Chapter 779: Chapter 127: Fatty’s Guinea Pig_1

”Where’s my Guinea Pig?!”

”Has anyone seen my Guinea Pig?!”

Early on a Saturday morning, long before daylight, Xin Fat Man began scrambling around the house, causing chaos in his room, repeatedly letting out wails of despair.

The ’Guinea Pig’ he mentioned was a living alchemy rat made of plasticine-like material. It was only the size of a fist and its glass eyes weren’t particularly valuable. Ever since he had bought this alchemy product from a street vendor a few weeks ago, this little mouse had become an effective tool for communication between the fat man and the Fatty Cat.

Right now, Tuan Tuan was squinting, slumped at the window, refusing to acknowledge the Fat Man’s pleas for forgiveness. Earlier, when Xin Fat Man staggered back from the bathroom, he fell right onto his bed, seeming oblivious to the fact that another furry creature was also in deep sleep on his bed.

Consequently, Fat Man firmly squashed Fatty Cat’s tail. This woke the comfortable sleeping cat with a painful shriek who, instinctively, clawed the Fat Man in return.

Left confused by the sudden attack, the Fat Man rose to his feet in anger. Without even opening his eyes, he put out his palm, pushing Fatty Cat and causing her to roll off the bed.

Tuan Tuan, after sobering up, although a bit ruffled, knew better than to argue with the grumpy Fat Man- ”Revenge is a dish best served cold”, right? After seeing the Fat Man fall back to sleep, it quietly returned to bed. With agile paws, it undid the watch on Fat Man’s wrist.

The Fat Man’s watch was similar to Zheng Qing’s grey cloth bag, both were space equipment. While Zheng Qing’s grey cloth bag was very traditional and old; the Fat Man’s watch was the newest type of space equipment, with a larger space and an additional light curtain catalogue.

Not only did the watch store Xin Fat Man’s homework, textbooks, stationery and other educational materials, but it also held a variety of experimental objects such as crucibles, test tubes and tweezers. Of course, the most abundant items that occupied the most space were various kinds of snacks.

These included all sorts of bulk roasted goods, dried fruits, ready-made meats, whole roasted chicken, and roasted duck, as well as buckets of beer, vintage wines, and carbonated drinks purchased in the commoner’s world.

One might say that as long as he had his watch, the Fat Man could sustain an extended wilderness life without running short of supplies.

But now, that watch had been snatched by the Cat.

When he got up in the morning, the Fat Man instinctively reached for his wrist, planning to grab an iced beer to freshen himself, only to find nothing. On realization, he searched through his bed but couldn’t find his watch except for a few cat hairs.

Then he saw the Fatty Cat strolling triumphantly by the window.

Tuan Tuan’s tail stood erect, and on the base of her tail hung a large watch strap. The shiny watch face attached to Fatty Cat’s backside left Fat Man pale-faced.

The watch on display right there was the one which the Fat Man himself had been seeking desperately.

When Zheng Qing and Xiao Xiao returned from their morning routine, they witnessed a scene of the Fat Man rummaging around for any possible toys, food, gifts, etc., Anything that might coax Fatty Cat into returning his watch.

However, most of the toys and food that he usually used to bribe Fatty Cat had been shoved into his watch, and there was hardly anything left in the dorm. Among them, the ’Guinea Pig’ was Fatty Cat’s favourite.

”Has anyone seen my Guinea Pig?!” Upon seeing the two young mages returning from their morning exercise, the Fat Man rushed over to them, crying in desperation: ”My watch! My watch!!”

”Slow down, slow down!” Xiao Xiao raised his arms high and warned loudly, ”I’m holding your breakfast! If you don’t mind adding some snot to your porridge, go ahead and keep running ...”

The warning was timely and efficient.

Xin Fat Man hesitated for a moment, holding onto Xiao Xiao’s clothes, then turned to look at Zheng Qing.

The young student smiled and offered him a bag, saying: ”How about some doughnut sticks, sesame seed cakes, pan-fried dumplings, or small steamed buns to fill your stomach first? ”

That finally managed to calm the Fat Man down.

”My Guinea Pig... my watch!” He took the paper bag from Zheng Qing’s hand, grabbed a small bun with his chopsticks, and ate it in a single bite. After eating each one, he’d mutter: ”I know that Tuan Tuan has a bad temper, but I never thought it would be this bad... it stole my watch while I was asleep... I may have a slight chance to get my watch back if I find the Guinea Pig... has anyone seen my Guinea Pig?”

Zheng Qing hung his head in silence.

He actually knew where the alchemy rat was, but he was hesitating whether to tell the Fat Man- the day before yesterday, on Thursday night, when he had returned to the dormitory in the form of a black cat, he came in with more than just rage, he had bird droppings on him too.

And all thanks to a certain clothed rat.

Just as the black cat was seething with rage, a grey rat- the very Guinea Pig the Fat Man was running about looking for- suddenly ran past him. Without a doubt, it was met with a powerful slap from the infuriated black cat.

Zheng Qing clearly remembered the feeling when he smacked the head off the rat with his paw- the Guinea Pig was mainly made of a rubber-like substance, so it felt sticky and did not give a sense of satisfying revenge.

The smart black cat made use of the moment when Xin Fat Man hadn’t returned to the dormitory and swept the dissected alchemy rat into a nook between the desk and the bed, then silently returned to its bed.

”... everything was an accident, I absolutely didn’t do it intentionally, ”The Fat man’s mouth corner was dripping with oil, one hand holding a cup of soy milk, another one holding a donut, he mumbled: ”I was asleep and didn’t notice there was a cat on the bed... You all know, once I fall asleep, I’m just like a dead pig, totally unaware...”

”This description is pretty accurate.” Zheng Qing muttered softly.

Xin Fat Man bit into his donut fiercely, and glared at the young student.

Zheng Qing immediately offered a small dish of pickled vegetables with a smile, repeatedly saying, ”Have some vegetables, don’t eat so fast... eat slowly...”
