Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 352: Chapter 192: He Has Someone Backing Him

Although Thomas repeatedly assured him that Joyce Shaw’s two colleagues were dead, there were still those who had gone to trouble Joyce Shaw’s grandmother.

These people were also a hidden worry.

He thought about it while replying to Summer Spencer, saying: Summer, where’s your mother? Where has she been recently?

Summer Spencer answered: She’s at home in the Southern Region.

Justus Spencer chatted with her for a few more sentences before calling Summer Spencer’s mother, Hazel Winchester.

”Aunt Three, I have something I would like your help with,” Justus Spencer found a secluded spot to call Hazel Winchester.

Justus Spencer grew up with Hazel Winchester, and they had a very good relationship.

Hazel Winchester quickly said, ”Just say the word, as long as I can help, I definitely will.”

Justus Spencer forced a smile and said, ”It’s like this, I have a few friends who want to go abroad, but they have some identity issues and can’t get a visa or buy a ticket, so I was hoping you could help out.”

Hazel Winchester immediately said, ”I can’t help with that! What do you think I am, Second Wife Ava Harlow?”

The ”Second Wife” she referred to is Ava Harlow.

Justus Spencer said quickly, ”It’s precisely because you have a good relationship with the Second Wife that I’m asking for your help. You know how my relationship with her is, she definitely won’t pay attention to me if I ask her. Only you and I can know about this, not even Summer, and definitely not Spring Spencer.”

Because Justus Spencer considers Spring Spencer his biggest rival, Hazel Winchester knows this too.

It was clear this wasn’t a matter to be proud of; what kind of people go abroad without legal documentation? — The answer was evident.

If Spring Spencer found out Justus Spencer was involved, he’d definitely go and badmouth him to Cameron Spencer, and Justus’s position as heir might be at risk...

If Justus loses his place as heir, and Spring Spencer takes over, then both Hazel Winchester and Summer Spencer would surely be expelled from the Spencer Family.

Hazel Winchester immediately understood the implications and quickly said, ”You want me to approach the Second Wife and say those people are my friends, and ask for her help to get them out of the country?”

”Exactly! Aunt Three, you’re so smart, it’s a relief talking to someone clever.” Justus Spencer obviously felt relieved, his whole demeanor relaxed a lot.

”Alright, I’ll go and ask the Second Wife. However, I’m telling you upfront, I can’t guarantee success, and I’ll owe her a favor, which is something I hate...” Hazel Winchester said with a chuckle, as she skewered a piece of cut honeydew melon with a toothpick and put it in her mouth.

Justus Spencer knew what she meant and quickly said, ”I heard from Summer recently that your car needs replacing and your birthday is coming up. I’ll gift you a Ferrari sports car, wishing you happiness as vast as the Eastern Sea and longevity as enduring as the Southern Mountains!”

He continued, ”If any additional fees are required by the Second Wife, I’ll transfer them to you.”

”Why are you being so polite with Aunt Three?” Hazel Winchester felt a surge of joy, feigned a brief refusal, and then said, ”Alright, since it’s out of your filial piety, I’ll help you with this. Rest assured, I won’t let anyone know.”

With such a generous gift, there’s no way Hazel Winchester wouldn’t keep it a secret for him.

And as long as the people are sent out of the country, it doesn’t matter if others find out afterward.

Justus Spencer hung up Hazel Winchester’s call and then called Thomas, saying, ”Thomas, how are things on your end? That Joyce Shaw’s grandmother is still stirring up trouble online, refusing to be quiet.”

Thomas chuckled and said, ”It’s all good now, it’s all good. The computers the police took from us have been returned. I think your country’s police are quite ordinary, just going through the motions.”

Justus Spencer felt a surge of joy, ”Really? Then is the company also unsealed?”

”Yes, I’m sitting in my office talking to you,” Thomas said cheerfully while searching through Joyce Shaw’s computer.

It turned out her computer had quite a lot of stuff, almost untouched.

Thomas hurriedly downloaded, completely unaware that the contents had been ”restored intact” by someone and loaded with a Trojan program.

Justus Spencer laughed heartily, ”That’s great. Oh, there’s one more thing I wanted to tell you. Wayford Intelligence’s asking price is too high, so I’m planning to abandon the acquisition. I’m about to go to a board meeting. Could you give me another company name for persuading them to target?”

Thomas’s finger paused on the mouse, furrowing his brow, ”But other companies don’t have as good a client base as Wayford Intelligence, nor do they have its high AI technology content. If you choose another company, I’m telling you now, it’s best not to waste money, just focus on independent research and development, and in five or ten years, you’ll definitely profit!”

”Five or ten years! No way! That’s too long!” Justus Spencer flatly refuted, angrily tugging at his tie, ”Is there really no other company? But Wayford Intelligence now jacked up the price because AI Vision Promise intervened, asking me for 2.5 billion!”

Thomas chuckled, ”Doesn’t that just prove that Wayford Intelligence has unseen advantages? Otherwise, how could a newly-founded company like AI Vision Promise dare to spend so much money buying it?”

Justus Spencer: ”...”

That seemed to make some sense.

Thomas further persuaded him, ”SSA Private Equity is backing AI Vision Promise, and just that name alone puts us at ease. Since its founding, SSA Private Equity Fund has never made a money-losing deal, and every investment has been hugely profitable! — What does this indicate? It indicates that SSA Private Equity behind AI Vision Promise actually has its eyes on Wayford Intelligence!”

Thomas became increasingly enthusiastic, ”So we must acquire Wayford Intelligence at all costs! Mr. Spencer, I’m telling you, acquiring a company isn’t like shopping for groceries; you can’t hesitate and haggle over every detail!”

Justus Spencer, stirred up by Thomas’s words, vigorously nodded and said, ”Alright, just in time for today’s board meeting, I’ll do my utmost to persuade them!”

He pushed forward energetically to attend the board meeting.

At the board meeting, he brought up the price increase for Wayford Intelligence and said, ”Now another company is offering 2 billion to acquire Wayford Intelligence. Wayford Intelligence won’t sign the contract; 1 billion is definitely not enough. Uncles, see if we can raise the price?”

The board members looked at each other, a bit displeased.

”How did it suddenly double?”

”What company suddenly offers 2 billion?”

Justus Spencer smiled and said, ”It’s AI Vision Promise, a newly founded company also involved in artificial intelligence, backed by SSA Private Equity, not to be underestimated.”

The board members looked at him and said, ”So what do you think? Do you want to bid against them?”

Justus Spencer originally planned to give up, but Thomas convinced him otherwise.

He immediately said, ”We definitely can’t give up on Wayford Intelligence. Because SSA Private Equity Fund, since its founding, has profited immensely from every investment! This time, my insider information tells me that it’s SSA Private Equity behind AI Vision Promise that truly has an interest in Wayford Intelligence!”
