After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 600: Chapter 604 A Slap in the Face [5]

”Zimo!” Luo Xiaoqian turned around, ”Don’t be nervous, I really didn’t mean to leave, I just forgot the thermos outside and wanted to bring it in.”

”The thermos?” Leng Zimo still held her and didn’t let go, ”You’re not lying to me?”

”Why would I lie to you!” Luo Xiaoqian withdrew her hand that was on the doorknob, ”Zimo, relax a little. I’m sure I heard some of your conversation earlier, but I didn’t plan to run away confused like last time. I will listen carefully to your explanation. I won’t go for the breakfast yet; I’ll listen to you explain first. Is that okay now?!”

”You really aren’t leaving?” Leng Zimo asked again.

”I’m not leaving!” She looked at his hand grasping her wrist, ”It hurts a bit, can you loosen up?”

”I’m sorry.” Leng Zimo slowly released her wrist, and looking at the marks left by his grip, his brow furrowed with heartache, he gently massaged her wrist and softly began, ”I was too tense just now. I was so worried that you would misunderstand me, and then run away like last time, and I would never find you again.”

”Big Fool.” Luo Xiaoqian turned in his arms and looked up at him, ”After that huge mix-up last time, how could I possibly make the same silly mistake again? Alright, let’s not worry about the thermos anymore. You talk, I’ll listen to your explanation.”

Looking into her clear eyes, Leng Zimo relaxed a little, ”There’s breakfast in the thermos?”

”Yeah, millet porridge, with buns and fried eggs. Since you worked overtime so late yesterday, I was afraid you’d make do with something random this morning, so I made a little something to bring to you.” Luo Xiaoqian shrugged, ”I wanted to surprise you, but accidentally overheard you talking with Sister Xu Pei.”

”Have you eaten yet?”

”Of course not, I wanted to eat with you.”

”You...” Leng Zimo affectionately touched her small face and pulled her to sit down by the sofa, ”Wait here, I’ll go and get it, you stay put and don’t move!”

”Okay.” Luo Xiaoqian agreed with a smile.

Leng Zimo opened the office door and stepped out, glancing outside and noticing the blue thermos on a table near the exit. He walked right over and brought the thermos back in.

Back in the office, Luo Xiaoqian was still seated as he had left her, at her spot. Approaching her side, Leng Zimo placed the thermos on the table and indeed saw two containers inside—one holding hot, well-cooked porridge and the other filled with buns and fried eggs, as well as two simple cold dishes.

”Now, can I move?” Luo Xiaoqian asked from the couch.

Leng Zimo lifted his gaze to her, his previously somber mood instantly brightening, and a natural smile appeared on his lips.

”Still not allowed.”

”Why not?” Luo Xiaoqian looked puzzled.

Leng Zimo gestured for her to wait a moment, quickly grabbed a tissue to clean up the coffee stains on the floor, and pulled over a chair to sit in front of her. He meticulously wiped his hands clean with the wet tissue, then lifted the bowl and spooned some porridge to her mouth, ”Because you’ve been very good, I’ve decided to feed you as a reward.”

Luo Xiaoqian stuck out her tongue playfully at him, making a face, and reached to take the porridge from his hands, ”I’m not a child. I can eat by myself.”

Leng Zimo held the spoon firm, ”I insist.”

”Fine!”

Luo Xiaoqian opened her mouth with a laugh and drank the porridge from his spoon, spoon by spoon he fed her half a bowl of porridge, Leng Zimo lifted his face, his gaze focused intently on her eyes.

”Xiao Qian, do you believe me?”
