53 -53: Screaming in Shock_1

“So, you’re saying that the airline made you sign a nondisclosure agreement, and the condition was for you to receive these little spirits?” Li Meng, holding the little fox and resting her pigeon, grumbled into Zheng Qing’s ear, “This isn’t fair!

The small spirits were never theirs to begin with.”

Zheng Qing, holding a large box, was silent.

Among all the newcomers, he had the most comprehensive understanding of this incident.

Whether it was the lost flight attendants or the words said by the succubus, there were too many sensitive issues that the airline didn’t want the public to know right away.

“It’s fair, these small spirits were originally part of the physical evidence.” Xiao Xiao, dragging Li Meng’s pink carry-on luggage suitcase on behalf of her, patiently explained on the side, “You can’t simply break some rules without a price.”

Zheng Qing nodded.

He had no concept of this confidentiality agreement, nor was he interested in it.

He came to study and didn’t want to get involved in any trouble.

Now, the only thing he was worried about was these little spirits.

He had no idea how long they could survive without their potion.

The large cardboard box in his arms was a gift from the flight attendants.

They lined the box with sawdust, put some flannel inside, and even fastened safety belts, assisting him to settle those exhausted little spirits in the box.

The small spirits had their bloodstains cleaned and were buckled in their seat belts, crowded together, embracing each other, silently sleeping.

The faint emerald light flickered with their subtle breathing, illuminating a few pieces of unactivated talisman paper stuck on the interior walls of the box.

These little guys needed rest desperately.

Initially, the flight attendants planned to give them some sedatives, but Zheng Qing kindly refused.

Every drug has side effects, just as Xiao Xiao said, you can’t break certain rules without bearing the cost.

Compared with those medicines, Zheng Qing had more faith in his talisman paper.

“I still think your choice is a bit arbitrary.” As the team was moving slowly, Xiao Xiao, walking in front, stopped, turned back, and glanced at the box, “After that stimulation, what you need is cathartic venting, not overflowing sympathy to adopt these little spirits.”

Both newcomers and veterans crowded together since there was only one exit, moving at an infuriatingly slow pace.

Poseidon, popping out from Li Meng’s arm, stepped on her shoulder, and stuck his head into the big box Zheng Qing was holding, his tongue out.

“This choice is not about being kind.

I see them as equals, just like us.” Zheng Qing scratched Poseidon’s chin, pushed his head out of the box, fearing that he might accidentally hurt the small spirits.

“All life is worthy of respect.” Li Meng nodded approvingly on the side.

“Equality above all, a typical Jiuyou concept.” Xiao Xiao snorted, “Think further.

Don’t be so headstrong.”

“My brain is small, and the circuit is too short for me to think that far.” Li Meng replied righteously on the side.

Zheng Qing couldn’t help but laugh.

Listening to their banter, his mood finally improved a bit.

“Do we have to wear these clothes every day?” Shaking the wide sleeve of his red gown, Zheng Qing changed the topic.

As far as he could see, there were these loose gowns everywhere – worn by both newcomers and veterans.

However, the veterans’ robe sleeves and collars had added black trims.

“I’m not sure about other times, but we must wear it today.” Xiao Xiao spoke, waved, and dragged the pink suitcase through a carved small door.

The word ‘exit’ was written on the door.

On both sides of the door stood a flight attendant, smiling to maintain order.

Across the queue, a veteran followed Xiao Xiao immediately through the door.

Then it was Zheng Qing’s turn.

“Hold the box tightly.” A flight attendant reminded him with a smile.

Another flight attendant and a few veterans coughed several times.

Zheng Qing, puzzled, walked out of the cabin.

The sight before him suddenly opened up.

A vast white foggy world appeared before his eyes.

There was heavy fog everywhere, the black mat underneath his feet was wet with dew, making squeaky sounds when stepped upon, which sounded like Poseidon’s cry.

Zheng Qing turned around to see the little fox had already wriggled into Li Meng’s gown, with only its tiny head sticking out.

He reached out, touching the thick fog, a stream of coldness sliding across his hand, exhilarating his spirit and lifting his previously gloomy mood heavily.

The plane could land in this kind of weather!

Zheng Qing couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

The cold air entered his warm lungs through his nose, causing him to shiver involuntarily.

“Keep up, don’t fall behind.”

Xiao Xiao’s figure had already disappeared into the thick fog, and Zheng Qing could only see the senior student as he decamped into the fog-veiled world.

He took a slow breath, clutched the cardboard box in his arms a little tighter, and then jogged to catch up.

In a strange place, following others should always be right.

He remembered the advice Pan Lv Er had given him in Hui Zi Ji.

Did he hear screams in the thick fog?

Zheng Qing saw the senior student in front of him turned his head, revealing a sinister smile.

It felt a bit like schadenfreude.

Before he could react, one of his steps found only air.

Caught off balance, Zheng Qing tumbled headlong into the thick fog.

He opened his mouth, but before a scream could escape, a rush of wind mercilessly forced its way down his throat, nearly suffocating him.

His eyes stung from the gushing winds.

Zheng Qing closed his mouth, but didn’t dare to close his eyes.

The cold wind wrapped around his rapidly falling body.

His large school robe fluttered noisily in the wind.

In the distance, he could faintly hear Li Meng’s scream.

He held the cardboard box tightly in one hand and reached into his pocket with the other, pulling out a few talisman papers.

A gust of wind blew by, instantly carrying off the talisman papers in his hand into the unknown.

He was tricked!

The plane didn’t land; it was still in the sky!

So this is what it feels like to be falling from the sky!

Zheng Qing’s mind was filled with countless thoughts that quickly merged into chaos.

His mind went blank.

Many people do not fear death, but everyone is afraid of emptiness and helplessness.

During the fall from high altitude, Zheng Qing experienced what felt like emptiness and helplessness.

His struggling limbs found no solid foothold, the wind whistled past his ears, his sharp mind seemed to pause at that moment, utterly helpless.

So real and terrifying.

So utterly despairing.

Li Meng’s screams seemed to still echo in his ears.

Zheng Qing tried to look up, but all he saw was the thick fog obscuring everything around him.

He could faintly hear the sound of distant laughter and screams.

Below the thick fog was a deep blue sea.

An oval island was lush with life, like an emerald embedded in the deep blue.

Looking up, fluffy white clouds lazily flowed and morphed not too far off above his head.

Seagulls and geese laughed and flew past him.

A soft force appeared beneath Zheng Qing, slowing his descent.

This gentle power wrapped around him like a giant cotton ball, warm and comforting.

Zheng Qing looked down and noticed a broad band of white light tied around his waist.

The belt of light guided him, gently lowering him onto the island.

Until his feet touched solid ground, Zheng Qing’s mind remained in a state of confused blankness, unable to recall anything.

The cardboard box he held in his arms was slightly crushed; the little elves inside were still soundly asleep.

The safety belts secured them firmly in the box.

His legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the ground.

His eyes were filled with tears brought on by the raging wind, blurring his vision.

He rolled up his sleeve and wiped his face.

The world seemed to become a lot clearer.

Blue sky, white clouds, sea.

And the new students sprawled out on the sandy beach.

Zheng Qing saw Blue Bird’s disheveled hair and Xiao Xiao’s crooked glasses, and he could not help but burst into laughter.

It was only at that moment that he realized his whole body was shaking uncontrollably.
