After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1492: Chapter 1496: Will We Not Even Be Friends?

Xu Xia bent over to pick up the drink he threw to her from the ground, and when she saw the word juice on it, her eyes suddenly lit up.

They say alcohol gives courage to heroes, so this time she also wanted to use it to bolster her courage.

If the confession failed, she’d just claim she’s drunk and then completely give up.

Yes, that’s it. It’s indeed a perfect plan.

”I don’t want juice, I’m going to get wine!”

Without giving Leng Zirui a chance to stop her, Xu Xia had already sprinted towards the living room.

”Shaochuan is right, women are indeed strange creatures!”

Leng Zirui shrugged his shoulders and sat on the swing chair.

He had just taken a sip of juice when Xu Xia returned in a flurry, carrying a bottle of red wine and two glasses.

Leng Zirui looked at the glass she handed over, just shook his head, ”I can’t drink alcohol.”

”Do as you like, just consider it keeping me company.”

”Just a small glass!” Leng Zirui said.

Luo Jun and Xu Xia’s safety was in his hands, he couldn’t afford to let his guard down.

”Alright, just a small glass!” Xu Xia popped the cork and poured him half a glass of wine, while she filled her own glass more than half full, sitting by her side, she handed the glass over, ”Let’s celebrate the success of Leng Zimo’s surgery!”

Leng Zirui took a shallow sip, while Xu Xia gulped down more than half in one go.

”Don’t you have engagements tomorrow, drink less.” He hurriedly reminded.

”No worries, just an interview in the afternoon.” Xu Xia took another big gulp.

Soon, a full glass had gone down her throat.

Looking at Leng Zirui in front of her gently swirling his glass, she opened her mouth but still couldn’t say it.

It must be not enough wine!

Xu Xia thought.

”Still drinking, Miss Grandma?!” Seeing her bend over to pick up the bottle from the ground, Leng Zirui reached over and took it from her hand.

”Just one last glass, one last glass.” Xu Xia smiled appeasingly, ”Good buddy, pour me another!”

Looking at her expression, he couldn’t help but relent and reached over to pour her half a glass.

Xu Xia slowly drank from her glass, her gaze focused on his profile, noticing her stare, Leng Zirui turned his face in confusion.

Seeing her weird expression, Leng Zirui raised his eyebrow slightly, ”Did you encounter any trouble?”

Ever since the shooting range, this girl had been acting weird, staring at him blankly all night, hesitating several times to speak, he inevitably worried.

”It’s... it’s like this, a friend of mine, a girl, a girlfriend, she recently discovered she’s fallen for a good guy friend of hers, this good friend, he’s a guy, you know what I mean, right?”

”Your girlfriend has a crush on one of her male friends?”

”Yes, that’s it, but the key is, she doesn’t know what this male friend thinks of her, you... understand?!”

”She wants to know how he feels about her, right?”

”Leng Zirui, you’re so smart, that’s exactly what I meant!”

Leng Zirui looked sideways into her eyes, ”Does that have anything to do with us?!”

”It seems...” Xu Xia lowered her eyelids, ”Nothing really, actually... actually I have something I want to say to you...”

”Say it.”

”I... I just want to ask...” Xu Xia bit her lip, raised her face, and looked at him, ”Leng Zirui, you...”

In the night, his eyes were as bright as stars, focusing intently on her.

Xu Xia suddenly felt a tightness in her heart.

He’s so smart, if she said it, he’d surely know she’s pretending to be drunk, and then, would they still be friends at all?!
