High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 786: Chapter 133 Debuff_1

”By the way, Xiao Xiao also invited the professors.”

”She asked Professor Old Yao, Professor Li, Professor Yi, Professor Emma, all of them received an invitation. But Xin Fat Man said, the professors have been busy recently, they even turned down many interviews from campus newspaper journalists. So chances are slim they’ll attend.”

”The teaching assistants shouldn’t be a problem... We also invited Thomas and Hilda, whom you should be quite familiar with.”

”I initially wanted to invite few old school workers to come, but they seem to be busier than the professors... You must know old Ferna who used to live in the Lakeside Cabin of Temporary Clock Lake, the one with the loud laughter and an old hunting dog named ’May’. When I started my night patrols with the patrol team, it was him who led the team. Some days ago, he seems to have been relocated by the school to somewhere else. Someone from the patrol team said they saw him acting as a ferryman on the Silent River. Not sure if that’s true.”

”I wanted to invite him too, but I tried several times and couldn’t find him... Even that old dog was missing.”

Engrossed in enumerating the various preparations for the grand opening of the Absolution hunting team’s new store, the young student on a scholarship seemed completely oblivious to whether the witch was interested in what he was saying.

After discussing the invited guests, Zheng Qing went on to describe to the witch his shop’s one-year plan, and its four-year long-term vision. He then began to compare and analyze his shop’s product positioning and advantages against other same types of products on the Pedestrian Street.

Throughout the whole process, Jiang Yu did not show any signs of impatience. She listened with a smile to the young male wizard’s talk, occasionally nodding her head and agreeing, which encouraged him to talk even more excitedly.

It was not until Zheng Qing’s throat became dry from talking that he reluctantly fell silent.

”Oh, time flies!” The witch lifted her hand, looked at the slender wrist watch, and her thin eyebrows spread out in surprise: ”It’s after nine already!”

As Zheng Qing took out two cans of hot tea from the Grey Cloth Bag, he handed one to the witch and casually leaned over to look at her wrist. Jiang Yu’s face blushed slightly, but she didn’t avoid it. She reached out and took the hot tea, but she didn’t drink it, just held the warm can in her hand.

”Right, time is flying! It’s been almost an hour since I left home...” Zheng Qing swallowed a sip of hot tea, smacked his lips, and instinctively glanced at the small building not far behind him.

Then he saw the figure of Doctor Du Zemu coming this way with his head down.

The old servant, Constantin, was holding Zheng Qing’s large carton and following the doctor step by step without any signs of impatience.

”Is the doctor done checking?” Zheng Qing, holding the hot tea, laughed and went up: ”How is it? Any problems? Anything that need to be noted?”

Doctor Du Zemu kept his head down as if he was lost in thought. It wasn’t until the young male wizard had kept on nagging for a long time that he finally woke up.

But he looked surprised at Jiang Yu and didn’t respond to the male wizard directly.

”Huh? You haven’t left yet?”

”Well, it is Saturday after all, and I don’t have much to do, no rush.” Jiang Yu tugged at the corner of her mouth and said vaguely.

Meanwhile, Zheng Qing had taken the little elves’ paper house from Constantin. Inside the house, the little elves who had been sleeping were now awake, huddled together, and curiously looking outside through the square windows of the paper house.

A few brave ones even dared to stretch their tiny arms out of the window, experiencing the bone-chilling wind outside.

Seeing their cheerful expressions, Zheng Qing’s mood inexplicably improved a lot.

Then he suddenly remembered something.

”Doctor, Doctor Duzem ?!” The young student on scholarship, holding the paper box, rushed to the doctor’s side and asked in a low voice: ”Doctor, we have opened a small shop on Pedestrian Street recently, and we will open next Saturday. I wonder if you would do us the honor of attending our grand opening.”

”You guys?” Dr. Du Zemu raised his eyebrows and his gaze swept over the only two young witches in the small courtyard. Apparently, he had misunderstood something.

”No no no, it’s not us two.” Zheng Qing immediately realized his mistake, his face reddened and he waved his hands, explaining: ”It’s our hunting team... During the freshman championships, few of us first-year wizards formed a new hunting team, and we secured the championship... We got some prize money. In addition to the hunting earnings, we accumulated a small amount of money.”

”Later, everyone discussed and decided to use this money to open a small shop on Pedestrian Street, partly acting as our team’s base, and partly to earn some extra income by hard work and frugality.”

”I’m not in their hunting team.” Jiang Yu added from the side: ”I feel that the coursework at Jiuyou Academy is already quite heavy, and I have other things to do after class...”

She seemed not to have finished her sentence, but the meaning she wanted to convey was already very clear.

Meanwhile, the young student on a scholarship asked Dr. Du Zemu again: ”Doctor, do you have time next Saturday?”

Dr. Du Zemu had a straight face, his mouth pulled down, looking a bit unhappy.

”Well, I have a lot of experiments to do here... Maybe not this time.” He said, seeking support from his old servant behind him.

But Constantin kept his head down, motionless, as if he didn’t feel the young master’s gaze at all.

Jiang Yu, standing behind Zheng Qing, carefully pulled his robe and gave him a look, while lip-syncing the words ”Silence Contract”.

The young student on scholarship was stunned, then suddenly remembered that Dr. Duzem seems to have been shelved by the school because of a certain incident and is currently in a ’semi-exile’ state, so naturally he can’t appear casually in public places. He also recalled that when Jiang Yu brought him here for the first time, she explained that since the Jiang family is currently financing Dr. Duzem, they can break the relevant silence clauses to a limited extent.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help sighing apologetically.

For a while, the courtyard fell into an unsettling silence.

Most witches are good at dispelling such a negative atmosphere, and Jiang Yu is no exception.

As if she had just discovered a new continent, she pointed to the paper house in Zheng Qing’s arms and exclaimed with surprise: ”Oh, they’re awake! I saw a little elf stick its arm out of the window!”

Zheng Qing lowered his head, just in time to see a small arm pulled back in, as if it was startled by the witch’s joyful shout.
