After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2084: Chapter 2088: Might As Well Play

Moreover, Shangguan Feng and she are only acquaintances. Now looking at him, he seems unlike Xu Xia, that dead fly, but you can never know someone’s heart just from their face.

Once bitten, twice shy; after experiencing the Tang Ming incident last time, Xu Xia is actually more vigilant about people like Shangguan Feng, who appear gentle and refined.

Who can guarantee he won’t be another Tang Ming?!

In comparison, she’s more willing to deal with someone like Xu Xia.

At least, he is direct and doesn’t conceal anything.

”Alright then.” Shangguan Feng noticed her distrust and didn’t say anything further, merely shrugging with a smile.

Xu Xia nodded at him and casually walked into the venue with Lan Zi.

Inside the casino, it was brightly lit and luxuriously decorated. The house dealer with a white shirt and black vest skillfully shuffled the cards, while young, beautiful female staff in tight short skirts moved around, outlining their graceful figures.

The guests who arrived earlier had already received their complimentary chips; some were observing while others had moved to the tables to start betting on various games like Blackjack, cards, dice...

”Please, come this way!”

Seeing Xu Xia and Lan Zi, a server quickly and politely guided them to the counter to collect their complimentary chips worth ten thousand US dollars and handed them over to the two.

Lan Zi took the tray loaded with chips, wearing an expression of awe. ”Now this is true wealth. Look at these guests, nearly a hundred in number, plus the ones who came because of the buzz. Altogether, that’s millions of US dollars, it’s like tossing money into a pond!”

”Look at these people, who’s really lacking money?” Xu Xia pointed her chin at a young girl seated at the gaming table. Beside the girl was a pot-bellied middle-aged man, looking like father and daughter, yet the girl was throwing seductive glances at the man, who in turn tossed heaps of bets onto the table. ”See that? A single round of bets is tens of thousands of US dollars, soon it’ll be hundreds of thousands. It won’t even take half an hour to earn these millions of US dollars back!”

What is a casino? It’s a place that devours people without leaving bones.

Lei Wenting and Lei Qingqing run this five-star hotel, and one of the key revenue-generating projects is the casino, of course. Apart from that, there’s another very important function here—money laundering.

Once the money passes through the gaming table, black money becomes white, becoming part of the hotel’s revenue.

”Let’s go, let’s make a few bets.” Xu Xia spoke with a smile, ”This money can’t be taken away anyway, might as well play!”

”Do you really want to gamble?” Lan Zi frowned, looking a bit worried.

”Don’t worry, I’ll leave once these are gone. I won’t give them any more money.” Xu Xia glanced around, her gaze landing at a dice gaming table. She didn’t understand complex games, but for these two days, she would play the simplest one. ”Let’s play this one.”

Lan Zi saw her looking excited and could only follow her over.

Several guests were already standing by the table, and a new round was about to begin.

The rules were simple: the dealer rolls the dice, and gamblers bet on odd or even, big or small.

Xu Xia casually took a few chips and was about to throw them into the even spot.

”Do you think it will be odd or even?”

”Of course it will be even.”

”Then you’re wrong, it’s odd!” A hand stretched over, gently pulling her wrist, causing the chips Xu Xia was about to place on the even spot to land on the odd spot.
