Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 389: Chapter 391: Youngsters, Keep Going!

Chapter 391: Keep Pushing, Youngsters

”Are all of you ready?”

Huahua clapped her hands, motivating everyone.

”Ready at all times!”

The six determined youngsters roared in unison, except Lin Zifeng, who gave no reaction.

”Good! In this game, we can only succeed; failure is not an option. If we lose, we will have no chance in the campus championship a week from now. Since you all train so hard usually, today is the time to witness a miracle! Show your true strength, youngsters!”

Huahua twirled her tiny fists above her head, stirring and encouraging everyone.

As soon as Huahua finished speaking, all six followed her lead, twirling their fists above their heads and shouting.

Indeed!

The atmosphere here was so thrilling.

However, on the other side of the training field, the little beauty scoffed mockingly, ”A bunch of fools.”

Ten minutes later, everyone had warmed up and was in the zone.

At that moment, two middle-aged men in casual sportswear arrived at the training ground.

Clapping their hands, the two teams, ready to fight to the death, quickly gathered together.

”Students, how has your practice been?” one of the thirty-year-old men asked with a smile after clapping his hands.

”We will not disappoint you, coach!”

The two teams, more than a dozen players, roared in unison again.

But the enthusiasm clearly did not extend to the team captains.

Huahua stood at the front of her team, arms folded across her smooth, pale arms, counteracting the looks thrown by the little beauty opposite her.

Their four eyes clashed, as if sparks were forming in the air.

Neither would yield to the other.

”Alright, it’s all about your performance today, but before the match starts, I have something to say. You might think I’m being verbose, but let me be clear. Competition is second, friendship is first. This time, the school intends to select five excellent basketball teams from each department, so making it into the top five will be quite challenging. Considering the large number of teams, today’s event is only a selection match. Currently, ten strong basketball teams are competing simultaneously, and only the top five will have the chance to participate in the campus championship. So, give it your best today, youngsters!”

The middle-aged man finished speaking and also remembered to twirl his fist, cheering everyone on.

Instantly, the atmosphere among the two newly formed basketball teams solidified to an extreme.

Neither team held back, glaring fiercely at each other.

This time, the school had organized the campus basketball championship with only five spots available.

And at the moment, only ten teams were left in contention.

To break into the top five, they must defeat their opponents to have a chance at the campus championship!

”Hey, freshman, the match is about to start, are you ready? Don’t be a fool and hold us back,” said the brawny man standing next to Lin Zifeng, nudging him with his elbow, his words dripping with scorn.

Lin Zifeng didn’t want to respond.

Instead, he glanced at the little beauty directing her team.

Honestly. The outcome of this game was predictable without even playing.

Just looking at their team’s cooperation fully demonstrated their spirit and overall level.

Looking back at Huahua’s hastily assembled team, it was almost a pitiful sight.

Each one aloof and arrogant.

Barely stronger than amateur teams and nowhere near the future professional level of the opposing team.

Playing basketball isn’t like playing ping-pong; it’s about teamwork.

Strong coordination and a focus on the center of gravity are the core of the team.

Focusing only on personal gain and trying to show off is just foolish thinking.

Seeing the guy half a head shorter than himself dismiss his words as nonsense frustrated the brawny man.

He nudged Lin Zifeng again with his massive body.

Opening his wide mouth somewhat annoyed, he said, ”Freshman, I’m talking to you, did you hear me?”

This guy was the biggest and tallest in the whole basketball team.

Known as ’Gorilla,’ he had some reputation among the six.

”Sorry, we don’t know each other, and I don’t want to talk too much with boring people.”

”You...!”

If it weren’t for Huahua and Liu Tangtang being there, Gorilla might have wondered if his temper would accidentally kill this guy.

”Fine! Just you wait!” Gorilla glared fiercely at him.

The latter hooked the corner of his mouth in a mocking manner. Glancing at him disdainfully, he chose to ignore him.

Being treated like this by a freshman left Gorilla extremely displeased.

Gathering the other five, they began to plot against him.

Murmuring among themselves for a while, they finally revealed a sinister smile as they looked over at Lin Zifeng.

The match hadn’t even started, yet the scent of war had already permeated the entire field.

Even Lin Zifeng could already smell the brutal match that was about to unfold.

Soon, under the arrangement of two middle-aged school leaders, everyone took their places, and the team captains led their respective teams toward the basketball court at the training field.

It was just a small-scale selection match.

Not many people came from the training field, but there were still about three to four hundred people present.

There was no other reason, but given that Huahua and Liu Tangtang, two campus beauties, were there directing on the spot, the viewers didn’t even need to think hard, even guessing with their butts, they could predict the process and result of this match.

Of course!

As for who would win or lose this match, no one knew yet, but simply from the team spirit and tactical arrangements of both teams, it was not hard to see that the team led by Huahua was truly less than satisfactory.

They were simply terrible...

By the time the team members were ready to enter the field.

Huahua, a bit nervous, grabbed Lin Zifeng’s strong and powerful arm, her bright and spirited eyes looking up at him as she softly said, ”Don’t mess this up for everyone, you beast. This match is very important.”

Eh, could Lin Zifeng possibly lose in a match that didn’t even deserve a warm-up?

Lin Zifeng really didn’t know what tone to use to explain things to Huahua.

He nodded, indicating he understood.

But Lin Zifeng’s appearance undoubtedly disappointed many of the players participating in the match at the training field.

This was the first match in Lin Zifeng’s life attended by several hundred spectators. He had never participated in a competition of this level before and the many watchful eyes now on him undoubtedly made him a bit uncomfortable.

The match hadn’t even started yet, and the scene was already boiling over.

Huahua’s crazy, obsessed fans had arrived early at the training field, each holding a sign nearly as big as a person, cheering fervently for Huahua’s team.

Of course.

The opposing team’s momentum was no weaker than theirs – in fact, their team’s fan fervor was much higher than Huahua’s team.

The opposing team’s members were probably much stronger than the team Huahua had temporarily put together, and they had already made a small name for themselves at the school.

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Lin Zifeng gradually made his way to the center of the field.

Under the gaze of over four hundred people, undoubtedly.

Lin Zifeng’s entrance didn’t gather any attention at all.

”Real Madrid, Real Madrid, yellowed horses, beat you until you turn into Wahaha...”

Before the match had even started, a cheerleading squad had already arrived at the scene, a group of young girls in sexy outfits started cheering for the team.

Of course!

The Real Madrid Team, which was the temporary team formed by Huahua, was temporarily named Real Madrid.

However, the match hadn’t even started, and the opposing cheerleaders had already scorned them like this. How could they even play the match?

Lin Zifeng almost tripped and fell, unable to believe how lacking the Real Madrid Team formed by Huahua was!

Hearing the scornful voices about the Real Madrid Team falling behind, Liu Tangtang immediately waved her hand grandly. Soon another squad of young cheerleaders appeared at the training field.

Before the match even started, the cheerleaders from both teams began to clash.

In the midst of the boiling crowd, Huahua’s face tensed up a bit.

After all, the team was only temporarily assembled by her, and no one knew if their combat power could withstand the fierce strength of their opponents.

”Real Madrid Team, please make your entrance first!”

In the grandstand, someone with a microphone began introducing the merits of the two teams.

As soon as the host finished speaking, the members of the Real Madrid Team began emerging one by one from the crowd.

The leader was still that burly man who always looked down on Lin Zifeng.

The guy raised his hands high, grinning widely, with an air of smugness.

Under the enthusiastic cheers of fervent fans in the grandstand, a group of seven quickly made their entrance in style.

The last to make an appearance was undoubtedly Lin Zifeng.

Lin Zifeng kept it low-key. He didn’t have any overly provocative poses.

”Please welcome the school’s last year contenders in the top ten battles of the championship, the Rocket Team, with the warmest applause!”

Certainly, as soon as the Rocket Team was mentioned, the host’s voice became a bit more excited.

Under the enthusiastic cheers of over four hundred people, the seven members of the Rocket Team also made a stylish entrance.

However, the arrogance of the opponents made Lin Zifeng frown for a while.

He really couldn’t understand; it was just a basketball game, why act so pretentious to this extent?

However, seeing the tall, handsome members of the Rocket Team making their entrance, followed by several dozen beautiful long-legged girls screaming madly, Lin Zifeng finally understood why nowadays many students loved playing basketball.

The reason was simple: being good at basketball gave them a status not inferior to having a pretty-boy face.

Being good at playing the game was just as good as being good at showing off!

According to the rules of the game, both sides began to interact in a friendly manner before the match.

Then everyone took their places, waiting for the referee to shout the start.

This was just a very ordinary, common small match within the school, merely attended by more spectators than usual.

Lin Zifeng stood in the back, indifferent. After all, they just wanted him to fill a spot.

As for who would win or lose this match, it was no longer his concern.

The referee took the whistle, waved to the teams on the field, and soon the members of both teams began engaging in fierce combat.
