High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 93: Chapter 17 Aftermath_1

In the blink of an eye, it was almost the first week of the semester.

With the shocking events that happened during the first Symbol Seal class widely circulated, the few stories about Zheng Qing had been unearthed by the school’s gossip organization.

Suppressed the demon pig in Four Seasons Pavilion!

Fought against a demon on a private plane!

The public funded student at Jiuyou Academy!

A freshman who is proficient in all basic runes!

As the gossip got more and more, the versions of these stories were getting more and more bizarre.

For example, in the rumor, the demon pig in the Great Ming Pavilion was half-dead by his Thunder Curse; in the gossip, he defeated the female demon on the flight and saved a group of elves; he even supposedly inherited his miraculous rune artistry from the mysterious Kunlun World.

The rumors took Zheng Qing completely by surprise.

Even when he repeatedly explained to others that he did not know Thunder Curse, had not suppressed a pig demon, and he was nearly scared to pee by the she-demon on the plane.

But no one listened to his explanations.

Those excited university students took his plentiful explanations as modesty, or weird hobbies.

The exaggerating rumors’ one effect that satisfied Zheng Qing was the impression they left on Li Meng.

Perhaps terrified by the rumored Thunder Curse and Suppression Symbols, the little girl no longer mentioned the duel between her cousin and Zheng Qing.

What’s slightly excessive is, Li Meng doesn’t even talk to Zheng Qing anymore.

Every time a few boys approached her, the little girl would snort and leave stomping in her leather shoes.

This left the boys somewhat helpless.

Zheng Qing’s worries were not only this.

Every day on the way to class, a constant stream of strangers rushed to his side to introduce themselves. Small cards with a girl’s scent often mysteriously appeared on the seat.

A large number of invitation letters that followed almost filled his dormitory drawer to the brim.

In addition to professional clubs like the ’Symbol Seal Association’ and ’Gold Jade Symbol Seal’, there were also unique Jiuyou Academy clubs like the ’Examiners Alliance’ and the ’53 Simulation’. Even other schools, resembling Starry Sky Academy’s ’Unlimited Combat Competition’, Atlas Academy’s ’Glory of the Lord’ and ’Release Mysterious’, Alpha Academy’s ’Advanced Club’ etc., all sent invitation letters to Zheng Qing.

Approximately calculating, this stack of invitation letters could be exchanged for nearly ten credit hours with Professor Yao!

It shouldn’t be this easy to get credit hours!

”The key is, what do these clubs want me for?” Zheng Qing, with a tortured face, pulled out the ’Unlimited Combat Competition’ invitation and threw it on the table, ”Do I look like I can fight?”

”If you two don’t stop showing off, I’ll calm down, transform, and measure your combat abilities.” Xin Fat Man, with that fat cat named Tuan Tuan covering his face, roared in pain.

The threat of the Blue Giant was quite effective.

Although Zheng Qing was very curious to see Xin Fat Man’s transformation after calming down, he still obediently swept the invitation back into the drawer.

These things were really stimulating to the Fat Man.

In the whole dormitory, Xin got the least invitations.

Similar to Zheng Qing, Xiao Xiao also received dozens of letters.

Even the werewolf who liked to stay in the coffin got four or five.

In comparison, Xin only got one invitation letter from the ’Freaks’ club.

This made the Fat Man’s inner balance severely off.

”Why didn’t the school’s Pharmacist’s Association invite me when my high school alchemy transcript was so good!” The Fat Man rubbed the lying fat cat on his face, speaking with a muffled voice.

”Normally, only freshman who have filled in an application, after a qualification evaluation, will receive invitation letters issued by student organizations. These proactively sent ones should be targeted towards star students.” Xiao Xiao held an invitation letter from the ’Star Signs Association’, frowning, ”The key is, I’m not any famous person! Why am I receiving such preferential treatment?”

”Perhaps because you’re a special admission student?” Xin Fat Man pried Tuan Tuan off his face, maliciously speculating: ”Some students know that your family is a hidden tycoon, so they are making a friendly investment!”

”If you can consider me a tycoon for not having changed new clothes in three years, I might consider your speculation.” Xiao Xiao rolled up her sleeve expressionlessly, revealing her worn-out shirt.

”Or maybe they sent it to the wrong person.” Fat Man continued to speculate with the utmost malice while stroking Fat Cat.

”It’s understandable if one or two got it wrong, but if all these student societies don’t use their brains, the top university is doomed.” Dylan’s head popped out of the red curtains, jeering.

”Unless we count that fight.” Zheng Qing had a premonition that his most troubling situation hadn’t come yet.

Indeed, no matter what, the gossip about several Jiuyou freshmen spread too fast in the school.

As if there was a dedicated team guiding behind the scenes.

Of course, he could never imagine that the gossip spreading on campus was spread by some people for their own dignity.

...

...

Arthur Ness is a second-year veteran of Alpha Academy. He comes from an ancient wizard family in Europa, possesses a superior bloodline that Alpha Academy values greatly, and has a good understanding of potions and ancient magic texts.

These advantages made him quite favored by some large societies in Alpha Academy. In his first year, he received nearly ten society invitations.

Among them is one of the two major societies in the top university, Alpha’s strongest student organization - Blood Comrades.

After nearly a year of observation, at the end of his freshman year, Arthur finally gained the acceptance of Blood Comrades, transitioning from an external member to a formal functionary.

This was a huge motivation for the young wizard.

Throughout the summer vacation, he was in a state of extreme excitement and narcissism.

This mood peaked when the ’Blood Comrades’ handed him his first society mission.

The mission was very simple.

Invite the youngest inductee of the top university in nearly a century to join the ’Blood Comrades’.

However, Arthur had no good feelings for the little boy named Lin Guo.

No family, no background, only a bit of extraordinary talent, and he could get the ’Blood Comrades’ invitation letter!

This was undoubtedly a great insult to Mr. Ness, who had struggled to become a common functionary of the ’Blood Comrades’.

Luckily, he had other options.

Arthur Ness, touching the two letters in his pocket, made up his mind.

The two letters in his pocket were from ’Blood Comrades’ and ’3A’ Society.

The school’s Club Union does not limit the number of clubs a student can join. Many students join multiple student societies at the same time.

Although Mr. Ness is just an ordinary functionary in ’Blood Comrades’, he is already a middle-level cadre in another society of Alpha Academy -- 3A.

3A and Blood Comrades extended an olive branch to Lin Guo at the same time.

As a messenger, Mr. Ness believed he had every right to decide which branch to hand to the little boy.

He decided to pull out the 3A Society’s invitation letter first.

Then he was rejected.

Lin Guo’s rejection caught him off guard.

Although he didn’t like the little boy’s unimpeded entry into ’Blood Comrades’, he even less tolerated the little boy’s silly and idiotic expression!

Does he have the right to refuse?

Mr. Ness’s anger had not subsided when he was doused with a bucket of gasoline.
