After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2072: Chapter 2076: Not Master of One’s Own Fate

Is there really a wedding contract between Luo Ke and her?

Luo Xiaoqian simply couldn’t believe it.

Sure, Luo Ke takes good care of her, but just because of amnesia, could she possibly transform from previous love to complete indifference now?

Taking a step back, even if she had loved Luo Ke before, could an amnesia alone stop that love? Was that love ever true?

Luo Xiaoqian walked into the changing room and took out a note from the inside pocket of a coat.

The note stated that she was hypnotized to forget everything; who was the person who hypnotized her? Was it Luo Ke?

Could it be that Luo Ke was doing these things to her because he wanted to possess her?

It must be!

Luo Xiaoqian’s fingers tightened around the note involuntarily, and then another question jumped into her mind.

If that’s the case, then who helped hypnotize her? If she finds this person, could she regain her memory and know everything?

Frowning, Luo Xiaoqian once more fell into deep thought.

Xu Xia finished her day of filming by the time it was dusk.

Returning from the outdoor location to the hotel, she hurriedly took a shower and then threw herself onto the bed in her pajamas.

The hotel’s opening event in the evening was at seven o’clock; there was still more than an hour left, and she needed to rest well to gather her energy.

This kind of social engagement was originally her least favorite, but as a public figure, such events were also a very important part of her work. Xu Xia was also in the public eye, with obligations beyond her control.

Originally, Xu Xia just wanted to rest briefly, but as soon as her head touched the pillow, she fell asleep.

At six o’clock, Lan Zi came in carrying a light dinner.

Seeing Xu Xia sleeping soundly on the pillow, Lan Zi was somewhat reluctant to wake her. The past few days’ intense work combined with the travel had truly exhausted her, but this event had been arranged days ago, and canceling at the last minute would affect the trust in her professional commitments.

After letting Xu Xia sleep for ten more minutes, Lan Zi woke her up.

After washing her face with cold water to clear her mind, Xu Xia took the dinner Lan Zi brought her and sat on the bed with her long legs crossed to eat. Lan Zi briefly introduced the work schedule to her.

”It’s mainly the ribbon cutting, followed by a hotel dessert charity auction, then a cocktail party. You can leave after a while, but you’ll be staying there tonight; it’s also a way to help increase the hotel’s buzz. I’ll bring your pajamas and other items over.”

Xu Xia nodded while eating; this wasn’t her first time attending such an event. The most worrisome part was typically the final cocktail party, with numerous men trying to flirt—which annoys her greatly. However, this time the event is overseas, and there might not be many Chinese people, so hopefully fewer people will recognize her, possibly making it better than similar events in China.

After she was seventy percent full, Xu Xia put down her spoon and got up again to brush her teeth and wash her face. Lan Zi called Xiao Gao and another standby makeup artist over to help her with her makeup, hair, and changing clothes.

Tonight, Lan Zi prepared for Xu Xia a set of black evening wear, with a tight-fitting Chinese-style short dress adorned with dark gold embroidery underneath, and a black tulle train draping down to the feet.

Featuring Chinese elements, it was glamorous and majestic, yet retained a mysterious sensuality—perfectly suited to Xu Xia’s temperament.
