated by an extreme distance, allowed it to detect a hint of abnormality.

”Brother, it looks like that Flood Dragon is clashing with the foreign invaders. What should we do?” In the sky, the Seven-Colored Spirit Deer looked at the Mountain-Splitting Demon King by its side.

”Most of the Demon Fiends within the Wilderness Mountain Range have already assembled. The rest are either dead or have fled. Let’s seize this opportunity and launch a direct attack!” The Mountain-Splitting Demon King’s voice was deep, his expression ferocious.

Two days had passed, and the Red Feather Demon King had yet to return; his fate was already self-evident.

The Demon Fiend communities that had gathered under his orders had all suffered attacks, resulting in heavy casualties.

Clearly, it was those invaders obstructing them from behind the scenes.

But this, conversely, allowed the Mountain-Splitting Demon King’s hanging heart to settle.

The fact that the enemy was resorting to obstruction proved their strength wasn’t as great as imagined. Otherwise, they could have just directly charged over.

”While they are fighting the Flood Dragon King, we charge out and attack!”

Over the past two days, they had also gathered quite a bit of intelligence, discovering the massive insect swarm entrenched at the Mountain Demon Tribe’s location.

That place was the invaders’ home base!

”Alright!” The Seven-Colored Spirit Deer also nodded in agreement.

ROAR—

The Mountain-Splitting Demon King tilted his head back and roared to the heavens. His voice echoed throughout the entire Three Immortals Mountain, spreading across a radius of dozens of miles.

Amidst the roar, all the assembled Demon Fiends throughout Three Immortals Mountain roared in response. Amidst the heaven-shaking bellows, tens of thousands of Demon Fiends sprinted, causing the very earth to tremble.

A densely packed horde of Demon Fiend silhouettes charged into the jungle.

Their target was impressively the battlefield the insect swarm had set up around the Mountain Demon Tribe!

”Kill! Kill! Kill!”
