After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2070: Chapter 2074: Not Wanting to Be Intimate with Him

”Sissi?”

At the kitchen door, Luo Ke’s voice came.

Hearing his voice, Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly turned her face and looked at him.

”What are you doing here?” Luo Ke walked over, his brows slightly furrowed.

”I’m learning how to make Cake from the head chef, sir.” Luo Xiaoqian answered with a smile.

”Really?” Luo Ke’s gaze swept over the flour on her clothes, and he raised his hand, wanting to pick it off for her.

Luo Xiaoqian took a step back. ”No need, you’ll get your suit dirty. I’ll go take a shower and change in a bit.”

She had never been used to Luo Ke’s closeness, and now, with Leng Zimo standing there, she felt even more unwilling to be close to him—especially unwilling to be too intimate with him in front of Leng Zimo.

Only, in order not to arouse Luo Ke’s suspicion, she deliberately said it like that.

”Shall I walk you upstairs?” Luo Ke asked gently.

”We still have to wait a while. The Cake I made hasn’t come out of the oven yet.” Luo Xiaoqian tipped her chin at the oven. ”Dressed like that, this isn’t a place you should be staying. Go wait outside, and later you can try my handiwork.”

For Luo Ke, the kitchen was definitely not somewhere he wanted to linger.

”Alright, I’ll wait for you.”

He gave her a smile and turned to walk out the door.

Watching him walk out, Luo Xiaoqian finally let out a quiet sigh of relief in her heart.

Leng Zimo hadn’t spoken the whole time; he just stood to the side, watching the two of them. He could tell that Luo Xiaoqian was lying.

She wasn’t someone good at lying. Every time she lied, her fingers would move unconsciously, like pinching the hem of her clothes or some other small gesture... If it was a serious lie, sometimes her face would flush and her ears would burn.

Just now, when she was talking to Luo Ke, her fingers had been playing the whole time with a paper towel she’d casually picked up from the counter. She was obviously just brushing Luo Ke off.

If she really had completely lost her memory and remembered nothing, why would she be deliberately avoiding Luo Ke?

Was it because her subconscious still remembered him, or had she already sensed something?

...

Leng Zimo silently speculated.

Right now, what Luo Xiaoqian’s attitude and thoughts toward Luo Ke actually were was extremely important to whether he could successfully rescue her and get her out; he had to find a way to figure it out.

”Will this... take a long time to bake?”

Luo Xiaoqian leaned closer to him and asked in a low voice in Chinese.

Leng Zimo glanced at the time on the oven and held up three fingers to her, indicating it would take another thirty minutes.

”Don’t you think having such a long beard doesn’t really look like a chef?” Luo Xiaoqian suddenly changed the subject.

Why was she suddenly bringing up the beard?!

Leng Zimo froze for a moment. Unable to read what she was thinking, he only waved his hand at her and shrugged, indicating that he hadn’t heard.

Luo Xiaoqian didn’t believe him at all.

After everything that had happened, she’d already summed it up: when he wanted to understand, he could understand; when he didn’t want to understand, he suddenly couldn’t.

It seemed that the beard was something he didn’t want to talk about.

”I remember you said you can play the piano. Can you play a piece for me?”

Leng Zimo nodded immediately. Of course he was willing. Back then, it had been the jolt of a piece of music that had made him remember her. If she heard him play, would she remember him?

”It’s a deal!”

Luo Xiaoqian held out her palm to him.

Leng Zimo glanced toward the kitchen door, and only after making sure no one was paying attention did he raise his hand and press his palm to her small one.

Just as they were lowering their hands, Luo Ke once again pushed open the kitchen door and, sounding a bit impatient, asked, ”Still not done yet?”
