After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 852: Chapter 856: The Desire for a Kiss

They chatted naturally about work as they drove towards the villa in the suburbs.

Leng Zimo mentioned the film ”Tomorrow,” which her company scored, ”I like the music in that movie. Was it composed by someone from your company?”

”It was me,” Luo Xiaoqian replied with a smile.

She was happy that he appreciated her work.

”That’s great.” Leng Zimo smiled at her, ”I want to collaborate with you.”

”Collaborate?” Luo Xiaoqian was taken aback, ”On what?”

Leng Zimo focused on the road ahead and turned the car onto the suburban highway, ”I invite you to collaborate with me on the film score for ’Magic Realm 2.’

”Well...” Luo Xiaoqian hesitated, ”My company is quite busy right now. Of course, I love your movies and really hope to work with you, I’m just... afraid I might not have enough energy.”

Truthfully, she was 100% willing to work with him, but this wasn’t just any simple collaboration.

Things weren’t completely resolved yet, and if she appeared now, the media would immediately recognize her, and the situation could spiral out of control.

”You don’t have to answer right away. The movie won’t be completed until the second half of the year. You have plenty of time to think it over. Besides, I chose you because of your work, not so much because of who you are. What I mean is, work is work, do you understand?”

”I understand. You composed the music for ’Magic Realm 1,’ right?”

”Yes, do you like it?”

”I love the flute solo you did; the one the male lead plays under the moonlight. It’s beautiful and moving... And the flute part in ’Dragon and Snake,’ I love that too. It was adapted from ’Crazy Snake Dance,’ right? The key change at the end almost made me cry the first time I heard it... Simple, yet wonderful...”

Leng Zimo smiled. He had heard similar praise so many times, but hearing it from her... made him very happy.

She then talked about the music in ’Magic Realm’ and ’Dragon and Snake’ one by one, sharing her feelings with him.

Leng Zimo drove while listening intently.

The hour-long drive felt like just a moment to him.

As the car approached the villa where she lived, he was reluctant to press the brake.

”It’s so late, the little one must be asleep. I won’t go in.”

”I’m going.”

Luo Xiaoqian opened the car door and got out, though she still had many things she hadn’t said to him.

”Goodbye.” He held onto the steering wheel, watching her walk around the front of the car. At the steps, she stopped. He didn’t leave immediately but drove forward a bit, stopping in front of her, rolling down the window, ”I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow morning.”

”Mo Mo has a hiking activity tomorrow. I’ll prepare some sushi. You can come and join us for breakfast.” Luo Xiaoqian stood on the steps, looking at him. It was time to say goodnight, but she was reluctant, ”Drive safely, get some rest... Good night!”

Suppressing the urge to kiss him, she turned and headed towards the front door.

Leng Zimo watched her back, sighed, raised his hand to engage the handbrake, and then quickly got out of the car, striding towards her.

Hearing the footsteps, Luo Xiaoqian turned around in surprise, and in an instant, he pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly before his kiss landed on her lips.

...

...

Good night.
