After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 573: Chapter 577 Jealousy is a Double-Edged Sword! [2]

Huangfu Ruo burst into laughter and then jerked her chin at Leng Zimo, ”Did you hear that, Brother Zimo? You better learn from Qin Lan. Otherwise, watch out or someone might steal your wife. Wait for me, I’m going to change into the third outfit.”

”Wait a minute!” Qin Lan, noticing the high heels on her feet, immediately frowned and chased after her to support her arm, ”Why are you wearing such high shoes? Didn’t the doctor say you should wear flat shoes?”

”It’s just for trying on the wedding dress, I’ll take them off in a bit,” replied Huangfu Ruo.

”I’ll help you over there.” Qin Lan said considerately, guiding Huangfu Ruo toward the fitting room.

”Enough with your public display of affection; it’s making me feel envious!” Tong Ya tugged at Xu Pei’s arm. ”Now that her Flower Guardian has arrived, it’s time for us to make our exit!”

”Sister Tongya, don’t forget, Tomorrow you’re supposed to come to my place to teach me pregnancy yoga,” Huangfu Ruo reminded as she turned her head.

”Don’t worry, I won’t forget.” With a wave to the others, Tong Ya pulled Xu Pei along and headed downstairs.

A staff member stepped forward, ”Miss Luo, could you please try on another dress again?”

”Okay, Zimo, wait for me a little longer!” Luo Xiaoqian released Leng Zimo’s arm and followed the staff member back into the fitting room.

Downstairs.

Tong Ya opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat next to Xu Pei.

”There’s a nice tea house nearby; shall we go and relax for a bit?”

”I’d rather go back to the office,” Xu Pei said, unenthusiastic.

Tong Ya glanced at her expression. ”Xu Pei, tell me the truth, you like Zimo, don’t you?”

Xu Pei’s heart skipped a beat, and the car lurched violently. She had meant to shift into drive but accidentally shifted into reverse. Fortunately, she hit the brakes in time to avoid hitting the car parked behind them.

”What nonsense are you talking about? How could there be anything between Zimo and me?” she murmured, adjusting the gears properly and driving the car onto the road.

Tong Ya pursed her lips, ”You know, matters of the heart are really hard to explain. Sometimes, you can be with someone for five or ten years and feel nothing. Sometimes, you might meet someone randomly on the street and it’s love at first sight!”

Xu Pei frowned slightly and stopped the car at a red light. ”Love at first sight? Do you really believe that happens?”

”Isn’t that how it was with Zimo and Xiao Qian?” Tong Ya asked.

”Them?!” Xu Pei snorted softly. ”Doesn’t seem like it to me.”

Tong Ya detected the scorn in her tone. ”I know you might have some bias against Xiao Qian because you don’t understand her. From her first day at EM, I’ve been watching her. This girl is definitely not the type to curry favor.”

”Understand her?” Xu Pei turned to look at Tong Ya. ”Do you know when she and Zimo first met?”

”Of course.” Tong Ya smiled. ”It was during the rehearsal for the ’Huaxia Idol’ semifinals. I was the dance instructor. Xiao Qian was singing on stage and was then criticized by Leng Zimo for singing incorrectly. That girl had no fear; she actually dared to talk back to him. I was shocked at the time. As you know, when Zimo really gets angry, even gods and spirits would frown. Which one of us isn’t afraid of him? When Luo Xiaoqian withdrew from the competition and that guy chased after her worriedly, I knew he had fallen for that girl. If that isn’t love at first sight, what is? Fate is just that weird. When it comes, you can’t block it!”
