High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 87: Chapter 11 After Class_1

”A few brave lads, before class officially starts, got into a brawl with students from our brother academy on Beta Town Pedestrian Street, caught by the patrol squad on the spot. What an honor! Never before has a freshman received such treatment!”

”You should write a letter home, telling them about your heroic deeds!”

Professor Yao waved his arms from the podium.

Zhang Ji Xin lowered his head and let out a strange whine.

Next to him, Xiao Xiao whispered thankfully, ”Fortunately, no warning has been issued.”

Zheng Qing turned pale and reread the notice.

On the pedestrian street in Beta Town, that chubby Professor An happened to mention to a few freshmen that they would receive a third-level warning from the school — a sign of additional academic pressure.

But this official punishment notice did not mention anything about a third-level warning.

A bit of color returned to Zheng Qing’s pale face.

His fragile heart could not endure further agony.

”Three freshmen from Jiuyou Academy, one freshman from Alpha, and one from Starry Sky Academy. Five newcomers, who never stepped foot in a classroom, daring enough to throw punches at four Alpha veterans!”

Professor Yao, clutching his pipe, raised his voice:

”Complete recklessness! Do you know how lucky you are?”

”There were others,” Zhang Ji Xin mumbled.

”What did you say?” Sensing the discontent, Professor Yao pointed at the young man with the flushed face.

Zheng Qing tugged at Zhang Ji Xin’s sleeve, trying to calm him down.

But, this hot-tempered redhead stood up without hesitation.

”I mean, we five newcomers weren’t the only ones there,” Zhang Ji Xin, throwing off Zheng Qing’s hold, spoke loudly, ”There was also an exchange student, a few veterans from Starry Sky Academy. There were also some dark horses; we didn’t see who they were.”

”So, is that the reason you started the fight?” Yao raised a brow, counter-questioning.

”No.” Zhang Ji Xin’s head sank back down and he mumbled, ”No, it is not.”

”What about you two? Do you have any opinions you would like to express?” Professor Yao turned his gaze towards Zheng Qing and Xiao Xiao.

Zheng Qing opened his mouth, tongues rigid, as cold sweat poured down his back.

Xiao Xiao, sitting silently next to him, got up without a word, examining the notebook in front of him.

”Professor, I... I can explain this!” Zheng Qing stood up hastily, almost knocking down his stool.

”No no no, I don’t need any explanations.” Yao swung his pipe, looking down at the young men: ”You don’t need to either. I just need the performance you showed to the patrol squad.”

”Professor An mentioned this morning that for a long time Jiuyou Academy hadn’t seen students dare to break the rules. Now that you’ve dared to challenge some injustices, you should bring about real results to convince others!”

Zheng Qing, at a loss, obeyed Yao’s gesture and took a seat widely confused.

Xiao Xiao and Zhang Ji Xin quietly returned to their seats as well.

”You need to follow the arrangements of the school’s work committee, complete the tasks assigned. At the end of the term, the school work committee will grade everyone. I need to see quality assessments signed by them for you; otherwise, I will forget what I just said.”

As Yao continued speaking, he flipped through his lecture notes:

”This Friday after class, go to the office of the school work committee for arrangements. Remember, don’t be late!”

Zheng Qing nodded in agreement, letting out a sigh as if a heavy rock in his heart has settled down.

”This is the first time we’ve sat together since school started, and we’ll have more opportunities like this, quite frequently. According to tradition, I announce that every weekend at seven in the evening is our class meeting time, everyone must attend, no exceptions.”

As Yao pulled a bag of tobacco from his pocket, he filled his pipe and continued:

”There’s quite a bit the first week, but I will be waiting for your weekly life reports this weekend at seven.”

The classroom was filled with a great lament.

”Oh, right, there’s one more thing.”

Just as he was about to leave, Professor Yao paused, blowing out a plume of smoke, and looked back at the restless freshmen:

”Due to known reasons, the opening ceremony will be postponed. It will most likely be rescheduled to the end of this month or early next month. The specific date is yet to be decided, but it will definitely be before the school hunting party.”

”This doesn’t really concern you, it’s enough that you all know.”

With those words, Yao left the classroom, disappearing into the quiet corridor.

...

The classroom remained silent for a few seconds before it exploded into a tumult similar to a bustling market.

Everyone was excitedly discussing something.

The conflict on the pedestrian street.

The selection of class monitor and class chief.

The scholarship students.

The accident on the private jet.

Even the disheartening gossip news about Su Shijun.

This issue seemed to have been pressuring Xin Fat Man until the end of class when he finally had the chance to vent.

”The goddess must’ve been coerced!” Fat Man shook his chubby cheeks, glaring with his tiny eyes roaring fiercely: ”If I knew who the man was, I...”

”What would you do?” Xiao Xiao looked askance at him, mocking.

Xin Fat Man was immediately silenced.

After all, men who could capture the heart of Su Shijun — a beauty of the wizard world, would undoubtedly be powerful, probably even more so than the Wolfman Prince Tabbot or the Blood Race Duke Milton.

Disheartened, Fat Man dropped his raised fist.

Zheng Qing from the side caught his dropped fist:

”Cover me from that little girl!”

While Fat man was frustrated with the news of his goddess Su Shijun having a child, Zheng Qing’s gaze tightly followed a few girls in front.

After class, a group of girls huddled around Liu Fei Fei, complimenting Jiuyou Academy’s new class chief, praising her for bringing honor to the girls.

Li Meng sat with Liu Fei Fei, laughing and chatting with the group of girls.

After quite some discussion, the topic shifted from one scholarship student to another.

The girls’ curious eyes turned towards Zheng Qing in the back row.

Li Meng seemed to have finally recalled something, jumped back onto the podium.

”Zheng Qing!” She pointed assertively at the boy at the back of the class and hollered: ”You wait and see!”

Jiang Yu, standing next to her, helplessly pulled Miss Li down from the podium.

Zheng Qing, white in the face, looked to Xin Fat Man: ”Cover me from that little girl, I’ll get you into Su Shijun’s meet-and-greet!”

His mind was whirling, he didn’t know what he was saying.

But for Xin Fat Man, a promise from a scholarship student was exceptionally precious.

”You can count on me!” Xin Fat Man flashed his bright teeth, turned to look at the girls in front.

Li Meng had just escaped the girl’s circle and was furiously marching towards the back row.

”Meng Girl! Let’s get to know each other! I am Blue Giant Xin! You can call me Lan Xin ~” Xin Fat Man, with a sleazy expression, got closer.

”Pervert!!” Li Meng screamed, darting behind Jiang Yu.

Zheng Qing took the opportunity to slip away from the crowd and out the back of the classroom.
