Chapter 360: You’re Eighteen This Year

Lin Zifeng, who was smoking, really wasn’t used to President Zhou’s 360-degree dramatic change, and he almost choked to death on his cigarette.

”Oh! Right, it’s your first time visiting our school today, so I’ll take you to learn some basics about the school. Do you have a specific department in mind?” Now President Zhou was acting like a grandson, incessantly offering him cigarettes and serving tea, acting even more servile than an actual grandson. Just a while ago, when he heard that Zifeng didn’t know Hua Baijian, he immediately tried to intimidate Zifeng with a stern look. And now, in just a few minutes, his attitude had changed 180 degrees!

”Well, I study in the Archaeology Department,” Zifeng nodded earnestly.

”Archaeology Department?” President Zhou was startled.

He nearly spilled the tea he was pouring.

”What’s wrong? Is there a problem with the Archaeology Department?” Zifeng asked blankly.

”No, no,” President Zhou shook his head with a forced smile, his facial muscles twitching.

Inside, he was disdainfully thinking: Why choose the most unpopular department in the school, which doesn’t even have a single girl? Just don’t come crying to me later asking to change your department...

”I’ll stick with the Archaeology Department,” Zifeng confirmed with more certainty.

”Er—you sure you want to pick the Archaeology Department?” President Zhou asked again, feeling that this guy wasn’t really here to study. College students typically focus on girls, sleep, and video games, but he didn’t care about any of that and insisted on choosing Archaeology!

President Zhou thought to himself, this guy really was a rare oddity.

Thus, during their seemingly casual conversation, President Zhou managed to explain the basics about the academy to Zifeng, especially repeatedly reminding him that the Archaeology Department had no girls, yet Zifeng seriously insisted on it. In the end, President Zhou could not change his mind and had to agree.

If President Zhou hadn’t had his office tampered with, which Zifeng saw, he wouldn’t even bother to acknowledge him...

During their exchange, President Zhou’s gold iPhone kept ringing incessantly, but because Zifeng was present, the old man declined several calls directly.

After about ten minutes, the office door was opened by a young man dressed in a neat casual suit and a crew cut, exuding the aura of a wealthy second-generation. But today, he was out of money and had made a dozen calls to his father asking for some.

As a result, to deal with Zifeng, the Bodhisattva, President Zhou had no time to answer the phone. He ended up repeatedly hanging up on his son’s calls, which finally made his son, unable to contain his anger, barge in.

People say, ”Like father, like son.” This saying certainly holds true.

And it’s especially true for the Zhou family.

The one who came in was not a stranger but someone Zifeng knew!

Enemies turn especially green when they meet.

The one who entered was Mu Yang’s former suitor, Zhou Wenlong!

When Zifeng had first joined Tianyu Group, Zhou Wenlong had been pursuing Mu Yang in the IT department. But then Zifeng’s arrival had dramatically turned Mu Yang’s head, making Zifeng act as her shield. After Zhou Wenlong had humiliated Zifeng in an elevator, Zifeng had retaliated so fiercely that Zhou Wenlong vanished from the scene since then.

Unexpectedly... such coincidences existed in the world... to run into this demon here at Yunhai University, and most troubling of all, his father was the president of Yunhai University!

”It’s you?” Zhou Wenlong was slightly surprised, staring.

”Hmm, you remember me?” Zifeng calmly nodded in acknowledgment.

”Even if you turned to ashes, I would recognize you!” Zhou Wenlong said excitedly, his teeth clenched, his facial muscles trembling.

”Should I feel honored, or should I feel unfortunate?” Zifeng asked with a smile.

”You should feel unfortunate!” Zhou Wenlong glared fiercely, almost spitting his words out.

”You two... know each other?” Old man Zhou was still a bit clueless, unable to understand what displeasure had occurred between them.

”Dad! What’s this guy doing here?” Zhou Wenlong frowned repeatedly, clearly taken aback by Zifeng’s appearance.

”Oh! He’s a new student we recruited. You should take good care of him in the future,” Old man Zhou said, feeling even more irritated than his son. The fact that his own leverage was in someone else’s hands, if he managed to upset them, who knows if they would post something anonymously on the college forum... That might not only jeopardize his own promotion but possibly cut off his career path altogether.

”Student?” Zhou Wenlong questioned with a sneer.

”Right, you guys chat first, I’ll get something for you. Remember to take good care of our new student.” Seeing his good-for-nothing son come back asking for money again, Old man Zhou had no choice. Considering his wife worked at the Education Bureau and his promotion relied entirely on her influence, and his wife adored their son much more than him, if his precious son was unhappy, he would likely suffer as well.

”Yes,” Zifeng, smoking a cigarette and squinting with one eye, calmly responded to each of Zhou Wenlong’s inquiries.

”Huh! How old are you this year?”

”Who’d believe anything he says, him, a student? Maybe a security guard!” Zhou Wenlong had seen with his own eyes this guy in a security uniform last time at the Tianyu Group. He would never believe he was a student.

Can a student look that mature?

When he asked how old the other party was this year, Zhou Wenlong thought Lin Zifeng would surely answer his question honestly.

But Lin Zifeng’s response was just as simple, ”I am eighteen this year.”

Pfft—

Zhou Wenlong’s face turned pale in an instant; he felt his eggs were about to crack. He had seen shameless people before but seeing someone trying to act so young for the first time was too much.

Zhou Wenlong nearly spat out blood.

With a face ashen as iron, he pointed at Lin Zifeng and almost roared, ”You, you’re still eighteen?”

”Yes, don’t I look eighteen?” Lin Zifeng retorted, his legs crossed, with an innocent expression. Especially the way he smoked, he looked anything but the young kid he claimed to be; he looked more like a slick veteran who’d been through a lot in society.

”Oh, by the way, I’m thirsty. Please pour me a cup of tea,” Lin Zifeng directed, pointing to the teacup on the desk and speaking nonchalantly to Zhou Wenlong.

”What?! Pour tea?” Zhou Wenlong’s eyes widened, unable to believe this guy was acting so entitled. ”Even if you’re new here, isn’t this a bit too much?”

”Didn’t you hear what I just said? I’m thirsty. Oh! I only drink Tieguanyin tea, and only the second brew—the first one’s too cloudy, not very tasty.” Lin Zifeng pointed to the Tieguanyin tea on the desk, his tone assertive.

”Have you gone daft being a security guard too long? Pouring tea for you?” Zhou Wenlong scoffed.

”I’m very sober,” Lin Zifeng stated calmly. ”Didn’t you forget what your dad just said? Take good care of the new student. I suppose you wouldn’t disobey your dad’s wishes, would you?”

Lin Zifeng really didn’t like this guy much; the last time he pursued Mu Yang, he was persistent and annoying. But that wasn’t even the problem. What really annoyed Lin Zifeng was that he had used Lin to boost his own sense of superiority, comparing his strengths to others’ weaknesses. If not to step on this kind of person, then who?

”You—!” Zhou Wenlong’s hands trembled, his facial muscles twitching.

Being cornered with his own dad’s words, he couldn’t retort since this was the school, and his dad was the one in charge.

His dad had indeed asked him to take good care of Lin Zifeng. If he didn’t comply now, it might soon spew rumors that Principal Zhou had failed his leadership, spawning a monster. Such gossip could spread.

”What’s the matter? Didn’t you hear what I said? I don’t want to repeat myself! If you think I’m a nobody, or even a bastard, you’re free to walk away. You don’t have to pour tea for me. However, keep in mind that I might not keep quiet about it.” Lin Zifeng was in no hurry, taking his time with this egomaniac who judged others so trivially.

”Damn you, damn!” Zhou Wenlong cursed inwardly.

He briskly grabbed a glass from the desk and headed towards the bathroom.

”Remember, I only drink the second brew. If you plan to add anything to the tea, I insist you try it first.”

Zhou Wenlong’s body stiffened suddenly.

He hadn’t expected Lin Zifeng to immediately see through his wicked plan of possibly tampering with the drink.

”Bastard! You damn bastard!” Zhou Wenlong was so angry he almost stamped his foot like a little woman. Not even his dad had ever treated him like this.

But there was nothing he could do about it now.

When Zhou Wenlong returned with a cup of tea, Lin Zifeng was already eagerly anticipating his respectful offering.

”Tsk, tsk! Not bad, not bad at all; top-grade Tieguanyin sure tastes great,” Lin Zifeng remarked as he sipped the tea Zhou Wenlong had clumsily made.

Damn it! He’s really acting as if he’s here to enjoy himself?

Zhou Wenlong nearly smacked him right there, but without knowing Lin’s full background, Zhou Wenlong kept a low profile, fearing this guest might indeed be the fierce sort capable of devouring him at a whim.

”Well, the tea is good, but the atmosphere just doesn’t suit the taste,” Lin Zifeng said playfully after finishing his tea, clearly aiming it at Zhou Wenlong.

”What atmosphere?” Zhou Wenlong’s face turned the color of an eggplant, and he was ready to slam the water glass directly on his head.

”I don’t know; you should be aware of it,” Lin Zifeng replied calmly.

”You—you better not get too cocky!” Zhou Wenlong pointed at Lin Zifeng and shouted angrily.

With a reason to show off, why not flaunt a little?

”What? Are you threatening me now?” Lin Zifeng laughed again.
