Chapter 392: Chapter 394 Playing Basketball is the Same as Hitting People

Chapter 394: Playing Basketball Is Basically Like Fighting

While Lin Zifeng and his friends were still immersed in the excitement of the game’s outcome,

guided by his lackeys, Qiu Dongwei quickly spotted Lin Zifeng among the crowd.

As the saying goes, enemies often meet with especially red eyes, and this adage has held philosophical truth since ancient times.

Qiu Dongwei was barely able to restrain himself from cursing on the spot.

Although the Real Madrid team won the game, many people knew that their victory was not entirely honorable.

Winning the game through brute force certainly did not convince a large portion of the audience.

However, Lin Zifeng’s formidable combat power truly drove those girls, in the throes of their first love, wild with excitement. Which girl on the brink of youth wouldn’t want her future boyfriend to be like Supreme Treasure, riding the Seven-colored Cloud in A Chinese Odyssey?

”Uncle, you’re so amazing! I was almost mesmerized by you just now!”

Liu Tangtang narrowed her watery eyes, clasping her hands in front of her chest with an infatuated and admiring look.

She was just short of rushing forward to plant a few kisses on him.

”Uh...” In front of so many people, this girl’s frankness not only took Lin Zifeng by surprise.

”Beast, you did great this time! On behalf of the Real Madrid team, I welcome you to join us. From now on, you’re part of the Real Madrid team,” Huahua said, twisting her slim waist with both hands on her hips, her face serious and earnest.

It was as if she were conferring some glorious deed, a scene that reminded Zifeng of the pride he felt when he became a Young Pioneer as a child.

”Mm-hmm, uncle, from today on you’re one of us in the team. You’ll have to work hard, you’ve got potential. Yunhai University’s basketball future rests on your shoulders!” Perhaps because she was overly pleased with Lin Zifeng’s performance in the game, Liu Tangtang kept lavishing praise on him. Her crescent-moon-shaped eyes made her smile look quite lovely.

”Er, I think I’ll pass. I have zero interest in playing basketball, and with my skills, I doubt I could even match a rookie. You should find someone else,” Lin Zifeng refused flat out, waving his hand dismissively.

He had never been very interested in playing basketball; if it weren’t for Huahua insisting that he take charge, he wouldn’t have played at all.

”Bro, playing basketball is actually very simple. With your ability, even sprinting for the top three spots on campus is a sure thing. You see, playing basketball is not much different from fighting nowadays. As long as you have a bit of basketball skill, winning a game is pretty straightforward. With your... freakish ability, I guess no one in Yunhai University can be your match except for that karate genius, Deng Ziwen,” the silent gorilla, finally unable to hold his tongue when Lin Zifeng showed an interest in leaving the Real Madrid team, blurted out in panic. This guy was rather straightforward and hot-tempered.

But after Lin Zifeng proactively apologized to him, the gorilla could tell that this seemingly jovial person was not only decent in character but also had a combat power that deeply impressed him.

Anyone who could throw a basketball like it was an iron disc was undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with, the gorilla inwardly admitted defeat.

”Yes, Liu Minghui is right. Playing basketball has little difference from fighting. It’s all about who’s taller, who’s stronger. A team with such advantages tends to dominate in the game. Like Liu Minghui’s nearly 2-meter height, he’s like a bulldozer on the basketball court, virtually unbeatable. That’s his edge.” At that moment, a man with a tall stature but a somewhat sleazy look squeezed through, excitedly gesticulating to the crowd, ”Have you seen Shaolin Soccer by Stephen Chow? The soccer competition in it is essentially identical to a real match. In any game, bumps and bruises are inevitable. So, often instead of playing the ball, you’re playing the people. Once people get hurt, the outcome of the game is pretty much decided.”

It seemed this sleazy-eyed man’s deep analysis of basketball was not to be underestimated!

But upon reflection, Lin Zifeng thought it made sense.

If Liu Minghui hadn’t relied on his towering physique and tank-like robustness, who would take him seriously on the basketball court?

”So that’s how it is?” Lin Zifeng nodded his head, indicating he understood somewhat.

No wonder the Rockets team conceded defeat without a fight, it’s because they were wary of my combat prowess and chose to give up proactively, huh?

It seems that the so-called basketball game isn’t just about showing off and picking up girls, but can also resolve personal conflicts. Like if someone can’t stand someone else and can’t find a reasonable excuse to retaliate, they just hold a game and take advantage of the process to play the other person to death. No wonder college students these days are so into basketball, it looks like Lin Zifeng’s high school appreciation of basketball skills was still not enough.

”Kid! We finally meet!”

Just as Lin Zifeng and the others were having a good chat, planning where to go for dinner after five to celebrate.

From the crowd, a skinny tall boy with dyed yellow hair, cigarette in mouth, walked towards Lin Zifeng with a swagger he thought was cool.

Everyone turned their heads at the same time, exchanged glances, and signified they didn’t know the guy.

”Are you calling me?” Lin Zifeng asked, confused.

”Yes! I’m talking to you!”

The yellow-haired boy talked big, as if he was something else, especially in a place full of girls, and deliberately raised his voice. This drew a round of eye rolls from the girls.

”But I don’t know you?” Lin Zifeng shrugged helplessly, indicating he really hadn’t seen this person before in his memory.

”It doesn’t matter if you don’t know me, what’s important is that I know you,” the yellow-haired boy replied.

The yellow-haired guy stood with his hands on his hips, body slanted and eyes sizing up Lin Zifeng with a hostile look.

”Look at you, getting all uppity! How much more do you want to suck up? Who the hell are you? Bounce back wherever you came from and don’t spout nonsense here, or I might slap you across the face!”

Liu Minghui was well-known for his fiery temper, and it wasn’t just talk.

Without a word, he rolled up his sleeve that had a vulgar tattoo of a woman’s breasts, his eyes fierce, obviously itching to rush up and smack the guy hard on the mouth.

”What, what do you want to do?” The yellow hair stepped back two steps in fright, eyeing everyone warily.

”I want to smack you!” Liu Minghui, who was already seething with anger, didn’t care who it was and was ready to move forward to hit the yellow hair when Lin Zifeng stepped in to stop him.

”Don’t be impulsive, let’s talk it out,” said Lin Zifeng, who wasn’t someone to stir up trouble, especially not with these worthless kids.

”You all wait for me! Don’t you dare run away. When my boss gets here, you’ll all be crying!” The yellow hair, seeing Liu Minghui was serious and getting frightened to the point his complexion changed, quickly made an excuse to escape the scene.

”Idiot!”

The Real Madrid team shouted unanimously.

Indeed, in less than half a minute, the yellow hair really did call for backup.

However, when Lin Zifeng saw the guy leading them, he felt he looked somewhat familiar.

But he couldn’t remember where he’d seen him before.

Suddenly, Huahua and Liu Tangtang slapped their foreheads, covering them and said with a troubled face, ”Not this hanger-on again!”

”Hanger-on? You guys know him?” Lin Zifeng turned back and asked, puzzled.
