After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1476: Chapter 1480: Why Are You Giving Me Gifts?

”You really are a handful!” He raised his hand to wipe away her tears and frowned as he handed the driving license back to her, placing it in her palm. ”This time, I’ll return your license, but don’t ever drive like that again. If I find out you disobey again, I’ll get someone to revoke your license.”

He initially intended to withhold her license for a few more days, but seeing her like this, he couldn’t bear it.

His tone was gentle, and Xu Xia couldn’t muster a rebuttal, whispering instead, ”I understand.”

”Good girl!” Leng Zirui raised his hand to pat her cheek. ”Go take a shower and get some sleep.”

Xu Xia nodded, climbed down from him, jumped off the bed, picked up her handbag from the floor, and turned towards the door.

Watching her back, Leng Zirui was once again reminded of her in just her underwear, causing his blood to rush. He turned his gaze aside and noticed a jewelry box on the counter. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around himself.

”Xu Xia, wait!”

Xu Xia had already reached the door, about to leave. She paused and turned, seeing him stride towards her. ”What are you doing again...”

Before she could finish her question, her wrist was already caught by his hand, followed by a cool sensation around it. She looked down to see Leng Zirui fastening the Rainbow Bracelet on her wrist.

”What... what are you doing?!” Xu Xia asked, puzzled.

Leng Zirui secured the clasp on the bracelet, lifted her hand, and took a look. ”It looks pretty good, suits you well!”

It suits her well?

Wasn’t this supposed to be for his girlfriend?!

”Silly!” Leng Zirui immediately saw through her thoughts and gave her an amused glance. ”I don’t have a girlfriend. This bracelet was always meant for you!”

Xu Xia was taken aback. ”Why?”

”’What’s a few lousy clothes? Others give me jewelry,’ isn’t that what you said?” Leng Zirui mimicked her tone.

If other men can give her gifts, so can he!

Xu Xia looked at his face. ”So you’re saying those clothes were for me too?”

”Of course not! Do you think it’s for me to wear?” Leng Zirui grinned devilishly.

”But...” Xu Xia’s gaze shifted to the sparkling bracelet on her wrist. ”Why are you giving me these things?”

Because he liked her, because he wanted to give them, wasn’t that reason enough?

Leng Zirui thought to himself but maintained a nonchalant expression on his face.

”Because you once gave me a T-shirt. It’s only fair to reciprocate. We’re such good buddies, how could I accept your gift for free?” He laughed, moving closer. ”This is the first time I’ve given a girl something, don’t refuse! Otherwise, it’d be embarrassing for me if the word gets out!”

Xu Xia felt a twinge of sourness in her heart.

She liked the gift, but his words ”good buddies” made her want to cry.

No, she couldn’t show her feelings. If this guy discovered she liked him, he’d never let her live it down.

He would definitely say, ”Didn’t you claim that even if all the men in the world died, you wouldn’t like me?”

”I like someone with curves, not flat as a board!”

”Didn’t you say the guys chasing you could line up from Dongdan to Xidan?”

...

Xu Xia, you have to hold it together, absolutely can’t let it show.

Biting her lip to suppress her emotions, Xu Xia beamed brightly. ”Then I won’t hold back!”

”That’s the spirit, good brothers right?” Leng Zirui laughed.
