After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 558: Chapter 562 The Unique Birthday Gift【2】

On the table, her phone suddenly rang, signaling an incoming message.

”Hmph! Apologizing so soon?”

She assumed it was her boyfriend apologizing and picked up the phone with a smile, only to see a message from an unfamiliar number.

”If you want to make a comeback in the entertainment industry and be a big star again, do as I say!”

”Crazy.”

Muttering a curse, Su Jin tossed the phone back onto the table, took another cigarette, placed it between her lips, lit it with a lighter, and slowly exhaled a plume of smoke. Her gaze, through the haze of smoke, turned back to the phone on the table, and in the end, she picked it up and dialed the number that had sent the message.

But as soon as the call connected, the other party hung up.

A moment later, another message came through.

”There’s a brown paper bag at the entrance of your building downstairs. Take it home.”

After glancing at the message, Su Jin tossed the phone aside, ”Tch, trying to make me dance like a monkey, I don’t have time to play with you!”

Yawning, she got up, took a can of beer from the kitchen, and drank deeply.

Soon, the can was empty. She stuffed the finished cigarette into the beer can and casually grabbed a light jacket to put on over her pajamas, then picked up her keys from the table and went downstairs.

She looked around after stepping out of the elevator at the entrance and quickly spotted a brown paper bag by the steps. She glanced around suspiciously.

It was late at night and eerily quiet; no one was in sight.

After a moment’s hesitation, she quickly walked over, grabbed the paper bag from the ground, and turned to go back upstairs.

Back in her apartment, having carefully locked the door, Su Jin immediately opened the brown paper bag. She reached inside and pulled out a USB drive and a printed note.

The note was printed with a few simple lines.

”Keep the USB drive safe. When the time comes, I’ll instruct you on your next step. Don’t waste time trying to view the files. I’ve set a password, and you won’t be able to access them.”

Despite the note’s message, Su Jin decided to try anyway and went into her study to turn on her computer. As mentioned by the stranger, the files on the USB were indeed password-protected and prompted for a password upon opening.

Grabbing her phone again, she swiftly typed a message and sent it.

”Who are you?”

The reply came back quickly.

”Someone who wants to help you.”

After that, no matter what she asked, there was no response. Out of frustration, she tried calling, but the phone indicated that the other party had turned off their phone.

In the following days, Luo Xiaoqian became busier.

All ten songs on the album had been recorded, and they were now working on the final post-production tasks, while she also needed to shoot music videos for two of the album’s main theme songs.

To ensure they were as good as the singles, this music video shoot also required overseas locations. In addition, to promote the album, a new round of interviews had gradually started. Even though Leng Zimo had previously stated that she didn’t need to make money from commercial performances, some essential events still needed her attendance. Apart from shooting music videos, she had to keep up with scheduled appearances, flying back and forth almost daily.

Fortunately, with the experience from her last single, this time around, she adapted more quickly to filming music videos.

During downtime from shooting in Venice, she even took Yu Tong and Gao Jie with her to go shopping.

With Leng Zimo’s birthday fast approaching, she had been pondering what kind of gift to get him for the past few days.
