After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1494: Chapter 1498: She Likes Him

With both hands holding her shoulders, he finally straightened his arms and pushed her away.

”Xu Xia, you’re drunk!”

”I’m not drunk!” Xu Xia raised her voice abruptly, but didn’t dare to lift her face to look at him, ”I’m very sober right now, Leng Zirui. I know I’m not good enough for you, but I really do like you. Laugh at me if you want, I know I’m far from Xiao Qian. I’m impulsive, I’m rude, and I’m all thumbs, never able to do anything right... I know I’m not suitable for you, but I... I can’t control myself... I... I just like you!”

Leng Zirui looked at her in astonishment.

She said she likes him?!

After finishing her words with her head hanging low and receiving no response from him, Xu Xia abruptly turned around and ran towards the distant building.

As expected, there was no miracle.

He just thought of her as a buddy.

Let him stand there and laugh at her then. She’s said everything, and come tomorrow morning, she can pretend nothing happened.

Yes, she was just drunkenly rambling anyway. Even if he talks about it, who would believe?

After a night’s sleep, Xu Xia will still be a hero tomorrow!

”Stop right there!”

Leng Zirui’s voice rang out.

Xu Xia wanted to run, but her legs turned to jelly and she stopped instinctively.

Behind her, footsteps drew closer.

As he approached her, her heart was about to leap out.

This was the first time ever that she confessed to someone.

The jerk, he must be coming to laugh at her!

Turning her face to see his feet gradually coming closer, Xu Xia’s heart was about to jump out of her chest.

”Xu Xia, you’re not that bad.” Leng Zirui stopped in front of her. ”And you don’t have to compare yourself to Xiao Qian. You two are completely different types. I think you’re a nice girl...”

And now comes the rejection, right?!

Just like she’d rejected others before, compliment them a bit for comfort, then say, ”You’re a good man, just not my type.”

A pang of bitterness hit her heart.

Xu Xia clenched her fingers tightly, then burst into laughter, shaking so hard with her laughter that tears came out.

”Ha... Leng Zirui, you didn’t really believe me, did you?!” She raised her hand to wipe her face, ”This is killing me, I’m laughing so hard I’m crying, right? Was my acting just on point?!”

Leng Zirui initially wanted to say, ”I like you too.”

But after hearing her words, he swallowed his own with a slight smile on his lips, ”Xu Xia, you’re no fun. I was actually going to play along with you, but you ruined it by laughing so soon.”

Leng Zirui oh Leng Zirui, you don’t know, I’m not just breaking character.

It’s just that I’m afraid you’ll see me cry.

It’s just that I don’t want to hear your rejection.

”Couldn’t help it!” Xu Xia laughed again, ”Zirui, your kissing skills are really something, but I think we’re better off as good buddies. Good buddies can last a lifetime. Lovers, if things go wrong, might not even remain friends, don’t you think?”

”I think so too. From now on... let’s just be good buddies!” Leng Zirui took a gentle breath, ”And don’t burrow into my arms without reason. If I couldn’t control myself earlier, it would be so awkward meeting after that!”

Xu Xia tried hard to keep a smile, ”It was my fault today, shouldn’t let myself go after drinking. I’ll pay attention next time. It’s getting late, you should sleep early too. Let’s just pretend tonight never happened, goodnight!”

...

...

Goodnight.
