Chapter 397: The Frenzied Game Geniuses

”Haha! It’s my turn to play, you damn cop!”

On the rooftop of the building opposite, the masked criminal laughed manically as he set up the sniper rifle and aimed at the special forces member crouching behind the police car...

”Pop!”

A series of blood flowers instantly bloomed high! The sniper who had been lying in wait behind the police car had his head exploded in an instant, and the arrow used by the criminal was not the kind with strong penetration, but a new type of arrow that exploded once it penetrated the human body.

The sight of revolting flesh and blood made the officers on the scene retch in unison.

”Freak!” someone screamed frantically, but it was to no avail.

The criminal on the opposite building had already vanished.

Meanwhile, Su Ni was running toward a safe area as fast as she could, holding the infant in her arms.

The distance seemed less than a hundred meters, but Su Ni felt as if it were the most difficult journey of her life.

No matter how desperately she ran, it seemed as if this hundred-meter stretch was her life’s great finale.

The criminals hidden in the dark fired wildly at Su Ni.

Su Ni’s determined face was already covered in dust, and sweat streamed down her fair skin like droplets after the rain...

”Boom!”

Another loud explosion.

A car not far from Su Ni had its gas tank blown up by the criminals in an instant.

The scorching aftermath of the explosion nearly flipped Su Ni over.

After getting back up, Su Ni bit her teeth, her eyes resolute as she continued to run crazily toward the safety zone of the police with the baby in her arms.

”Notify the special forces team quickly, we need extensive reinforcements!”

”Hurry, hurry, hurry! We need a rescue from the special forces team!”

At this moment, the officers outside the building had completely lost their composure. They had thought this operation was just about rounding up a few petty robbers, but unexpectedly, they had run into an international gang that had committed rampant crimes in Malaysia.

Their momentary carelessness had now led them into a stalemate.

The strength of their opponents was far beyond their imagination.

Not wanting to let the special forces team take all the credit, these guys had acted on their own accord. This had led to the situation unfolding before them.

The crazed criminals seemed reluctant to kill Su Ni. It was as if they were playing a twisted game with her.

With each shot of an arrow, it merely whizzed past Su Ni’s side without seeking her life.

That is until Su Ni had completed her desperate run.

Holding the sleeping infant in her arms, her face washed with relief as she handed the baby over to the nurses, she was horrified to find that her hands were now warm with something else.

Her originally dirty but joyful face immediately turned frighteningly pale!

Su Ni felt a significant loss of strength in her body, and she would have collapsed if not for the officers at her side supporting her.

”Why? Why? Why is this happening?!” Su Ni’s demeanor suddenly became desolate as she realized that the infant she had been protecting with her life was now dead.

The infant that had been sleeping in her arms had been cruelly deprived of life by the criminals.

This plunged Su Ni into deep self-reproach.

”Su Ni, are you alright?”

At that moment, a veteran officer approached with an anxious expression, his gaze on Su Ni’s face, which looked terribly upset. He began to worry.

”Why, why, why would they not spare even infants? Are they not born and raised by humans?” Su Ni was in a state of extreme dejection at that time.

Her once resolute face was now completely devoid of colour.

”Su Ni, this isn’t your fault. If anyone is to blame, it’s those lunatics who are just too deranged!” Another young officer stepped forward to console her.

”But the baby died in my hands, doesn’t that concern me? Can I just pretend nothing happened and look the other way?” Suddenly,

Su Ni glared furiously at the young officer, her bereaved eyes clearly showing her emotional instability.

”But the baby is already dead, and besides, this has nothing to do with you. You tried to save him. How can you blame yourself?” The younger officer, familiar with Su Ni’s character, immediately came forward to explain.

”Su Ni, this really isn’t your fault. Incidents like today’s should be handled by Special Forces. At most, we can only play a role in ensuring public safety. You, you shouldn’t blame yourself too much,” the veteran officer said, patting Su Ni on the shoulder in an attempt to comfort her.

”Hah, Special Forces? If everything requires Special Forces intervention, what’s the point of us police? As police officers, aren’t we always ready to sacrifice our lives? Are we supposed to call Special Forces for everything?” Su Ni scoffed bitterly, her pale yet striking face showing a tinge of bitterness.

If this incident hadn’t been delayed by these so-called police, giving the criminals enough time and preparation, maybe the scene that just unfolded wouldn’t have happened.

As police officers, are we only good for catching petty thieves?

To call for Special Forces at the slightest sign of trouble seems almost laughable to Su Ni.

”But how could our precinct ever match up to international criminals? Moreover, these madmen are crime geniuses from Malaysia; it’s impossible for us to capture them with our abilities!” the veteran officer asserted with conviction.

He knew his own limitations all too well.

”That’s just you admitting weakness!”

Su Ni, her eyes cold, snatched the sheathed arrow from the veteran officer’s waist.

”Su Ni, what are you going to do now?”

With the arrow in hand, Su Ni’s dusty, dirty face was set with determination. Despite her body being covered in sweat and dust, nothing could dampen her resolve.

”I’m going to save lives!” Su Ni’s tone was especially firm.

Grasping the Hand Arrow, she charged into the building!

Even the reporters doing live coverage on-site were taken aback by Su Ni’s actions.

When Su Ni disappeared into the entrance of the building, the reporter had no choice but to end the live coverage of her.

Because Su Ni had already rushed into the building, the reporter could not possibly follow her in.

”Brothers, that fiery chick has come in. How you want to play with her later is up to you. Hahaha...”

In a monitoring room inside the building, a man with a mask, propping his legs up and drinking Frandy, cackled frantically into the walkie-talkie.

Soon, the invisible criminals lurking throughout the building felt a surge of excitement.

...

”Wow! That female cop is so cool!”

In the canteen, Liu Tangtang was nearly mesmerized.

Huahua wasn’t doing much better; she, too, was captivated by the image of Su Ni on the screen.

”Eh?! Where’s Uncle?”

That’s when Liu Tangtang and the others turned around in surprise to find that Lin Zifeng, who had been right behind them, had vanished without a trace!
