Chapter 356 Uncle, Come to School with Us

”Assistant Lin, the president didn’t say anything just now, did he?” The two receptionists were still quite concerned about Nangong Bing’s recent call, after all, it was the first time the president had called the front desk. If this had happened on a normal day, it would certainly have caused a little stir.

”No,” Lin Zifeng waved his hand dismissively, then suddenly became serious and coughed, ”Ahem, well, the president did say something.” Lin Zifeng coughed twice, keeping a straight face as he spoke the previous sentence, seemingly brewing the next.

”What did the president say?” the receptionist asked, a bit nervous.

”Ahem,” the guy coughed again to clear his throat and said solemnly, ”The president said, in addition to your regular duties from now on, you should also consider our great Assistant Lin. Small tasks like serving tea and water—if you happen to have the time—well, the two of you might be troubled to do them. Of course! This is just what the president said, not my intention at all, believe it or not, it’s up to you.”

”Err... Is that true? Is that really what the president said just now?”

The two receptionists exchanged glances, somewhat disbelieving.

”Of course, do the two of you also doubt what the president said? If you don’t believe it, you can call back the number from earlier and ask. Oh! Right, I’ve got something to do now, no time to chat, but what I said earlier is really what the president herself said, believe it or not, it’s up to you!”

While speaking, Lin Zifeng’s eyes flicked up, glancing at them both, greeted, and then walked proudly out toward the finance department’s doorway.

”Is it true or not?”

The poor receptionists looked at each other again, feeling a bit dumbfounded as they touched their heads.

...

Driving Nangong Bing’s newly issued red BMW this month, with the warm wind blasting, one couldn’t help feeling quite stylish.

If only I could carry a sexy, fiery girl in the car, then it would have been perfect. It’s just too boring to drive alone.

Just then, Lin Zifeng’s treasured Samsung phone, always tucked in his pocket, rang, playing the same old Huang Jiaju’s song, ”Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies.”

Glancing at the number, it was from Black Hawk.

”How’s it going?” Lin Zifeng asked with a relaxed laugh, knowing that in this period, Black Hawk’s drug cravings had hit three times, but luckily, using Lin Zifeng’s method, Black Hawk had managed to get through the tough times with his strong willpower, although his robust arms nearly turned into wasp nests.

”When are you free to meet him, big brother?” Black Hawk was exceptionally excited today, even his voice over the phone was filled with a small thrill.

”That soon?” Lin Zifeng was also surprised by Black Hawk’s efficiency, and then said, ”How about tomorrow night?”

”Okay, but...”

”But what?” Lin Zifeng asked.

”Big brother, you should prepare yourself. Although we’ve settled things this time, the officials up top really want to meet you. What do you think we should do?”

After a moment of reflection, Lin Zifeng chuckled and replied, ”Sure. Since they want to meet me, let’s meet. They are going to find out sooner or later anyway.”

It wasn’t bad news that the official forces of Huaxia were aware of his return. After all, the person Black Hawk had found was a high-level official. Lin Zifeng had developed a deep friendship with them abroad, but since his return, he hadn’t wanted too many people to know about it, especially as the powers at home and abroad were getting increasingly unstable. His return was bound to leak out sooner or later. He might as well prepare everything beforehand, so even if Heavenly Gate came looking for him, he would have an ace up his sleeve to protect himself...

”But, won’t this expose news of your return? I’m just worried that people from Heavenly Gate will trace your current whereabouts.”

”What must come will eventually come...” Lin Zifeng’s deep gaze exuded a confident luster, everything was within his arrangements. What could Heavenly Gate do even if they found him? That would be a problem for later...

After hanging up the call with Black Hawk, he checked the time—almost eleven o’clock. If he didn’t hurry to the villa, those two girls would certainly be jumping up and down in anxiety.

It wasn’t long before the red BMW slowly pulled into Huahua’s villa.

Right then, the two girls were sitting on a small bench outside the villa, holding various large and small bags, eating snacks, drinking soda, playing mobile games, without the slightest hint of impatience. Instead, they were wearing sunglasses and enjoying the sun wonderfully.

”Uncle, you’ve arrived!”

Seeing Lin Zifeng getting out of the car, Liu Tangtang quickly scurried over, almost giving him a bear hug and cuddling up to him.

”What’s with all this?”

Looking at the heaps of large and small packages, towering over one meter tall, Lin Zifeng was also taken aback.

”Inside is all the toys and snacks me and Huahua usually like,” Liu Tangtang said mischievously.

”Snacks? Toys? Are you guys moving?”

”No way, the school is organizing military training recently, so me and Huahua decided to stay on campus for a few days to experience college life.”

”Experience life?” Lin Zifeng felt an urge to bang his head against the wall. You don’t need to bring so much stuff just to experience life, do you?

How is this not different from moving?

”I’m here to take you to school, not to help you move like a moving company. Do you really need to bring so much stuff?”

”Uncle, you just don’t understand, do you? This is called being trendy. Trendy, get it? We are going to the most famous school in Zhonghai City. There are lots of rich kids there. If we don’t show up with enough flair, they will laugh at me and Huahua! Plus, Huahua is a future music queen. If she becomes famous and the paparazzi dig up old stuff, it would be embarrassing,” Liu Tangtang said, tilting her cute head and pouting her rosy lips as she turned a trivial matter into a grand story. What are kids thinking these days?

”Fine, do as you please. After all, it’s you who are going to school, not me. I just need to drop you off at school and I’ll leave.”

”No, no! Uncle, not only do we need to go to school, but you also have to come with us!”

”What!? I have to go to school too? Are you... are you kidding me? I’m old, do you really want to wear out these old arms and legs?” Lin Zifeng suddenly exclaimed, feeling like Liu Tangtang was still half asleep and talking nonsense.

”Yes, uncle, didn’t you know?” Liu Tangtang batted her big watery eyes innocently while looking at him with a tilted head.

”I, I don’t know shit!” Lin Zifeng cursed vehemently.

”Eh? Didn’t I have Nangong tell you everything? How could you possibly not know?” Liu Tangtang said as she pranced over to Huahua, who still looked upset, pointed at her, and continued, ”If you don’t believe me, ask Huahua.”

”Don’t talk to me, I don’t want to speak with him!” Huahua had been angry with Lin Zifeng since the last incident and simply turned her head away, ignoring him.

Lin Zifeng helplessly shrugged his shoulders, indicating he knew nothing.

”Since Huahua won’t talk right now, let me tell you,” Liu Tangtang giggled mischievously as she moved back in front of Lin Zifeng. ”I had someone submit your enrollment application yesterday. Today, you just need to report to school with us, but... We are studying vocal music, and you will be in archaeology. As for how we got you a spot, you shouldn’t ask too much, uncle. Today you just need to honestly join us for military training, oh! And you should probably report to the Archaeology Department at some point, after all, as a new student, you need to at least introduce yourself on the first day,” she said, not caring about how Lin Zifeng might feel.

With a spin of her dark and lively eyes, Liu Tangtang added, ”From now on, uncle, you’ll be our personal bodyguard. If we encounter any trouble during our college days that we can’t handle, you’ll have to step in and deal with it! After all, me and Huahua are future music queens, and it’s essential to have at least one bodyguard with us, right?”

”Oh, come on! You want me to go to school with a bunch of kids? Tangtang, are you sick?” Lin Zifeng finally swore at her.

”You did this without consulting me, just applied for my enrollment?”

At that moment, Lin Zifeng felt the whole sky was dark and the world too crazy. He still didn’t understand what Liu Tangtang was talking about, yet he had become a college student? Could money really be that powerful in this world?

”Heehee, aren’t you so happy, uncle? But don’t get too excited. You are just our study partner and bodyguard. The Archaeology Department is a very niche department, with hardly any girls there, so don’t get any ideas,” Liu Tangtang danced and giggled, feeling utterly clever.

”No way!”

Lin Zifeng flatly refused.

Without his consent, he had inexplicably become a college student. What kind of prank were these kids pulling? Happy? More like utterly dismayed.

Was this the reason Nangong Bing had been looking for him today, to stop him from going to Tianyu for work and instead accompany them as a student?

What kind of joke is this?

I’m supposed to be Huahua’s future cousin-in-law, and Nangong Bing’s future husband. Am I really just their personal bodyguard now?

”You don’t get to decide that! Nangong has already agreed to our request. You can choose not to report during your school time, but you must protect us daily. You must take us to school every day!”

”Look, Tangtang, are you messing with me?” Lin Zifeng squinted his eyes, feeling that something was off.

”No, no, of course not, how could me and Huahua be messing with you?” Liu Tangtang hurriedly waved her hands.
