After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 894: Chapter 898: The Game of Hide and Seek

”Are you crazy? That’s Leng Zimo!” The man driving frowned, ”I don’t want to mess with him.”

”Great risks bring great rewards; you can’t catch a wolf without sacrificing the child. These years, Luo Xiaoqian has been so low-profile, maybe staying home as a supportive wife and mother. Leng Zimo might be picking up his own child. If that’s true, this would be big news. We could sell the photos to foreign media and easily get six figures, in US Dollars!” The young man with the camera nudged his arm gently, ”Don’t you want to give it a try?!”

The man in the driver’s seat also hesitated, ”Can we do it?”

”Why not, at worst we just don’t get the shots, we won’t lose anything.”

”Alright!” The man driving gritted his teeth, ”Let’s give it a shot!”

These two were paparazzi from an entertainment newspaper. They came to the kindergarten intending to get news on Huangfu Ruo, but unexpectedly bumped into Leng Zimo.

Inside the school gate.

The parents continued to arrive to pick up their children, and Leng Zimo opened the car door and sat inside.

A moment later, Huangfu Ruo appeared, holding Qin Wanwan and Luo Jun’s hands, as the two little ones saw him, Leng Zimo immediately got out of the car to greet them.

The little ones saw him and ran over with smiles.

Qin Wanwan came running, stood on tiptoes, and gave him a kiss, ”Uncle Zimo, did you miss me?”

”Yes, Uncle came to see you and to take Mo Mo home.” Leng Zimo held Mo Mo’s little hand, stood up, ”Uncle will come to see you at home another day.”

He opened the car door, lifted Mo Mo into the car, settled in the front passenger seat, carefully adjusted his seatbelt, said goodbye to Huangfu Ruo and Qin Wanwan, and then sat in the driver’s seat.

Watching his car drive out, the paparazzi duo was anxious to the point of sweating because he continually kept his back to the camera, and with the parking lot full of cars and other parents fetching their kids, they couldn’t clearly see if he actually picked up a child.

”Drive!” Seeing the domestic sea blue Audi R8 drive out the gate, the paparazzi with the camera urgently shouted, ”Follow him!”

The man in the driver’s seat immediately started the car and pursued Leng Zimo’s car.

Inside the car.

”Mo Mo, did you miss Uncle Zimo?!” Leng Zimo asked while driving.

”Yeah, the school breakfast is awful.” Luo Jun complained from the back seat.

Leng Zimo chuckled, ”You’re missing Uncle Zimo’s cooking, right...”

Before he could finish, his eyes caught something unusual in the rearview mirror, a black car darting erratically through lanes. Having been in the industry for so long, he easily recognized it as paparazzi chasing.

”Damn it!”

Leng Zimo swore quietly.

He just happened to have the car at the company and thought to use it to pick up Mo Mo. The R8 is a sports car, not equipped with a child seat, and he planned to head straight home without incident, not expecting to encounter paparazzi pursuit.

If it were just him alone, he’d easily shake off the tail. But with Mo Mo in the car, a high-speed chase was far too dangerous.

”Is Uncle Zimo mad?” Luo Jun asked, puzzled.

”Mo Mo, don’t worry, Uncle’s not mad at you; it’s because there are bad people following us.” Leng Zimo glanced at the car behind, ”Now, we have to play a game of hide and seek with the bad guys. Do you want to play?!”

”Yeah!” The little one nodded excitedly.
