After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1482: Chapter 1486: I’m... I’m Just Hot!

”Your forehead doesn’t feel hot?” Leng Zirui lifted his hand and touched her face, ”Why is your face so hot?!”

”Your hand is just too cold.” Xu Xia covered up.

”Is that so?” Leng Zirui lifted his hand to hold her face, directly pressing his forehead against hers to check her temperature.

Seeing his face coming closer, Xu Xia was momentarily stunned. Before she could react, his face was already touching her forehead. She almost fell into his embrace. His breath brushed past her hair, tickling her. With such closeness, she could even smell the faint lemon scent from him.

This guy, did he just take a shower?!

Xu Xia’s heart started pounding faster, and her face became even more flushed.

”Your forehead isn’t hot, but your breathing seems a bit heavy.” Leng Zirui frowned, releasing her, and then took her wrist, ”Let’s go, I’ll take you to the clinic for the military doctor to check you out!”

”I’m really fine.” Xu Xia stood still, refusing to go.

She wasn’t sick. Why go to the clinic?!

”Come on, aren’t you a kid? Are you afraid of the doctor?”

”You’re the one afraid of doctors. I’m not sick, so why should I see a doctor?!” Xu Xia shook off his hand, ”I’m... I’m just hot!”

”Are you sure there’s nothing wrong?” Leng Zirui asked again.

”I swear on Mo Mo godmother’s honor, I’m really fine.” Xu Xia diverted the topic, ”Didn’t you say you were going to take us to the shooting range? Mo Mo and I have been waiting for two hours, right, godson?!”

”Yes!” The little guy immediately nodded, ”Uncle Zirui, can we go now?”

Leng Zirui reached over again to feel Xu Xia’s forehead, confirming she didn’t have a fever, and then agreed, ”Alright, get in the car, we’re going to the shooting range!”

Xu Xia immediately excitedly walked to the car, holding the little guy as she sat in the passenger seat, and Leng Zirui started the car.

Worried that Xu Xia and Luo Jun might be overheated, Leng Zirui took them directly to the indoor shooting range.

The person in charge saw him and quickly ran over, snapping a salute, ”General, sir!”

Leng Zirui waved his hand, ”Bring two handguns!”

An aide quickly went off, and Leng Zirui led them into the range. Moments later, his aide brought the gear over.

While Leng Zirui was helping Luo Jun with the headphones, Xu Xia eagerly picked up a handgun, playing with it in her hands.

It was her first time handling a real gun. She appeared very excited.

”This is different from the gun you tried last time, but the principles are the same.” Leng Zirui patiently explained the handgun’s usage to Luo Jun, then inserted the magazine for him, ”Xiao Wu, look after Mo Mo.”

The aide immediately stepped forward, guiding Luo Jun on shooting, while Leng Zirui picked up the earphones from the stand, placing them on Xu Xia’s head. Seeing her excitement like a little girl, he took the magazine from her hands, holding the gun in her hand to load it.

”Here, let me teach you!”

”Do you need to teach me? Isn’t it just aligning the sights?!”

Xu Xia nonchalantly raised the gun, aiming and pulling the trigger.

Bam!

A gunshot rang out, but it wasn’t hers.

”Huh?!” Xu Xia looked at the gun in her hand confusedly, ”Why didn’t I feel a thing?”

”That was Mo Mo’s gunshot!” Leng Zirui said as he stepped forward, reaching to unlock the safety on her handgun, ”You didn’t even turn off the safety, and you want to shoot?!”
