Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 377: Chapter 379: Don’t Bleed Yourself Out

Chapter 379: Don’t Let Your Blood Spill

Not until he was leading Zhang Xixi’s delicate and moist hand away from the hotel did she suddenly retract her hand lightly, her face blushing attractively. However, her brows were slightly furrowed, weighed down by a heavy heart.

”What’s the matter?” Lin Zifeng asked softly.

”I, I can’t just leave like this,” Zhang Xixi said, looking down. She stared at her own feet, her hands unsure where to rest, nervously twisting the hem of her shirt. In her classical long skirt matched with a crisp shirt, her elegant long hair accentuating the classical beauty of Eastern and Western women, Zhang Xixi’s face seemed even more pitiable under the gentle caress of the breeze.

On Zhang Xixi, Lin Zifeng could never detect the pretentiousness of a rich girl; instead, she radiated gentle warmth.

”Why?” Lin Zifeng’s brows furrowed deeply.

”Because... because they still have my father,” Zhang Xixi whispered.

”Your father? What do you mean?” Lin Zifeng asked.

”My father has been detained at the construction site. If I don’t comply with Director Wu’s demands, he will sue my father!”

”Take your time, no matter what you can’t resolve, as long as I, Lin Zifeng, am alive, I will do everything in my power to help you.”

The words ”as long as I, Lin Zifeng, am alive, I will do everything in my power to help you” echoed in Zhang Xixi’s mind like a spell. She couldn’t help but feel her eyes moisten once again; this was the first time she had heard a man make such a serious promise to her.

Finally, Zhang Xixi threw caution to the wind and recounted the whole story to Lin Zifeng, who simply smiled at the end.

He waved his hand and said, ”These are all trifles.”

Trifles?

Zhang Xixi’s eyes, like autumn waters, turned with complex emotions, somewhat unable to see through the man before her. In her view, Lin Zifeng was nothing more than a small assistant, yet he could speak such words, which worried Zhang Xixi.

”Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing,” Lin Zifeng said with a shrug and a smile.

”Thank you,” Zhang Xixi said gratefully with a nod.

She then agreed to go with Lin Zifeng to the construction site to find her father.

Throughout the journey, Zhang Xixi was unusually silent. She didn’t dare to say half a word to Lin Zifeng, only stealing glances at him occasionally, but every time Lin Zifeng caught this small gesture, Zhang Xixi would involuntarily blush and turn her face away to look out the car window, pretending not to see him.

But such subtle thoughts could hardly escape Lin Zifeng’s observational skills.

Lin Zifeng just smiled.

He didn’t take advantage of Zhang Xixi’s growing fondness of him to do anything inappropriate.

It wasn’t until an hour later that Zhang Xixi finally led Lin Zifeng to a construction site on the outskirts of the suburbs.

From afar, the construction site was spotted, surprisingly displaying the flag of Tianyu Group!

This seemed odd to Lin Zifeng. Could it be that Tianyu had many industrial connections?

But then he thought about it and it made sense - after all, the real estate market was so hot that almost every business giant was pouring resources into property development at any cost.

Of course, for a large group like Tianyu, it was unlikely that the higher-up leadership would ignore these aspects.

Following Zhang Xixi closer to the site, Lin Zifeng was shocked to discover the site in total disarray. It was littered with all sorts of revolting trash.

Junk, life essentials, and scattered construction materials like leftover cement and sinks covered the ground.

Touching the quality of the construction, Lin Zifeng shook his head. Clearly, it was a shoddy project meant to swindle the public.

The thought of ordinary folks working hard all their lives, forced to pay mortgages year after year, only to buy such houses, made Lin Zifeng’s facial muscles twitch.

It seemed that Nangong Bing’s management of Tianyu Group was lacking.

If things continued like this, even if Tianyu Group wouldn’t collapse, its reputation would likely be completely tarnished by these people.

It was only when they entered a building on the site did they see a few workers loitering around listlessly.

The workers also noticed their presence.

A few of the relatively better-dressed workers gazed unabashedly at Zhang Xixi with open lust.

Especially when they noticed Lin Zifeng, they were filled with disdain.

Lin Zifeng didn’t care, feeling no need to engage with these people. He simply followed Zhang Xixi into the shed, to discover the clamor of voices coming from inside.

A crowd was surrounding a large table, deeply engrossed in gambling.

Another group was huddled around a table eating, drinking, and playing drinking games.

From their raucous, excited voices, it wasn’t hard to tell that these guys were living quite the carefree life.

Zhang Xixi was the first to step out.

In an instant, the previously clamorous shed fell silent. Dozens of gluttonous eyes swept over Zhang Xixi’s graceful figure.

”Excuse me, is my father, Zhang Runfa, here?” Zhang Xixi asked boldly.

”Zhang Runfa? Who are you to Zhang Runfa?”

The disheveled shed reeked of strong, foul odors of smoke and alcohol.

Someone wiped their mouth and stepped forward with a smirk, asking the question.

”I’m his daughter, I’m looking for my father, is Big Brother Liu San, the foreman, here?”

Even though Zhang Xixi clearly knew that the foreman, Liu San, was not a good person, she still politely addressed him as Big Brother.

”Oh? You’re looking for our Liu Bro? May I ask what business you have with our Liu Bro?” The crowd of onlookers gradually grew and circled around Zhang Xixi, their weird laughter incessant.

If they were just ordinary workers, that would be one thing.

But this bunch was far from construction workers; masquerading as builders, they were clearly thugs with a sense of martial arts world camaraderie.

They followed a man named Liu San who had landed the construction site through connections, enslaving the real workers while they acted high and mighty.

Zhang Xixi’s father was a typical example.

”I, I have some matters to discuss with Big Brother Liu. Can you please let him know?” Zhang Xixi gradually started to feel afraid.

Because she could feel the men disguised as workers around her leering at her with lustful eyes, looking her up and down.

And the crowd was getting bigger and pressing in closer.

Especially the few guys in front, whose breath seemed to become more hurried and rough. It was as if they could pounce on Zhang Xixi at any moment and deal with her on the spot.

The newspapers had reported similar incidents at construction sites where young girls were forced against their will.

It later turned out that these so-called construction workers were not really workers at all, but thugs in disguise.

”Notify? Heh, notify what? Little sister, why don’t you just stay today. Hang out with the brothers, have some fun, and maybe—just maybe—if everyone’s happy, you might even get some extra cash today,” one of them said.

By now, some had started to physically harass Zhang Xixi.

Just as a man was about to lay his hand on Zhang Xixi’s shoulder.

A sudden large hand emerged from the crowd and swiftly grabbed the man’s wrist.

”Buddy, don’t you think this is a bit excessive?”

At this point, everyone turned around only to find a strange young man behind them who had appeared out of nowhere, smiling at them.

He was in a sharp black suit that gave him a handsome and extraordinary demeanor, far superior to this group dressed without care.

”Yo! So it’s a pretty boy, huh?” laughed the thug.

He was just about to viciously yank his wrist free and then, taking advantage of the young man’s distraction, kick him to the ground. But Lin Zifeng’s grip was like a vise, firmly holding the thug’s wrist so that he couldn’t move.

The harder he struggled, the stronger Lin Zifeng’s grip became.

The man’s face started to contort with pain.

”Your mother fu—” began the man in agony, cursing loudly, but before he could utter the last word, Lin Zifeng’s hand had already swung forward, striking the man’s face and almost knocking him unconscious.

”Fuck! You dare to hit me!” yelled someone.

The leader, a man with a small mustache carrying a piece of iron, charged forward, first sneering at Zhang Xixi, ”Beauty, step aside. I tend to hit hard, wouldn’t want to splatter you with blood!”

The mustachioed man twisted his neck; among the workers, he was known to be the toughest, once charging into battle wielding a watermelon knife. But to fight with someone abnormal like Lin Zifeng was practically courting death.

Lin Zifeng didn’t move, standing there, looking at the mustachioed man with a mocking expression.

Zhang Xixi quickly stepped forward, clutching Lin Zifeng’s arm in fear, ”You’d better leave quickly. You can’t beat them alone, don’t worry about me. Thank you for trying to help. I appreciate your intentions.”

Lin Zifeng, squinting his eyes, lightly said with a smile, ”He’s right. Stand aside, don’t get covered in blood.” With one swoop, Lin Zifeng embraced Zhang Xixi’s delicate body and, to her surprise, swiftly moved her behind him.

Zhang Xixi was stunned.

But the thugs around them burst into malevolent laughter.

Everyone stepped back, cheering for the mustachioed man, eager for a good show to watch.

With continuous mocking laughter, the mustachioed man cursed, ”You’re trying to play the hero!” With those words, he swung the piece of iron in his hand towards Lin Zifeng’s head.

As the iron got within half a meter of Lin Zifeng’s head, he stood motionless, causing everyone to silently curse him for being a fool.

Even Zhang Xixi felt anxious for Lin Zifeng.

But just as the iron in the mustachioed man’s hand came within a centimeter of Lin Zifeng’s head, Lin Zifeng moved.

His movements were extremely fast, not only fierce but quick and simple.

With a straightforward punch, he stood in place without shifting his stance, barely moving except to land the blow, as quick as lightning.

The punch sent a sharp pain across the mustachioed man’s face.

”Smack!”

With a crisp sound, the mustachioed man was sent flying like a cannonball, instantly!

Instantly, everyone on the scene was stunned!

No one had seen when Lin Zifeng made his move, and the mustachioed man was flung away just like that!
