Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 371: Chapter 202: Just a Small, Insignificant Deed (Third Update)

Seeing Francis Johnson bowing his head, Ian Lothrop finally snorted and said seriously into his phone, ”Is it really called the Nine Palace Lotus Formation? Then we must have a good talk. Are you free today? Would you like to come over and chat? I’ll treat you to a gourmet meal!”

Ian Lothrop intentionally tried to influence Lawrence Winters with a foodie’s enthusiasm.

Sure enough, Lawrence Winters was tempted, ”...Uh, what gourmet meal? I’ve eaten a lot of things, and the regular good food doesn’t impress me. It has to be exceptionally delicious!”

Ian Lothrop laughed and said, ”A uniquely delicious seafood fried rice from a certain country! Made by a non-professional top chef, I guarantee you won’t be able to stop eating!”

”...Well, I’ve had that before... It’s just so-so,” Lawrence really didn’t think this country’s seafood fried rice was anything special, it wasn’t as good as plain rice with boiled shrimp dipped in fresh soy sauce...

”Ha, that’s because you haven’t tasted the good stuff!” Ian Lothrop eagerly persuaded her, ”I guarantee it’s the best seafood fried rice you’ve ever had! If it’s not delicious, I’ll give you a big red envelope!”

A big red envelope finally solidified Lawrence Winters’ decision, ”Okay! Where are you? I’ll come over right away.”

Ian Lothrop quickly said, ”I’m at Francis Johnson’s company, where are you? How long will it take to get here?”

Francis Johnson’s company is in a high-tech park on the fourth ring, close to Kenneth Osborne’s company, but a bit far from Lawrence Winters’ new home.

Kenneth Osborne looked at the route and time, and said, ”We’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”

...

Exactly fifteen minutes later, Kenneth Osborne’s car stopped at the parking lot in front of the building where Francis Johnson’s company is located.

Lawrence Winters walked into the building with him, entering the elevator on the ground floor.

Watching the elevator gradually ascend to the eighteenth floor.

Kenneth Osborne was a bit uneasy, glancing at Lawrence Winters several times but didn’t say a word.

Lawrence Winters knew what Kenneth Osborne was worried about, and she didn’t want to keep explaining; anyway, when she sees how she’s going to talk to Professor Ian later, it will become clear.

Lawrence Winters smiled and walked into Francis Johnson’s company’s door with Kenneth Osborne.

It looked like an ordinary company, with an ordinary plaque at the entrance: Network Security Co., Ltd., there was no indication that it was the famous SSA Private Equity Fund’s location.

Moreover, there was generally no one here, not even a receptionist.

When Lawrence Winters walked in, she even thought she had entered a soon-to-be-bankrupt old goods recycling company.

It wasn’t until Kenneth Osborne, familiar with the place, led her through twists and turns to a high-class looking black walnut door that they stopped.

He placed his hand on the wall’s automatic sensor and scanned his iris, then the door automatically opened.

Lawrence Winters watched with great interest, stepping in with Kenneth Osborne.

After they entered, the black walnut door silently closed automatically again.

It looked kind of smart and techy.

The interior decor, completely different from the outdated and ordinary style outside, was displayed.

This room was almost like a cube full of screens.

The ceiling above, the two walls, and the floor beneath were made of LCD screens.

It’s clear that the entire southern wall was glass windows, only covered by a large projector screen, serving as curtains.

In the center of the room, there was a semi-circular sofa with small coffee tables as dividers between each pair of seats.

Facing the sofa was a long table, also made of black walnut.

Lawrence Winters was familiar with this kind of wood because she had seen an entire house full of walnut furniture at a wealthy family home while feng shui-ing with her uncle Nick Zeller.

Having been informed by someone about how valuable this wood was, the good ones were not inferior to the traditional ”noble wood” red sandalwood or rosewood.

In such an extremely post-modern decorated office, seeing a black walnut long table seemed somewhat out of place.

But it wasn’t ugly; instead, it had a sense of heft that nicely integrated the entire room’s jumpy post-modern vibe.

In layman’s terms, it had a grounding effect, not flighty at all.

Francis Johnson stood with his arms crossed behind that long table, while Ian Lothrop sat on the sofa, looking back at them.

”The little girl who can do fortune telling, you’re finally here!” Ian Lothrop cheerfully greeted, even shaking her hand.

Lawrence Winters also liked Ian Lothrop very much, for no other reason than they just clicked.

The two of them sat down on the sofa, both looking quite at ease with each other.

Kenneth Osborne tugged at the corner of his mouth, came to Francis Johnson’s side, and inquired, ”...What’s really going on? Do you really think that Nine Palace Lotus Formation Nora mentioned is useful?”
