Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 393: Chapter 212: Did You Ask Me Out, or Did I Ask You Out?

”Don’t overthink it, what could I possibly be thinking?” Lawrence Winters chuckled, glancing at him with a shrug, ”I still need to draft work plans for Joey! If I don’t turn him into a top-notch star, how am I going to make money!”

Lawrence Winters’ eyes were darker than most, like black velvet wrapped in a layer of sparkling amber.

Edward Foster felt as if he was being drawn into her gaze, but when he looked again, Lawrence had already lowered her head and started looking at her computer.

...

At the same moment, Cameron Spencer’s phone received a text with a link from abroad.

It was a news link reporting that the renowned ”Father of Artificial Intelligence,” Thomas Stewart, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a pillar while passing an overpass, dying on the spot, along with his eleven-year-old son.

Cameron Spencer read the news, his gaze cooling, a mocking smile playing at his lips as he murmured, ”...Indeed, every injustice has its perpetrator. There’s no rush; when the time comes, it will be repaid.”

He turned off the phone and called for his secretary. Accompanied by his third wife, Hazel Winchester, he drove to Justus Spencer’s tombstone, placed a white rose at the site and murmured, ”Justus, if you are watching over us, seek out the person who wronged you. I have already sent him to join you.”

...

The news of Thomas Stewart’s death didn’t make international headlines and only occupied a small corner of a local newspaper.

However, given his status, it caused a huge stir in the field of artificial intelligence.

Kenneth Osborne was surprised as he looked at the link sent by a colleague from abroad.

Due to Joyce Shaw, Kenneth no longer held his past reverence for Thomas, but seeing his sudden demise was still somewhat shocking.

He couldn’t resist calling Francis Johnson and said, ”Francis, did you know that Thomas suddenly died in a car accident?”

Francis Johnson was no longer doing his previous work, so he wasn’t very familiar with such matters.

However, he had been following Thomas’ affairs all along.

”Really? He’s dead? I haven’t seen the news report yet,” Francis replied cautiously.

After the call with Kenneth Osborne, Francis reached out to Richard Shadow to inquire about more details.

Richard Shadow was still working in his original department and had more sources of information.

”Mate, do you know about the ’Father of Artificial Intelligence,’ Thomas?” Francis called Richard, intending to get some insider details.

With his current position, there were many things Francis wasn’t supposed to know, but Thomas’ matter was different, and since Francis was keeping tabs on this lead, it was within the rules to inform him.

Richard Shadow had just received the information. Looking at the documents from abroad, he clicked his tongue, ”... Those overseas mafia guys are more ruthless than us. Look at their work; they even kill children.”

Their department operated without involving innocent family members of their target.

But others didn’t have such principles in their actions.

Francis chuckled, ”Are you sure it’s Thomas himself?”

”Confirmed. Our people obtained a blood sample from the police and did a DNA test; the identification is accurate.”

”Thanks, mate!”

Richard Shadow laughed heartily and said, ”We honestly didn’t do anything; we’re just watching the drama unfold.”

Francis nodded, ”I understand, this is the enmity between the Spencer family and Thomas, and since it happened abroad, it’s unrelated to us, and we didn’t intervene.”

Although he said this, Francis knew well that Christopher Mason’s skills had reached a point where his strategies were deeply concealed and hard to trace.

Thomas coveted the domestic national grid and sent people to repeatedly assassinate domestic citizens. How could they let him go unpunished?

However, the Spencer family being ruthless enough to not even spare an eleven-year-old child was beyond their expectation.

Of course, from the Spencer family’s perspective, it was merely an eye for an eye.

Because Justus Spencer also had an unborn child killed by Thomas’ men.

Speaking of children, Francis thought of Joyce Shaw’s posthumous child.

He’d been busy lately, and it had been a while since he last saw the Madwoman and Grandma Shaw.

The Madwoman’s parents seemed to have accepted reality and were now living together harmoniously with the Madwoman and Grandma Shaw.

Francis didn’t visit them but made a phone call to the obstetrician in charge of the Madwoman’s pregnancy to inquire about the baby’s condition.
