After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2069: Chapter 2073: Leng Zimo’s Subtle Clues

She didn’t mind his closeness, which was good; it was already a significant step forward. He couldn’t ask too much of her; after all, her situation at that time was quite different from his. She had not only forgotten him, but everything else as well.

He didn’t know if Luo Xiaoqian would be able to remember everything again, but he wasn’t worried about it.

So what if she forgot? At most, he’d just pursue her again.

Her not rejecting him was a good start. Leng Zimo was confident he could win her over again.

Watching Leng Zimo pour the egg liquid into the sink, Luo Xiaoqian curiously asked, ”Is this... unusable?”

There was a hint of apology in her tone.

Her childhood of frugality had ingrained in Luo Xiaoqian the habit of thriftiness, especially never wasting food. Even though she now had a considerable fortune, she was still her same self.

Pouring it out like this felt like a bit of a pity.

Leng Zimo glanced at her sideways, smiled indulgently, then retrieved the tilted bowl, sifted in flour, carefully mixed it, poured it into the Cake mold, and placed it in the oven.

Seeing him reuse what was initially going to be discarded warmed Luo Xiaoqian’s heart.

This man seemed to understand her thoughts without her needing to say much.

The feeling was truly subtle.

By this time, Leng Zimo had already gotten new eggs, cracked them, removed impurities, added powdered sugar, and handed her the beater once again.

He didn’t say anything, just smiled at her. His smile contained indulgent spoiling and encouragement, as if saying that it was okay to try again, that she could do it.

She understood his gaze, smiled, and took the beater, mimicking his actions. She dipped it into the egg liquid and turned on the switch.

The beater whirred, quickly breaking the eggs into frothy liquid, gradually changing color.

Leng Zimo observed the egg liquid from the side, then added sugar powder again...

When the egg mixture reached the desired consistency, he reached out and pulled the beater from the liquid, the tip covered with foam-like ice cream texture.

”Very... good!”

Leng Zimo praised in Chinese, giving her a thumbs up.

”What’s next? Do we add the flour?” Luo Xiaoqian asked curiously. She wasn’t sure if she had made a Cake before, but now... this was definitely her first time.

Leng Zimo demonstrated for her, and Luo Xiaoqian followed his guidance step by step, placing nuts to create an adorable Little Piggy design before pouring the prepared egg liquid into the Cake pan.

Ding!

The oven chimed softly, signaling the Cake was ready.

Luo Xiaoqian excitedly went over, wanting to open the oven door.

”Careful... hot!”

Leng Zimo exclaimed, rushing over to stop her, signaling for her to step aside. He put on gloves before opening the oven and taking out the baked Cake.

As she watched him invert the Cake onto the board, Luo Xiaoqian’s eyes held a hint of scrutiny.

Just now, his ”Careful, hot” was said perfectly in native, authentic Chinese, quite different from the often clumsy Chinese he used when speaking with her.

Could this man really not speak Chinese?!

Luo Xiaoqian harbored deep suspicion.

He had worried about her just now, which was why he had blurted out in Chinese. On recalling his fake mustache from before, Luo Xiaoqian’s heart vaguely guessed at something.
