Chapter 2071: Chapter 2075: Luo’s Baked Egg Pancake

”It’s done!”

Luo Xiaoqian walked straight over, picked up the Cake whose beaten egg mixture had gone stiff, and headed out the door.

This Cake wasn’t actually her real work, but the one she’d made with her own hands, she didn’t want Luo Ke to eat.

Watching her back as she walked out, then looking at the oven that was still counting down, Leng Zimo’s lips slowly curved up.

He didn’t know the reason, but at least he was sure of one thing—that even with her amnesia, Luo Xiaoqian still didn’t like Luo Ke. Otherwise, why would she give Luo Ke the ruined Cake to eat?!

As expected of his woman. Even if she doesn’t remember anything, she still hasn’t betrayed him.

At that thought, Leng Zimo felt both joy and heartache.

No, he had to hurry, he had to get her out of this tiger’s den as soon as possible.

Luo Xiaoqian brought the Cake out and set it in front of Luo Ke, took off the lid, and when she saw the exposed Cake, she was a bit stunned herself.

Because it had been over-beaten, this Cake hadn’t risen at all. How could it be called a Cake? At best it was a baked egg pancake, extra-thick edition.

She’d only wanted to half‑heartedly deal with Luo Ke, but she hadn’t expected it to be such a failure.

”It doesn’t look great. Forget it, better not eat it.”

”It’s fine, it’s your first time. Being able to do this much is already pretty good.” Luo Ke bent down to sniff it. ”I think it smells nice. Let me try it.”

He raised his hand, cut off a piece of Cake with the knife, brought it to his mouth, gave her a smile, then took a big bite.

The thin top layer was barely acceptable, but the middle was completely sticky and gooey, simply inedible.

But seeing Luo Xiaoqian beside him, Luo Ke was too embarrassed to spit it out. He forced himself to swallow a bite and even put on an expression of enjoyment, praising it against his conscience.

”Mm, really... not bad!”

”Really?” Luo Xiaoqian was a little surprised. ”Then make sure you eat more. I’m going upstairs to take a shower.”

Then she turned and went upstairs.

Luo Ke chewed that mouthful of ”Cake” over and over. Watching her go upstairs, he immediately grabbed a tissue and spat the Cake out, then looked at the large amount of Cake left in his hand. Luo Ke arched a brow, wanting to throw it away, but after thinking for a moment, felt that wasn’t right either.

If she saw it, she’d definitely be disappointed, right?

With that in mind, he picked up the Cake and held it out to the bodyguards standing to the side.

”You two, finish all of this. And remember, don’t tell Sissi about this!”

Walking toward the stairs, Luo Xiaoqian remembered she still had an apron tied around her. She untied it on the spot, intending to take it downstairs. When she reached the turn on the second floor, she happened to see Luo Ke handing the Cake to the two bodyguards.

Seeing Luo Ke turn around, Luo Xiaoqian quickly took a step back, hiding in the second‑floor corridor.

It was just a Cake. If it didn’t taste good, he didn’t have to eat it. Even if he was eating her Cake just to comfort her, he didn’t need to deal with the leftovers this way, right?

To lie to her over such a small thing made Luo Xiaoqian trust Luo Ke’s words even less.

Tiptoeing back up to the third floor, Luo Xiaoqian went into her bedroom and took out the photos the lawyer had left last time from the drawer, studying them carefully.

Very quickly, she noticed a problem.

The photos looked almost perfect, but if you examined them closely, you could still spot some issues in the details.

For example, the light and shadow—that’s the hardest part to fake.

So, the photos were fake too?

Then the things he and the lawyer told her were also lies?

Then who on earth is she?!

...

Good night
