Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 392: Chapter 211: Now This Is Unexpected, Truly Unexpected

But now was not the time for petty jealousies, so Ava Harlow couldn’t be bothered with her.

She called a series of people to gather her trusted subordinates.

She arranged for someone to post notices to family, relatives, friends, and guests, someone else to handle the logistics and manpower for organizing the venue, and another to oversee the Spencer Family’s internal and external security measures.

Two hours later, she had already booked the most famous funeral home in Z City and began the preparations for the funeral.

Both Spring Spencer and Summer Spencer in Capital City received the news.

Spring Spencer received a call from Ava Harlow.

”Spring, hurry back, your elder brother just passed away.” Ava Harlow sighed, ”I told you, one can’t be too ruthless, karma will catch up...”

Spring Spencer: ”...”

She seemed unable to react, after a long pause, she frowned and said, ”What are you talking about? What do you mean he just passed away? Wasn’t big brother perfectly fine? I just talked to him yesterday.”

”It was a car accident this morning; he passed away quickly.” Ava Harlow said simply, ”I’m handling his funeral arrangements, you need to come back soon. You two are siblings, you must send him off.”

Spring Spencer nodded, ”...I’ll book a flight immediately.”

As for Summer Spencer, it was Hazel Winchester who made the call.

Still sounding tearful, she sighed and said, ”Summer, hurry back. Your big brother died in a car accident, the family needs to hold a funeral for him.”

Summer Spencer exclaimed, ”What?! Big brother is gone?! How did this happen?! What are we going to do now?! What are we supposed to do?!”

With their father losing his only son, the Spencer Family estate...

Summer Spencer’s heart burned with ambition again, and she quickly said, ”I’m coming back immediately! What about you? What are you doing?”

”Me? I’m personally attending to Mr. Spencer.” Hazel Winchester’s face showed an uncontrollable smile, ”Mr. Spencer wants to be with me during this time. He asked the second son to handle Justus’s affairs, but he wants me by his side to take care of him!”

She emphasized, ”He said it of his own accord! I didn’t have to ask.”

”Really?!” Summer Spencer was both surprised and delighted, ”Mom, you’re amazing!”

...

While Hazel Winchester and Stephen Harlow were calling their daughters, Cameron Spencer had also clarified the details of Justus Spencer’s car accident.

”Mr. Spencer, according to witness testimonies around the scene and the police investigation, we preliminarily suspect the eldest son was targeted for revenge.”

”Several people from the company have seen the two people in the car that hit him blocking him at the parking lot, we don’t know why yet, but it certainly wasn’t a coincidence.”

Cameron Spencer’s face darkened, ”Investigate it for me, find out exactly what’s going on!”

...

Under the adept leadership of Stephen Harlow, the funeral of Justus Spencer, the only heir of the Spencer Family in everyone’s eyes, proceeded exceptionally smoothly and grandly.

However, since learning that the woman who died alongside Justus Spencer was Molly Zimmerman, and that she was five months pregnant, Eva Harris did not appear at any of the funeral events for Justus Spencer.

Ava Harlow told people that Eva Harris was too grief-stricken to get out of bed, so she couldn’t attend Justus Spencer’s funeral.

In fact, both she and Cameron Spencer knew that Eva Harris had already packed her things and returned to her family in Capital City.

Not long after the funeral, the investigators sent by Cameron Spencer brought back new information.

This time, Thomas Stewart came to the forefront.

After listening to the report, Cameron Spencer sneered, ”Well, they dared to scheme against my only son. Does he think that because he’s a foreigner and ran back overseas, we can’t do anything to him?”

”Mr. Spencer, that’s likely the case. After Joyce Shaw’s death, Thomas tried to go after Joyce’s grandmother to clean up loose ends, but he failed. So the thugs he hired kept pestering the eldest son to send them abroad to escape.”

”The eldest son couldn’t come up with a solution quickly, and as the police were closing in on the thugs, they panicked and, driven by desperation, decided to die together with the eldest son.”

”Ha...” Cameron Spencer’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile, ”Really think those thugs would target my son? —As for that Thomas...”

He lifted his right index finger and pointed vaguely in the air, ”...Every debt has a debtor, he will get his comeuppance.”

...

Two weeks passed, and Lawrence Winters finally recovered from her injuries enough to return to work.

On her first day back at work, she saw a trending topic on Weibo.

#Spencer Group’s only son Justus Spencer dies in a car accident, rumored to have a soulmate with ominous associations accompanying him#.

Accompanied by a picture of Justus Spencer and Molly Zimmerman.

Lawrence Winters blinked, almost unable to believe her eyes.

Edward Foster drifted into her office, smiling as he asked, ”Lawrence, what are you looking at? So focused?”

Lawrence Winters looked up, surprised, ”Little Foster, did you know the Crown Prince of Spencer Group is dead?”

Edward Foster chuckled, ”Yeah, it’s gratifying, why? Do you feel sorry?”

”No no no, why would I feel sorry?” Lawrence Winters thought of Joyce Shaw, who worked hard for Victory Wise Corporation and lost her life in the process, and showed a hint of satisfaction, ”It’s just very surprising, very unexpected.”

”Moreover,” she paused, pointing to the photo of Molly Zimmerman on the phone, and said, ”This woman was my college roommate.”

Edward Foster glanced at it, ”She’s alright looking, was she Justus Spencer’s wife?”

”Of course not.” Lawrence Winters rolled her eyes at him, ”You don’t know who Justus Spencer’s wife was?”

”How would I know?” Edward Foster was puzzled, ”I wasn’t close with him.”

”I thought he was in your circle.” Lawrence Winters laughed, ”They’re all on the rich list...”

”Tsk, that list, just take it as a gossip.” Edward Foster sneered, ”Truly rich people, are so low profile, they would never agree to be on that list.”

”I just don’t understand you rich guys.” Lawrence Winters put down her phone, smiled, and said, ”Alright, I need to work now, Little Foster, don’t you have work to do?”

”Of course. But since you’re back from your recovery, I, as your boss, must show some concern.” Edward Foster chuckled, ”Lunch together? It’s just a work lunch, don’t overthink it.”
